Rep. Paul Ryan sees a need for Congress to act to improve border security, but is uncertain about whether a broader immigration bill will reach President Barack Obama's desk by the end of the year.

"Doing nothing on the security side of this, we think, is not a responsible thing to do," the Wisconsin Republican said in an interview aired Sunday on ABC's "This Week," responding to commentator Bill Kristol's suggestion that the GOP focus on attacking Obamacare -- and not on immigration -- to win congressional races this fall.
