The Washington Post provides a look at attempts to win Iraqi surrenders around Basra. A loud-speaker sporting Humvee blared a message imploring Iraqis to surrender or die.

Eventually the message got a response: really loud Arabic music blared right back. "Man, that's funny," one U.S. soldier told the Post.

And by my count, the dispatch is about the 257th embed report that no one in their right mind could complain about.
