    I take issue with the description of the new Afghan constitution as "moderate". Perhaps it would be moderate in the view of John Ashcroft. If you read through it, you will not find any rights granted to the citizens of Afghanistan that do not make an exception for any future law that might happen to contradict them. In other words, it is hardly a Constitution - it does not limit the government's behavior in any way, nor does it limit the scope of future legislation.

    Unfortunately there isn't anyone over there named Abdul Adams or Mustafa Jefferson. Got to try to get the best out of what you have.
