Unsealed Title IX Complaint Against Columbia Now Available
I wrote in September about this case, Doe v. Columbia Univ. (S.D.N.Y.); as Judge Dale Ho wrote there,
[T]hese cases concern allegations of sexual assault and that the events in question occurred from 2012 to 2014 or 2015, around the time that Plaintiff was an undergraduate student at Columbia University…. Plaintiff … filed identical letters seeking to proceed pseudonymously in each case …. In his letter motions seeking pseudonymous status, Plaintiff noted that his "Complaint includes sensitive health information regarding a sexual assault, and medical and psychiatric treatment for these assaults, which could have deleterious consequences if this information became public record." Plaintiff did not request that the Complaints be sealed altogether, but the Clerk of Court, as a precaution given Plaintiff's motions to proceed under a pseudonym, limited electronic docket access to Plaintiffs' Complaints to "court users and case participants." …
I moved to intervene and unseal the Complaint "with any necessary redactions of various people's personally identifying information" (but didn't oppose pseudonymity), and the court agreed. That unsealed redacted Complaint has now been filed, and it is here; there's a lot going on there, but plaintiff (a gay black man) is alleging both that he was wrongly disciplined for alleged sexual misconduct and that Columbia failed to take seriously his own claims against two other students. More generally, he's claiming race discrimination, sexual orientation discrimination, antigay harassment, breach of contract, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Always fishy, always set off skepticism alarms. In the complaint, it refers to events happening at a university sponsored LGBTQ event. But the university is accused of discrimination against a black gay male. So the accusation is set in exactly the kind of institutional setting that has not only bent over backwards but gone out of its way to be supportive of both black and gay people. The people who work at schools like Colombia - bootlickers all - do everything they can to bow down to the latest identity politics causes, and THEY are the ones accused of racism and homophobia? As if this were 1955. Nope - whatever happened in this case, the university administration certainly did not fight the good racist/homophobic fight - this we know.
You are presuming that the LGBTQ play nicely with each other --- I can assure you that they do NOT. The L & T HATE each other, the Ls see the Ts as biological men while the Ts see the Ls as bigots who won't accept them as women. Then there are the fights between those who are "out" and those who are not -- I remember one incident at UM where gay males mailed photos of a gay male to his parents in a distant (conservative) state who didn't know he was gay.
And then the LGBTQ movement is nearly lily white and upper middle class with the inherent issues of race.
No, I would not be at all surprised to see this all occur within the context of LGBTQ events.
Dave Chappelle has a good segment on those people taking a car ride together. You should be able to find it on YouTube, at least unofficially with a "I think this is fair use so you can't sue me" disclaimer.
and to think Chappelle and "The Man Show" used to be on Comedy Central 24-7
Gonna make a “Heathers” reference (has it been 35 years?) like any of you has seen it
“I love my Black Gay Son!!!!!!!!”
Well written for a pro se complaint, but probably a loser on the merits. The relevant events were in 2012 and 2013. He got a settlement which he now claims is unconscionable. A previous lawsuit on the same facts naming different defendants was dismissed in in forma pauperis screening.
Hilarious part in G Gordon Liddy’s Autobiography “Will” where, while in Federal Prison (where Steve Bannon is right now, for what?? Bullshit) using his Legal background to help fellow Prisoners (not “Inmates” “Asylums have “Inmates”, Prisons have “Prisoners”) he was inundated with requests for a motion “in the form of a Porpoise”
