"Judge Grewal to Leave Bench for Facebook Post"
What was the scandalous Facebook post that drove the judge from the bench? Well, the Recorder story that originally bore that headline (since changed) tells a much less scandalous - but much more pleasant for the judge - tale than I was expecting:
U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul Grewal is leaving the bench to take a position at Facebook Inc.
Grewal, who has served on the Northern District of California bench since 2010, will join the social network company as its vice president and deputy general counsel of litigation in late June, [overseeing] global litigation for the company. Grewal and a Facebook spokesperson confirmed the move over email Thursday afternoon.
Was I the only one to misinterpret the headline? (I have to admit that, knowing the real story, I see that the "for" should have clued me in.)
