Last week, legal blogs and websites were buzzing about a New York Times article suggesting an emerging left-right consensus in favor of reforming the criminal justice system. But Reason Senior Editor Radley Balko says that liberals, conservatives, and libertarians have fundamentally different ideas about the purpose of the legal system, so while they may all agree that the system is broken, it's unlikely that they'll agree on how to fix it.
