"Science" used to simple. One would develop a hypothesis, test that using experiments designed to gather data, analyze the results, then confirm/alter/deny hypothesis. It was easy and apolitical.
Then, just like everything, liberals ruined it by deciding to co-opt the discipline because they needed one more rhetorical tool to make political hay. Now we are supposed to "trust science" when it promotes the left wing agenda. And if the facts are inconvenient to that agenda it is "junk science" or "not generally accepted science" or "not peer reviewed" or some other non-sense. Or another trick is when the left needs something to justify their policy push, they have one of their adherents in academia come up with a "study" to support the conclusion.
Now "science" is just another stupid talking point in our over polarized world.
Sheesh! It's Tom Lehrer. Just sit back and smile for a few seconds.
Dude. How do you make it through a day? Liberals here. Liberals there. Liberals everywhere making you miserable and corrupting All That Is Good.
Science is a liberal institution and based and powered by a liberal mind-set. When that is perverted by a conservative mind-set you get events such as the house arrest of Galileo, or blind following of authority that leads to whacked-out quasi-religious groups such as the Flat Earth society.
Get over it. Even the Catholic Church did and today we have a pope with a master's degree in chemistry.
And when it's perverted by a liberal mindset you get Lysenkoism and Eugenics...
More liberals lies that the Church is "anti-science"....
If that's true, the liberals desperately need to get their mindset back. The last year's worth of global upheaval and devastation has largely been enabled by supplanting centuries of scientific discoveries and advances with Stuff We Just Know. And that process has largely been driven by the left.

Hey, ease up. It's not like it's National Brotherhood Week
It was easy and apolitical.
While it's fair to say that the world of science is more tainted by politics today than in the past, it was never really apolitical. Nothing in which people are involved ever is.
I had never heard this version -- first clue was "Aristotle", second clue was the Youtube time of 18 seconds, which I took at first for an ad, but Tom Lehrer was singing? in a commercial? What the ....
Very good find, thanks.
Getting back to the point ....
Best I can think of, but I bet there's a better Greek word.
Science has progressed greatly since Aristotle. Philosophy, not so much.
No, it really hasn't. We use the same methods of dreaming up models and then trying honestly to evaluate them for consistency that we always have. That crucial pieces really haven't changed since Aristotle.
"Hypothesis" is of course a Greek word, but I don't know if the scientific method is that old.
My point is: Science knows a lot more now (the four elements have changed to 118). Not so Philosophy, except insofar as it has been informed by the progress of Science.
Hi, Lawyers. Start carrying your narcan nasal spray. Biden signs the COVID relief bill tommorrow. A mass extinction of Democrats will follow, as the illegal drugs they buy now all contain Chinese fentanyl.
This bill will not suppress Democrat votes. Being deceased is no impediment to voting for a Democrat candidate.
You've made Nathan Poe proud today, sir.
Your insult violates the Fallacy of Irrelevance.
