Alex Pretti, Prestige Television, and How Joe Biden Broke Everything
Robby Soave and Christian Britschgi discuss the latest videos of Alex Pretti, their own Reason origin stories, and how Joe Biden broke everything.
Robby Soave and Christian Britschgi kick off the show by unpacking newly surfaced footage of Alex Pretti's encounters with federal immigration agents in Minneapolis ahead of his fatal shooting last weekend. Pretti, a 37-year-old intensive care unit nurse, was killed by Border Patrol officers on January 24 during heightened immigration enforcement operations, sparking intense protests and national debate over federal law enforcement tactics.
They then pivot to a broader civil liberties discussion, highlighting why Sen. Rand Paul (R–Ky.) has been particularly effective on issues of government overreach—especially regarding law enforcement abuses of power.
Finally, on a lighter note, Robby and Christian wrap up the episode with a fun conversation about Mad Men, Breaking Bad, and other standout prestige TV shows—blending pop culture talk with their usual political insights.

Democrat members of the FCC are opposing a rule that requires recipients of Lifeline federal subsidies be living and lawful beneficiaries. Killing the program would be best, but limiting it to living people would be a massive improvement.
There...more libertarianism than Reason has churned out in months.
Why do you think they are libertarian?
It says so in the marketing - Robby
If Antifa can be anti-fascist, can't reason be libertarian?
Trump didnt fix fraud in a year. Why bother?
Today's count of articles that are Pretti / ICE related: 8 of 12.

Much appreciated
Must mean at least 60 for babbit and Victoria white right?
Give or take 60.
Im guessing take?
Indeed.
Not one honest take on it yet
I'll spare you the suspense. There won't be no matter what evidence we get.
You ought to go to Reason's search page and search "Trump" and "Biden" separately.
Considering one of those two was president for four years, vice president for 8 and in the Senate for what, over 40 years, you'd think he'd have more representation.
Anti orange racism.
"How Joe Biden Broke Everything" says the article sub-title...
Hey all of ye Reasonoid readers! Do NOT bother to read this article about Joe Biden (or his policies)! Do NOT bother to read (or read about) ANY links, facts, or logic contained in this article and-or video! Do NOT bother to trouble your pretty little heads about silly factual details gathered by useless Reason-writer eggheads!
Because I, the SMARTEST ONE, can “summarize” it ALL for you! Here it is, above article summarized: “Senile Mackerel Snapper Bad”!
(/Sarc, revenge for moronic “summaries” about “Orange Man Bad”)
Dems are strategically and reluctantly memory-holing the entire Biden presidency. I even heard one say "Biden, oh he was a one-termer, nothing like Obama."
This is a new tactic to stifle an uncomfortable conversation.
So was Carter.
If any President were to be best memorialized by being forgotten within his own lifetime it would be François Mitterrand.
Joseph Francois Mitterand Biden?
Francisco Franco is still dead.
Bias is the only explanation.
If one were a big mouthed, crass, rule breaking, fight provoking attention whore and the other a barely conscious weekend-at-Bernies basement dweller there might be another explanation though.
Rand Paul has a good working idea.
Biden did completely break a extremely fragile and flawed immigration system.
Trump has returned levels of deportation to numbers closer to the norms of the Bush, Obama and 1st Trump term(s). It only seems drastic due to the shouting and hyperbolic hysteria coming from all sides. That at the difference from the extremely non-enforcement during the Biden years coupled with the Biden regime trying to convince people to immigrate illegally resulting is a massive spike in illegal entries. Trump has decreased the number of illegal entries mostly through a change in the messaging.
I would like to see the narrative to change from the shootings, and move on the solutions such as Rand Paul's ideas. If we continue to focus on the shootings, nothing will ever be solved. Face it there are bad actors on both sides. Neither side is completely innocent. The shooting are are tragic and there is plenty of blame to be directed, but to what effect. It does not drive us to a solution. Step off your soapboxes and address the valid issues on all sides. Rand Paul's idea is a good start, start discussing it.
