I'm not sure how to describe this one. It's kind of like Germany invading Russia, and it's kind of like the Hulk trying to beat up the Thing. Maybe you better look at it yourself…

Yeah, I remember reading HEAVY METAL in the 80's. It was full of stuff like this. It was new to me then (remember when fantasy was 'cool') but I later learned that the genre is centuries old (but with a nice history of censorship and suppression, furthering it's 'cool' bona fides). Anyway, Hitler vs. Stalin barely qualifies as a new wrinkle in my eyes. There's just too much gothic weirdness already out there.

    Freddy vs. Jason?

  3. Anonymous   22 years ago

Reminds me of the "Golden Age" by James Robinson where Hitlers brain gets implanted in the body of a super powered McCarthy type senator. In the Grand Finale, Hitler fights the JSA, Grenn Lantern etc.

I'm still waiting for "Reagan vs. Gorbachev."

  5. Madog   22 years ago

Funny, thats how I remember it happening.

This guy is obviously a big Dr. Strange fan

Kevin, wouldn't you agree that, in the early 80's, the newly elected Pope had just as big an influence on world events as the 2 dolts in charge of the cold war?

  8. Anonymous   22 years ago

too bad reagan won, no more workers paradise

  9. Jesse Walker   22 years ago

There actually was a Reagan-Chernenko smackdown, unless Frankie Goes To Hollywood was lying to us.

  10. Kevin Carson   22 years ago

    nm156:

I thought the Pope was playing for Reagan's team: at least that's what's leaked out about his interactions with Brezhnev and Jaruzelski since the fall of Commmunism.

Of course, he may be sitting on some stuff about the Fatima prophecies he's not sharing with Bush (aka the Beast with Seven Heads and Ten Horns)....

  11. Kevin Carson   22 years ago

I'd like to see a Reagan-Brezhnev smackdown, myself (it's still anyone's guess who'd win, even today).

Does it scare the bejeezus out of anyone else that in the early '80s the fate of the world was being decided by a bunch of men in adult diapers?
