Two Libertarians Debate Vaccine Mandates
George Mason University Law Professor Ilya Somin debates Libertarian Party activist Angela McArdle

Is there a libertarian case for vaccine mandates?
George Mason University Law Professor Ilya Somin supports vaccine mandates in certain cases because he believes they're a relatively "small infringement on freedom" and are preferable to harm reduction strategies like mask mandates and lockdowns, which he sees as posing a greater threat to our liberties.
Angela McArdle, the chair of the Libertarian Party of Los Angeles County, says she'll "actively work to destroy any institution that tries to enforce a vaccine passport," and is currently launching legal challenges to overturn vaccine mandates in California and New York.
On September 8, Somin and McArdle went head-to-head at the Soho Forum in New York City. Somin took the affirmative, and McArdle the negative, on the resolution: While vaccine mandates are an infringement on freedom, some are justified due to their big payoff in lives saved.
The debate was moderated by Soho Forum Director Gene Epstein.

Second libertarian: "You call yourself a libertarian?"
though to be fair, that's a summary of pretty much every libertarian debate
Good point.
But when the wolf shows up in sheep's clothing to the sheep debates, the wolf is in fact not a sheep.
“Democracy must be something more than two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner.” https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/23894-democracy-must-be-something-more-than-two-wolves-and-a
Wolf THAT down along with yer mutton sandwich!!! (Me and my academic friends will be happy to give you a 35,000 class-hours instructional course along the way to becoming degreed, credentialed, licensed, and board-certified, so as to be permitted to eat that mutton sandwich).
You ever eat mutton? Nobody likes mutton. Lamb? Hell yeah. Mutton? Pass unless I'm really fucking hungry.
"Mutton yesterday, mutton today, and blimey, if it don't look like mutton again tomorrer."
Even trolls don't like it. And I mean real trolls, not the facsimiles that pollute these comments.
You already said you didn't like it. It was understood trolls don't like it.
"You ever eat mutton? Nobody likes mutton. Lamb? Hell yeah. Mutton? Pass unless I'm really fucking hungry.

Speaking of trolls, just a little while ago:

I so don’t care anymore. I only show up to watch the trolls and clowns duke it out while tossing in this or that provocation. Bread and circuses. This is a circus.
I like to stir shit up. So what.
This is what alcohol does, kids.
He just does such a terrible job at what he claims to do. He is just terrible. Makes himself look retarded out the gate.
Navajos LOVE mutton! You, sir, are unreservedly CANCELED!
If you stew it it's tolerable.
I don't think it's bad in a strong spicy curry. Trim the fat first, which has most of the nasty flavor.
First libertarian also said he would vote for Biden because Trump spent too much. Anyone with such a flimsy excuse for voting either way is someone too short-sighted to be relied on for much else.
Can you link to any libertarian here saying such a thing?
No, because they're not libertarian. But Ilya Somin said that, and like you, he pretends he's one.
I believe the argument, which you mistake, is that Trump should not be re-elected President because he is an ass. And that he spent a lot, although not as much as a Democrat.
Which leaves the question: Did you purposely mistate an argument you have heard numerous times, or did you not ever listen to it all these times?
Your redefinition is a lie and you know it's not what he said. You're really disgusting, Sealion Man.
Sealion is good eating. Not as good as mutton, but good.
Never tried sealion i have to say

So again Mike thinks behavior is more pertinent than policy. Of course behavior doesn't effect him other than justifying his virtue signaling.
As long as Biden has a grandfatherly creepy like vibe, Mike can justify his authoritarian policies as being pushed with good intent.
That's like...you think your house stinks, but you can't convince your significant other, so you spray the house with skunk juice. Or you can't convince your significant other that the house is a fire trap, so you set it on fire. Or you think your significant other drives too fast, so you drain the brake fluid.
Like when Reason shows up to a libertarian debate.
Can you link to any example of any libertarian here saying that?
"To briefly summarize, Biden has significant advantages over Trump when it comes to immigration, trade, property rights, government spending, and maintaining relationships with liberal democratic allies." --- Ilya Somin

Man, talk about Defiant L's.
That's hilarious.
Except for immigration, trade, property rights, government spending, she might be right.
Where is White Mike now? Somin and White Mike are both fake Libertarians and ass-clowns.
Did Ilya ever consult with Al Davis on draft picks?
Sealioning is a harassment tactic by which a participant in a debate or online discussion pesters the other participant with disingenuous questions under the guise of sincerity, hoping to erode the patience or goodwill of the target to the point where they appear unreasonable. Often, sealioning involves asking for evidence for even basic claims.

A vaccine mandate would go over better if the government hadn’t wasted all their credibility on bullshit mandates.
If they had thumbs up on Reason I would give you one. Libertarians do not support mandates.
"Libertarians support 'your rights end where my rights begin, and my rights end where your rights begin."
"First, do no harm".
The vaccines don't stop the infection or transmission of the virus, even the CDC admits that. Supposedly they lessen the symptoms, but we really don't now that either. The natural occurrence is for less people to die over time, and the most vulnerable have already died, the virus mutates to be less lethal, natural immunity develops in those already having had the virus, and therapeutics are developed. So basically it boils down to a persons individual willingness to assess and accept risk. We do that everyday. Some will ride motorcycles, some without helmets when we know the statics of increased probability of death. Get over it.
My biggest complaint is being forced by the government to take a vaccine that has no liability for damages. Drug companies have made billions of US taxpayers, yet it the vaccine injures you, there are no damages as the US government has given them complete freedom from liability, unlike every other vaccine we take. That is just wrong.
If god takes my life, that is destiny, if the US government takes my life that is tyranny.
The headline should be a totalitarian and a libritarian. Ilya is no libritarian

It is all a money making fraud:
In 2020, at least 13 senators and 35 US representatives held shares of Johnson & Johnson, the medical behemoth that produced the single-shot COVID-19 vaccine that more than 15 million Americans have received.
At least 11 senators and 34 representatives also held shares in 2020 of another COVID-19 vaccine manufacturer, Pfizer. Two representatives or their spouses held shares of Moderna during the same year that the world went on lockdown in response to the pandemic.
Lawmakers held these investments in COVID-19-minded companies as Congress was at the center of pandemic relief efforts. In 2020 and 2021, members of Congress voted on six relief bills together worth nearly $6 trillion. Congress also authorized more than $10 billion to help drug companies develop and distribute vaccines and forced health insurers to cover the cost of getting the shot.
To skirt regulations, these politicians use proxies, like a wife or husband, to trade for them. But it is clear that their investments follow the policies which they push.
As a libritarian they believe you have a duty to protect others, and pay for their education, and give them free food, and cover all of their medical expenses, and...
Force them to work on collectivist farms for the good of the country.
Free shots too, mostly from 7MM's though. Although in a pinch for a quick shot, a 9MM works! All good for the general society, not so much for the individual.
You guys aren't even trying any more.
Or even pretending to try.

Well, lookee here at this here anniversary!
Thank you FDR and Earl Warren!
The libertarian case for slavery.
Beat me to it by a refresh.
Libertarian case for slavery anyone?
Well, it's a thing people do, and we think people should be allowed to do stuff. And if they appear not to want to do stuff, the burden of proof is on those who say they don't. Innocent unless proven guilty.
Somin has been pretty quiet on the Biden literal concentration camps for immigrants. Too busy coming up with shit explanations and instances of why mandated injection of emergency use treatments that aren't particularly effective against a disease that has a low fatality rate, it seems. Not effective in that vaccinations do require boosters, but not every few months. A better headline may have been 'A liberal and a libertarian debate vaccine mandates: the liberal defends the Chicken Little approach to life.'
vaccine mandates in certain cases because he believes they're a relatively "small infringement on freedom" and are preferable to harm reduction strategies like mask mandates and lockdowns, which he sees as posing a greater threat to our liberties.
Both are threats to liberty. Especially on this case where it has lasted 22 months and there is no correlation between measures taken and policy enacted.
Stop giving them excuses. It is anti liberty no matter how one looks at it.
Forced injections are fine because hey we aren't Australia. - Somin
Notice the slight of hand here. "preferrable" to lock downs and mask mandates? Prof Somin is thanking the hostage taker for not beating him more, and thinks it is logic.
As Barron Harkonnen said, "Raban! I put you in charge of Arrakis. It's yours to squeeze as I promised. I want you to squeeze, and squeeze, and SQUEEEEZE...Drive them into utter submission. Do not show the slightest pity or mercy....Go..Go...SHOW NO MERCY. And when we've crushed these people enough, I'll send you Feyd, sweet Feyd."
The Barron's plan was to crush the spirits of the people so fully that they would welcome his nephew as a Savior. If Prof Somin had any awareness he would realize how sad his part is in this play.
Fuck Ilya Somin. And Joe Biden.
Why so cranky and disaffected, Gaear?

"In fact, most of our COVID findings have come from Israel and scientists abroad," he wrote in a New York Post op-ed Dec. 8 decrying "turtle-speed bureaucracy."
It's baffling that the National Institutes of Health or CDC has not "mobilize[d] any of their 7,000-plus scientists" to quickly answer how antibodies from vaccines and natural immunity respond to Omicron, said Makary, editor-in-chief of MedPage Today. There's not even a "real-time data dashboard" on Omicron cases.
https://justthenews.com/government/federal-agencies/ex-biden-officials-medical-experts-savage-feds-politicizing-covid
Makary blasted the CDC for consistently releasing "tardy and incomplete data, missing key information on risk stratification, the role of obesity and a breakdown of child deaths by comorbidity as we imposed blanket restrictions on 72 million children."

Two articles in a row on this debate and neither one can be bothered to report the results?
Pre Post Change
Yes 15.6% 28.0% 12.2%
No 52.4% 67.1% 14.6%
Undecided 31.7% 4.9% -28.6%
So No won but not by a statistically significant amount.
How do you determine statistically significant?
Ans: you can’t.
If Reason was run by real libertarians they'd be investigating the fraudulent election, Hunter Biden's evil deeds, Ashli Babbitt's execution, the political prosecution of peaceful tourists, and they'd be telling their readers to vote for Trump in 2024.
They're not real libertarians.
Which one of those topics are of no concern to a libertarian? I like you through the last one in but can't find a single post saying trump 24.
Youre broken.
Well they would be debating keynsian economics, the Fed, endless wars, the Israeli lobby in the US having a toxic impact on our foreign policy, the trashing of the 4th Amendment, and yes govt schools and the physical and mental abuse of children that goes on there. Toss is a broad based attack on cultural marxism, academia, the corporate media and yes they would be libertarians.
Not to mention conservatives being attacked at work, in entertainment, in the media, and everywhere else. Real libertarians would defend conservatives in school and in the hospital.
The fact that Reason has never run a single article from the conservative point of view means that they're all progressives.
It's the only explanation.
0-5 on strawman so far.
But you're only here to discuss ideas.
"It's the only explanation."
I know you're deliberately trying to be retarded, but yes.
Occam's Razor.
A person (or website/magazine) could be anti-Trump, and still concerned about election fraud/chicanery, corruption affecting presidential candidates/presidents, police shooting unarmed protesters, and politically motivated/biased enforcement/prosecution of rioters at mostly peaceful protests.
But you forget that tu quoque is not a fallacy, it's a convincing argument.
So if a person (or website/magazine) is anti-Trump, WELL WHAT ABOUT?!?!?!
Will you fucking learn what tu quoque is already.
No.
I don't think he's physically capable. The booze burned out that part of the brain.

