Richard Mourdock: Not Apologizing For My Beliefs

Indiana Republican Senate candidate Richard Mourdock refused to apologize Wednesday for saying that when pregnancy results from rape then that is "something God intended."

State Republicans and a few congressional leaders defended Mourdock, whose prospects of winning the seat long held by the GOP are unclear.

    But Romney disagrees on the role Mourdock assigns to God in rape cases. This may be because Mormons recognize not one God, but a divine couple, God's consort being a shy goddess, Heavenly Mother.

    Nowadays Mormons are forbidden to worship the Heavenly Mother, or even mentioning her (except in the not often sung hymn "Oh My Father") given the implicit but obvious contradiction: Mormonism claims to be a monotheist Christian creed.
