Kind of an advertising contest, given the "social media clout" element. In theory you could just whip up an image and enter it, in practice unless you were actually using it to earn money online you'd basically automatically lose.

I think they're trying to collect some data on what sort of fake women are most productive of revenue.

The only reason digital computers adopted binary is that it minimizes the required component precision. It's perfectly possible to build a computer that uses trinary, for instance, but you have to hold the specifications of the gates much more tightly to reliably distinguish between three voltage levels rather than two.

So your chip yield suffers, and the chip lifetime drops because the gates age out of spec sooner. It's generally not worth it.

The thing is, this isn't so much a "beauty pageant" as it is a search for effective marketing tools. You get major points for proving your AI image is useful for marketing on social media as a fake "influencer".

Doesn't matter how beautiful a girl you can persuade an AI to generate a picture of, you're not winning if she isn't selling something.

From that perspective, it probably incentivizes AI images which are sufficiently photorealistic and 'flawed' that people looking at them think they're attractive REAL people. Some of the more beautiful AI generated girls are actually too good looking, your mind instantly registers that nobody looks that good.