Chumby does. Pretty sure he's a Mainer. But he's got me on mute. You know, virtue signaling to Ken.
Virtue signaling to Ken. Not because sarc is an annoying tool or anything like that.
Everyone needs a purpose in life.
Can you link to any libertarian here saying such a thing?
I just did.
Oh come on. You're not a true libertarian. You don't go around yelling "Fuck Joe Biden" while waving around a "Trump 2024" flag. That's what true libertarians do.
I know. I have fallen short of standards.
It's easy to be a true libertarian. Just regurgitate Sean Hannity.
That’s fucking rich.
Because it’s fun to pick on tards?
This.
And the libertarian discussions in the comments not made by said retards.
Indeed.
Pretty much.
I see nothing in that list that contradicts standard libertarian thought.
You could try harder.
There’s plenty in the list that contradicts thoughtfulness in general. There is plenty that contradicts not being a gullible dupe for Team Red.
So you don’t think Hunter Biden has been involved in some shady shit?
We already know you don’t care about unarmed protesters being shot by cops or other protesters being held without bail for going on 12 months (and no, I’m not talking about the people that committed assault or destroyed property).
Oh yeah?
Well whatabout when you didn't ask for rioters to be put to death, huh? That means you want all the Jan 6 tourists to be put to death!
And whatabout when you didn't condemn mandates with sufficient emotion? That means you support killing people who don't comply!
It's all in what you don't say! What you don't say says it all!
Just invite him to ministry ready. Fuck.
Next you're going to tell me Alex Jones is a libertarian.
More libertarian than you, sarc.
More evidence exists in the affirmative than the negative, unless you genuinely believe libertarian is synonymous with "trust the experts".
There is a gulf between "trust the experts" and conspiratory nonsense.
*conspiratorial*
How does this McArdle get through a day (stop signs, traffic signals, 'no parking' signs, crosswalks, center lines, public nudity prohibitions, vaccine requirements for schoolchildren, taxes) without melting into a fetal position of heaving sobs?
I guess she just has that "fall seven times, stand up eight" attitude.
You'd know something about that. After all, you continue posting here despite whiffing badly on your prediction of getting the 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th Supreme Court justices within Biden's first six months.
#Oops
It continues to post here because it has nothing else, like any other progressive 'the personal is political' motto of the 2nd wave (hysterical given its sexism) is on the nose. The political is personal for clowns like it, and despite its lies, it has no life, nothing to keep it going but its hatred.

Look at that! No media coverage at all! If Trump had done that it would be on every liberal media site! But this? Nobody's heard of it!
Look at the strawman. Youre fucking worthless.
Strawman? Not sarc. He chugs his liquor. No straws involved.
Doesn’t even see the irony he used a British publication.
To be fair, I searched and found multiple articles.
Problem is that sarc pushed a strawman.
Such a stupid premise. Reason shouldn't have covered this debate at all.
What debate?
When you're right there's no need to have a debate or conversation with anyone who disagrees with you. What's the point? If they disagree then they're stupid, uninformed, irrational, emotional, and evil. What other explanation is there?
So fuck Reason for even bringing the to light! They're progressives for even allowing the question to be thought!
Put the plastic bottle vodka down and go home to your 1B apartment.

Nah passed out by midnight
Sorry about your mom. That must suck.
I thought you muted everyone.
Poor sad sarc.
Stage 3 of gaslighting lefty. Fake empathy.
It's midnight in main! Sarc are you still up? Or has the boons farm gotten to you
Man, you might want to deal with your anger issues, son. Being so pissy that people are not kind to your boos who write for Reason is likely unhealthy.
They shouldn't have run the article. Debate like this shouldn't even be acknowledged because anyone who thinks there is a case for vaccine mandates is a subhuman progressive who is better off dead. Best to act like the question was never asked. Anyone who disagrees politically isn't even a human being. They're scum. Vermin. Haven't you learned anything from Ken?
You need to check into a clinic.
anyone who thinks there is a case for vaccine mandates is a subhuman progressive who is better off dead.
Well, show me the lie.
So you see no problem with murdering anyone who supports vaccine mandates?
It's funny you can't even see what the words mean when they're literally your own words.
See, I think it would better to be dead than to support the state having coercive pressure over what substances you're allowed to have in your own body. That doesn't mean I'm in favor of forcing that choice onto others, I just think it would be preferable. Because I understand there's a huge difference between advocating for the use of prophylactic care and MANDATING the same.
I'm not in favor of a class of people using force against any other class of people. It's very easy to be consistent in principles when you love liberty.
When large government institutions (or private sector for that matter) have a massive failure (911, Pearl Harbor) they always do three things: First is overreact in ways that don't help the situation (Patriot Act), Two they double down on the most expedient way of showing they have the situation under control and are competent, and third when the first two fail they find a scapegoat or a distraction.
It is the same gamebook time and again. Covid isn't anything new.
What is interesting is it has all failed. The overreaction esp with schools and work have had massive unintended consequences, the double downing on vaccines instead of a more balanced approach with aggressive treatments (monclonial and yes perhaps ivermectin) was pushed aside, unless distractions (masks) and then the scapegoat when it doesn't work..the unvaccinated.
And Ilya supports this shit? Man the guy needs to go back to the USSR and get his pravda drip
No, stupid. Debate participants don’t choose the topic or the position they take. It’s assigned.
No if individualist, yes if collectivist.
Judging by who took what position, we can see who holds what beliefs.
Internment camps are a relatively "small infringement on freedom" and are preferable to harm reduction strategies like ethnic cleansing and genocide.

