Apropos of Nick's appearance on Bill Maher's show, can we now call raising the debt ceiling, "Bill Maher's Pet Panic"?
-
Crap? it's an epi

2011 and we still have novelty rap songs.
-
All rap songs are novelty!

The "Fed Life" graffiti on the wall was pimp.

This whole "debate" is annoying. They obviously are going to and have to raise the debt cieling. Yes government spending is way out of control - but the debt cieling is a moot point. What we should be talking about is how not to get downgraded by S&P - in their last report I think they said we need $4T of deficit reduction to maintain AAA, can't wait to see if they were bluffing.
-
Seriously? I'm surprised they didn't downgrade us sooner. We're more than $14 trillion in debt, and it doesn't look at all like we're going to actually pay it all back. Hell, if I didn't think that they might pull something off so that they won't have to pay, I'd loan them money, just so I could take government property when they don't pay it back.
-
It may be a moot point, but our government now REQUIRES "drop dead" deadlines to even get any kind of discussion of reduction in spending. Had this ceiling not existed, we would have already been well on our way to $15T debt without a blink of an eye.
Call me crazy, but I'm starting to think we may actually get some spending cuts (though not nearly enough) due to this debt ceiling.
-
I'll call you crazy. I'm going to guess that we won't see one red cent in spending reductions-- real spending reductions-- because of this debt ceiling. And I'm an optimist!
-
I think that using humorous rap songs to make political points is a fresh and innovative idea.
-
Thanks for the insight, Mr. Johnny-come-lately.
-
They were going to do a ska video instead but Remy's trombone got bruised.
-
Now that YouTube exists, this fresh idea might actually work!
