Maybe the Spoon is the A-Bomb

Summer movie smashes provide life-giving sustenance not just to Hollywood, but to pop-referencing political columnists the world over. So it was probably inevitable that Arianna Huffington would take the early Oscar lead in the race for Most Ambitious Matrix Metaphor:

Maybe Hollywood's Wachowski brothers are auditioning for the role of Ari Fleischer's replacement. Maybe Karl Rove has moved his office into the "Matrix." Maybe it's all just a bad dream: "The White House Reloaded."

Maybe! Huffington, whose thesis is that "we are being governed by a gang of out-and-out fanatics," also goes on to note, apparently without irony, that "A popular definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result."
