Powerless and Clueless
When the power went out in New York City, ordinary citizens jumped in to direct traffic through a crowded intersection at West 79th Street and Amsterdam Avenue. Meanwhile, at least one city parking enforcement officer continued to calmly write tickets for illegally parked cars just a few yards away. Onlookers begged the unidentified officer to do something, but instead he reportedly got back in his patrol car and drove through the intersection, directed by one of the volunteers.
