You Got Me Rockin' and a Rollin', Rockin' and a-Reelin'

Drudge already has it, but this is funny/sad enough to bear repeating:

Not to be outdone, Mitt Romney has been spotted breaking Diet Coke bottles over punters' heads and screaming "Gonna drop it all over the place! You're gonna get it on your face!"

Related: the last polling on this had Americans opposing an attack on Iran by a 50-32 margin. The same poll had 59 percent of people agreeing with the premise of the question McCain is answering, that "Iran is blowing up people now" by arming Shi'ites.

Is that te same or different than pre-Iraq was polling?

NovaTheCat | April 19, 2007, 11:57am | #

Back during the first Iran hostage crisis, "Bomb Bomb Iran" was a popular parody song on radio. I remember going around singing it with friends in college. McCain was just repeating something from the past, although it was inappropriate for a politician to sing it.

That is ranking right up there with GWB referring to Ted Kennedy as Chappy

You know what always cheers me up and gets a laugh at the office? Crushing Persian skulls. I get them from an anthropologist friend at NYU.

R C Dean | April 19, 2007, 12:22pm | #

Is McCain a chickenhawk? I could have sworn I read somewhere that he was in the military.

Timothy | April 19, 2007, 12:22pm | #

Does anybody else thing the world would be a better place if Victor Charlie hadn't let McCain go?

pinko | April 19, 2007, 12:24pm | #

Yeah...I remember that song. It was funny in something like the 3rd grade or something, which appears to be the mental age of your typical hawk these days.

bigbigslacker | April 19, 2007, 12:57pm | #

VM, I got you beat. I hate retards, chickenhawks, AND faggots.

I can't even get irritated at McCain anymore--he's just a crazy old coot who really, really likes war. Sure it's Iran now, but I'm pretty sure you could get him on board for flattening Ottowa after a couple scotches. The Bush/Rove wing may have pushed the Iraq invasion out of some cynical political calculations but there's no doubt in my mind that John just thought it'd be a hell of a good time

No, but it would have been nice if none of the Keating 5 had survived that scandal.

Ken Shultz | April 19, 2007, 1:33pm | #

I could see this as being as much about kidding the guy about his question as advocating...

Is it too much to ask how McCain answered the question?

bigbig:

d'oh. dammit. you got me.

No way - Diet Coke has caffeine in it. Perhaps a Sprite instead.

Judge Smailes | April 19, 2007, 3:15pm | #

How about a Fresca?

henry | April 19, 2007, 4:35pm | #

Maybe next he will break out with Steve Dahl's old chesnut, "Ayatollah" (sung to the tune of My Sharona).

Duckman | April 19, 2007, 4:57pm | #

I hope this is further indication that the McCain campaign is self-destructing.

I think cold caffeinated drinks are OK for Mormons.

No, actually, they are not.

So screwed up, a caveman can run his campaign.

My wife is from Iran. When she came to this country, she discovered the Beach Boys. She was watching them on television when her brother told her to turn off the television. When she asked why, her brother said it was because they were singing, "Bomb, bomb, bomb, bombard Iran".
