Penguins in Spaaaaaace
Amateur rocketeers are planning to launch a suborbital rocket running Linux. This is pretty cool, though I keep imagining what it'd be like to have to do a kernel recompile on the fly when "mount landinggear" fails to execute.

Probably alot better than getting a Blue Screen of Death on re-entry, I'd bet.
