Police yesterday ambushed and beat up members of the Swaziland National Union of Students(SNUS) who were on their way to deliver a petition to the ministry of education.

About 100 students joined the march under the SNUS banner, themed 'Relevance of the Education System to the Current Situation'. The march was meant to start off mid morning but most of thestudents claimed they were intimidated by the presence of the police until they gathered courage just after noon.
