Occupy vs DNC: Are Dems Crony Capitalists?

Occupy Wall Street held protests outside Time Warner Arena on Day 2 of the 2012 Democratic National Convention.

Members of Occupy claim that both Republicans and Democrats are too cozy with Wall Street and big business, while many mainstream Democrats claim that President Obama and members of Congress are the leaders needed to fight on behalf of the consumer. Reason TV was on the scene to capture some of the tension between Occupy and the DNC.

Approximately 3:05.

    First! Listening to TEAM Blue wax retarded over Obama was a yawn fest. Finding OWS types who did not was a feat. The rubes in DC were incoherent.

  • Brandybuck||

    The OWS folks are like a clock running backwards. They are right four times a day, which is twice as right as the Democrats.

  • ||

    Does the sun rise in the east?

  • ||

    I guess corporations are people after all.

  • Chris Yoder||

    Absolutely the Dems are crony capitalists. All national politicians are.

  • ||

    I can think of one possible exception, and his name rhymes with "sand brawl."

  • jacob the barbarian||

    I accept the 'possible exception' moniker. I am waiting to see how Rand is looking when he is running for re-election

  • VG Zaytsev||

    The lady at 2:30 If I started reading what's in there I might feel bad, so I don't

    Summarizes the ignorant Obama zombie perfectly.

  • ||

    I wasnt going to watch the video until I read your comment VG. All I can say to that is "Whoa....what? I...uh....ummm...uh....hooooly shit."

  • Fist of Etiquette||

    To the uninformed (knowing glance) it looks like they're funneling taxpayer dollars to donors, but it's actually synergy.

  • ||

    Yeah, that cracked me up too. It is a fucking dunce-convention.

  • Brandybuck||

    Both parties are. Consider last week when the delegates were angrily defending Medicare.

    Brandybuck: You do know, don't you, that Medicare is a single payer healthcare system?

    Rethuglican: No it's not! It's a venerable American system!

    Brandybuck: Young people pay taxes that go to the government who then pays Medicare subscribers' bills.

    Rethuglican: That's not true! It's my money, I paid into it!!! The Obamination wants to get rid of my Medicare! Romney will give us anti-communist healthcare! There will be Chic-fil-a in every pot! Heathen!

  • ChrisO||

    Politics is an ugly thing. Sorry to break it to you. It's never actually been any different.

  • ||

    Heh! Down here we say " a possum in every pot".

    Yeah, the levels of moronicity are only slightly less with the Repubs.

  • jacob the barbarian||

    Depends on the topic.

  • ΘJΘʃ de águila||

    Don't forget Barack's:

    Not one, but two OBAMA VOLTs for every garage!

  • ChrisO||

    The Occupiers are like a blind squirrel that occasional gets close to finding the acorn, but inevitably picks up the dog turd instead.

  • ||

    And then they brush their teeth and rub their armpits with it.

  • DanM||

    I actually laughed out loud ... seriously.. fantastic!

  • AlmightyJB||

    Which actually makes them smell better.

  • Paleo-ConAvenger||

  • ThatSkepticGuy||

    Yeah, yeah. You don't like Democrats because they're not Red enough for ya, but you're still gonna inevitably vote for them anyway.
    Same shit these wingnuts have been spouting for a year now.

    "This is a Made-For-TV movie! This is not violent! Nevermind that our movement has become synonymous with theft, assault, arson, rape, ETC ETC!"

  • Francisco||

    The left only claim to increase fairness and equal outcomes when in fact their policies only create greater disparity.

  • Ardelle||

    It's not about what can be done *for* us.

    It's about what can be done *to* us.

  • jason||

    Capitalism is in deep threat because most of the economies are dying with wrong policies.

    Hah! The unkempt Occupiers outside are much smarter and more aware than the obsequious dressed-up idiots inside the convention hall.
