Obama, Romney Spar over Ohio's Auto Votes

Everybody says everybody else's campaign is "desperate."

WASHINGTON—President Barack Obama's re-election team has a new TV ad firing back at Republican rival Mitt Romney's claim made to Ohio voters this weekend that he'd do more for the auto industry than Obama would.

Romney's campaign put out an ad in Ohio – a key battleground state in next Tuesday's election – questioning Obama's auto policies despite the fact that the president is widely credited with saving General Motors and Chrysler from liquidation in 2009.

Both carmakers have returned to profitability and the auto industry has added jobs in recent years.
