Authorities in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, closed some 300 shops where young people played video games and watched DVD movies. Police were acting on orders issued by Mohammed Asif Qazizada, deputy governor of Nangarhar province. "The morals of the young people were corrupted there," Shah said. "Many things were done there that are forbidden by Islam."
