An Informed Electorate

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree forbidding the media from revealing details of political candidates' personal lives or analyzing their policies. It also forbids them from forecasting the results of any election and requires them to give equal time and space to all candidates. The government says the law will prevent negative campaigning.
