I think Dean's "fizzle" can be explained here:

The "Many pundits get antsy" link in the article is broken.
Sometimes frontrunners stumble, crash & burn, fizzle, and just plain lose. Why should it be any different in the internet age?
Because of the speed, breadth and inexplicability of the Dean Iowa debacle.
Excellent article, by the way.
"inexplicability"??? Since when has politics been explicable?!? As for speed & breadth, hmmph, I tend to doubt Dean's case is all that unprecedented in those areas either, but I'm not going to bother to do the research necessary to back that up, so you'll just have to trust my doubt... 🙂
It's not chartreuse--it's EMERALD. Gawd....
And for me the merciless remixes firmly cemented my Dean support. They're not laughing at him--they're laughing with him. They're a celebration of Howard Dean. Right? Right?
I think they're just laughing, period. And why the hell not?!
I have found at lease six theories to explain what happened to Dean in Iowa.
