David M. Molnar snapped a photo of a state trooper's cruiser parked in a handicapped space in a Registry of Motor Vehicles Parking lot. Minutes later, Molnar, who works for the Springfield, Massachusetts, newspaper The Republican was stopped by the trooper driving that car. Coincidence? Maybe not. State Trooper Patrick F. Moynihan not only cited Molnar for failing to use his blinkers, he allegedly asked Molnar why he'd taken the photo and seized a photo assignment sheet from the paper. Molnar also claims the trooper said that "He didn't know why the newspaper was doing this, but if it continued, this incident wouldn't be the last." It was the second time in as many weeks that the paper photographed a state police vehicle illegally parked.
