December 16, 1791 - the search for loopholes begins
PS - ratification was complete on Dec. 16, 1791, not 1789, which latter year was when Congress proposed it.

Which has always made me wonder exactly what Constitution lc1789 commemorates. He likes to say "shall not be infringed" whenever gun control is brought up, but that wasn't part of the Constitution in 1789. The Constitution itself was ratified in 1788, but some states ratified in 1789, some House elections were held in 1789, and the Presidential election spanned 1788 and 1789. Maybe "lc" stands for "Loves Congress".

One wonders what the Founders would say to us today....
They would ask why we haven’t completely rewritten the Constitution at least twice by now.
I agree.
I wonder how much they'd mea culpa over the Civil War.
