This is bad news for the leading Libertarian candidate (currently Ned Roscoe, who actually appears to have his paperwork in, according to the CA Secretary of State website) but perhaps he can shoot for a strong #2 showing if he can claim the loyalty of smokers that his strategy requires...

  2. Ah Nulled   22 years ago

    Told you I'LL BE BACK!

  3. Anonymous   22 years ago

Who cares about the leading Libertarian candidate? Arnold is now the leading libertarian candidate (at least, as close as we're going to get)

  4. Steve Smith   22 years ago

Well, this should at least be a fun election, even if it stinks to high heaven from a public policy standpoint. Why not draft Kobe to run, and complete the freakshow?

  5. dude   22 years ago

Yeah, but when is OJ throwing his gloves into the ring?

  6. James Merritt   22 years ago

"Who cares about the leading Libertarian candidate?"

I'm sure more people than care about the opinions of anonymous message board taggers.

  7. Jean Bart   22 years ago

what exactly makes Arnold a "libertarian?" Where has this myth come from?

  8. Jean Bart   22 years ago

    James Merritt,

    You go girl!

  9. dude   22 years ago

Well. . . he's a republican but not a social conservative. That passes for libertarian a lot of the time.

  10. HH   22 years ago

    Don't forget that other Arnold...

  11. Keith   22 years ago

The fact the he hands out copies of Free to Choose is enough proof for me that he has libertarian tendencies.

  12. Lefty   22 years ago

This is getting really embarrassing. We are making banana republics and middle eastern states look like bastions of representative government.

  13. Jay   22 years ago

"We are making middle eastern states look like bananas of representative government."

    (No kidding!)

As you may have heard, the US is putting together a constitution for Iraq.

Why don?t we just give them ours?

    Think about it:

-- It was written by very smart people.
-- It?s served us well for over 200 years
-- And besides, we?re not using it anymore.

i thought gary coleman was the LP 'date?

isn't ahnoldnegger married to a kennedy?

  15. David   22 years ago

Why *not* Arnold? They could pick someone worse, and often have...and if Arnold is elected and fails miserably, they can recall him and try again.

  16. Alex   22 years ago

Anyone familiar with cheeba-smoking Arnold's position on medical marijuana?

  17. Monica   22 years ago

If he wins, I'd really feel sorry for him, having to deal with all those state bureaucrats and UNIONS for the next several years.

Clint Eastwood was only a mayor, but he couldn't stand having to listen to them whine every day.

    Better yet in this case...

"Democracy is the theory that holds that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard." --H.L. Mencken

Arnold's gonna look like a big fat hypocrite if he comes out in favor of the drug war in any way... we all know he smoked weed (he did it on film) and he's admitted to using steroids... shoot, he's probably admitted to other stuff too:) I listened to his remarks today, and while it's encouraging that he wanted to get businesses to move back to CA, I'm suspicious of how he plans to accomplish that. Corporate welfare? Maybe he'll advocate free market solutions but I have my doubts.

He also looks to want to spend lots and lots of money on any sort of social programs he likes... though ~maybe~ less so than some others... I don't know.

Oh, and have you heard him talk about his wife's role in his decision? Sounds to me like she didn't want him to run, but shyed away from damanding he not... I bet that right now she's banging her head against a wall mumbling "i should have said no, i should have said no..."

    Andy
