Joe Bob's Drive In
Spoke to devil-may-care drive-in movie critic Joe Bob Briggs today for a short interview that will be in the April iss. It was much fun--enough so that I'm inspired to finally plump his Web site here. There you'll find movie reviews and political commentary, including one I should have linked to earlier on how the newsmedia operate as professional mourners.

The Columbia crash is far from the only story off of which our news media spins many, many non-stories. That list is rather lengthy.
Anyone who appreciates Joe Bob Briggs is one of God's chosen.
I can say I appreciated Joe-Bob when he was "just" a column in the Dallas Observer (as opposed to having a website).
Ahhhh Joe Bob. I loved watching his Drive In Movie Show on The Movie Channel just for the monolouge. (OK, that and the occassional "nekid' breast" and the scenes of "multiple aardvarkin'")
Totally concur with Mark S. Also, this signature comment by Joe Bob should be in Bartlett's Familiar Quotations: Following some piece of sly innuendo (usually sexual), he would often add the tag line "If you know what I mean, and I think you do."
"I should have linked to earlier on how the newsmedia operate as professional mourners."
Grief Fu.
long live joe bob! tnt's "monstervision" is SORELY missed in my house... but the website (exposing his double-life as a political commentator!) makes up for it a little.
Joe Bob, by the way, has a new gig recording intros and commentary tracks for Elite Entertainment's line of drive-in and exploitation DVDs. Franklin says, check it out:
