David Cameron Rejects Rumors of Pact With Eurosceptics

At least one Conservative MP thinks an agreement with UKIP would help win seats in the next election

Number 10 sources said there is "absolutely not" the remotest possibility the Conservatives will do a deal with Ukip, after Michael Fabricant, a former Government whip, published a report claiming it could win them dozens of seats.

Nigel Farage, the Ukip leader, also rejected the idea of a pact because he is at "war" with the Prime Minister for implying some of the eurosceptic party's members are racist.

Mr Farage had previously said he would consider not fielding candidates in marginal seats if the Conservatives gave a promise "written in blood" that there will be a referendum on Britain's membership of the EU.
