Small Businesses Fret Over Government Spending, Taxes, Regulations

A study of optimism among small business owners released Tuesday shows a muddled picture, but cites "health-care costs" and "government spending" as the two primary concerns.

The National Federation of Small Businesses and the National Association of Manufacturers seemed to have some gaps and contradictions.

    In CA, there's a tax bill on the ballot. It introduces variable sales tax rates determined by the purchase value, Which means at filing, I now need to track transactions by amount, and report the amount of tax collected for each transaction at the various thresholds (not sure how many, but it really doesn't matter).
    Of course, such things really don't affect businesses, since CA is so wonderful, the businesses will stay here anyhow, right?
