A Steaming Pile of Entertainment
Via Radley Balko, I see that Showtime has chosen to sign on for another season of Penn and Teller's excellent program Bullshit! They'll air five of the best episodes from season one starting tonight at 8pm. The show contains heavy doses of skepticism and libertarianism: The first episode running this evening, on "environmental hysteria," features an interview with Cato's Jerry Taylor.

When I try to access the Bullshit! website from Canada, I get:
"We at Showtime Online express our apologies; however, these pages are intended for access only from within the United States."
Anyone know what gives?
I didn't even know this show existed until I read this post. Wow! it's about time someone took the kook industry on and I'm glad Penn & Teller are the ones doing it.
I don't get Showtime, but since just about every TV show is getting turned out to DVD (they put "Firefly" out on DVD and that sadly didn't last but a few weeks) I'm won't be in the dark for long.
Funny how it takes a couple of nuts to take on the kooks.
This is the greatest thing that ever happened to Showtime. Did anyone else see the one about UFO abductions? It was kind of sad in that there are a lot of sh1tty people taking advantage of the mentally ill, but the bit about the anal probe is a classic.
Go Showtime!
I can't afford Showtime. This month my cable bill was more than my power bill. I'm sure glad these coercive monopolies have been deregulated!
At least I can read about it at work, where the internet is "free."
I loved the environmental hysteria show - especially when the got a lone list of enviro nuts to sign a petition banning the use of Dihydro-oxygenate in manufacturing.
Dihydro = H2
oxygenate = O
Actually, it was "Dihydrogen Monoxide", which sounds more menacing.
It's because of the see through clothing. You know: I always thought you were crazy, but now I can see your nuts. Sorry, couldn't resist.

I believe that all government is evil, and that trying to improve it is largely a waste of time.
