Ain't That a Shame
Pat Boone, "descendant of the legendary pioneer Daniel Boone,
top-selling recording artist, star of his own
hit TV
series, movie star, Broadway headliner, and best-selling author,"
says America should be be on alert, because the hate-fueled
violence we saw in Mumbai last month could happen here. And
not necessarily just from militant Islamists,
but also from . . . the queers.
Have you not seen the awful similarity between what happened in Mumbai and what's happening right now in our cities?
Oh, I know the homosexual "rights" demonstrations haven't reached the same level of violence, but I'm referring to the anger, the vehemence, the total disregard for law and order and the supposed rights of their fellow citizens. I'm referring to the intolerance, the hate seething in the words, faces and actions of those who didn't get their way in a democratic election, and who proclaim loudly that they will get their way, no matter what the electorate wants!
Hate is hate, no matter where it erupts. And hate, unbridled, will eventually and inevitably boil into violence.

What troubles me so deeply, and should trouble all thinking Americans, is that there is a real, unbroken line between the jihadist savagery in Mumbai and the hedonistic, irresponsible, blindly selfish goals and tactics of our homegrown sexual jihadists. Hate is hate, no matter where it erupts. And by its very nature, if it's not held in check, it will escalate into acts vile, violent and destructive.
I suppose that would explain all the recent news stories about roving gangs of homosexuals beating straight people to death because of their sexual preference.

readers think of "hate crimes." The point is that in real life,
there are many documented crimes against gay people that are
committed because the are gay. Gay people are not going around
beating and murdering straight people for being straight. Pat

This should be pretty obvious.
The Drug War harms more people, but that is no reason to "stick to
the Drug War" and not cover other crimes of Culture Warriors.

A small number of the types of people who get really passionate
about a cause sometimes do inappropriate things up to and including
violent acts.
These acts are rare and the people who commit them are likely
mentally unbalanced. They also seem to be randomly distributed
across all political and/or social factions.
There may be other reasons why a straight guy would attack a gay
guy but the most likely explanation is that the victim is being
attacked for being gay.
On the other hand if a gay guy attacks a straight guy the most
likely explanation is that the gay guy got called "a dirty fucking
faggot" one time to many and lost it. Inappropriate perhaps but
kind of understandable I'd say.

Hey Pat, news flash: sometimes hate is appropriate.
Hell, sometimes violence is appropriate. Proposition 8's victory is
not one of those times, but they exist.
I would hope that a good number of slaves "hated" their masters in
1859. Oh, those haters!
When one hates the unjust, one serves the good. If the unjust are
unjust enough, they deserve to be the target of violence, and when
one undertakes violence against them, one serves the good.
So if homosexuals "hate" you because they believe that you are
denying them either liberty or equality, we can't just say, "Hate
is wrong so those homosexuals are bad folks." We have to actually
evauluate their claim to being denied liberty or equality - because
if it's valid, they should hate you.

I cringe when I read this "libertymike". His comments make
advocates of liberty look moronic. But I suspect he is not an
advocate of liberty at all.
He gets even more silly when he argues that gay "committ (sic)
crimes motivated by hate" but then doesn't cite any evidence that
this is problem. He says gays "perpetrate violence" against
religious nut-jobs -- can he tell us of three cases of "violence"
by gays. My guess is that he will redefine violence to non-violent
protests or complaints. But when did gays beat a Christian
violently and tie him to a fence in the dead of winter and leave
him to die?
And remember, to prove his case, he needs to show that a violent
attack took place and that the person who did was gay and motivated
by "hate". Citing incidents where we don't know who was guilty of a
crime is not proof since we DON'T KNOW WHO DID IT. And non-violent
incidents can't be used as proof of violence. What Boone and others
are screaming about is non-violent protests.
Mad Max is truly mad, in the sense of insanity. I'm not sure that
anonymous comments from a blog, which anyone could have written,
qualifies as evidence of any widespread viewpoint. Nor do I think
that pointing out bigotry in a community that has been targeted by
bigots in the past is necessarily a sign of intolerance. The black
community does tend to be bigoted about gays. Why is it bigoted to
say that?