We get it.

‘WE REMEMBER A UNITED STATES THAT FOUGHT THE NAZIS’: A GERMAN SCHOLAR OF FASCISM WEIGHS IN ON CHRISTIAN NATIONALISM IN THE U.S.
Brockschmidt lists several signals, structures and characteristics of American Christian Nationalism that overlap in worrying ways with fascism. The “myth of a golden past,” is a big one. “[Calling for a return to] how the country used to be when in fact it’s a version that never was. It’s used to divide the country into us and them.” I found this particularly interesting because it goes to the heart of Christian Nationalism—attempting to return America to a Christian nation that never existed. As I’ve written elsewhere, America can never be a Christian nation because the moment it becomes a Christian nation it will cease to be America.
Alongside this myth is the tendency to paint outgroups as “not real Americans.” A third marker is the veneration of “law and order, which really just means being tough on a certain portion of the population, not on crime.” Brockschmidt also mentions other “dog whistles used to stoke fear, resentment, and anger against outgroups [in order] to strengthen the feeling of togetherness of [the] ingroup.” Another marker of incipient fascism is “anti-intellectualism,” which can be seen in the “crusade in universities against wokeness and against critical race theory,” and, more broadly, against science, vaccines, and the pandemic itself.
One marker that interested me in particular was the “creation of unreality or a separate reality,” as she put it, because we’re living in a disinformation age. The Trump era was—or is, depending on how you mark its boundaries—the era of alternative facts, founding myths, the Big Lie, and QAnon. That observation strikes a chord for Brockschmidt because “QAnon is the 2021 version of the blood libel,” a chilling observation given her credentials. “Blood libel refers to the false allegation that Jews used the blood of non-Jewish, usually Christian, children, for ritual purposes. The Nazis made effective use of the blood libel to demonize Jews,” according to the US Holocaust Memorial Museum. Brockschmidt says, “This narrative is returning, being recycled.”

Great source! The German socialist that want to ban religion is calling others Facist!
Because demanding that people undergo medical treatment that could save their lives is the same as murdering people based upon their race. You're so perceptive.

US Jefferson secularists don't want to ban religion. We just distrust government when it becomes an agent of religion.

The most significant unreality was the Russian hoax that engulfed the Congress and press for more than 2 years. By contrast the Qanon stuff was almost completely ignored.
State Sen. Doug Ericksen, a stalwart conservative, former leader of Donald Trump’s campaign in Washington and an outspoken critic of COVID-19 emergency orders, died Friday. He was 52.
Ericksen had said last month that he tested positive for the coronavirus while on a trip to El Salvador, although his cause of death was not immediately confirmed on Saturday.
“We are heartbroken to share that our husband and father passed away,” Ericksen’s wife, Tasha, and his two daughters said in a prepared statement Saturday. “Please keep our family in your prayers and thank you for continuing to respect our privacy in this extremely difficult time.”

North Korea Bans Laughing for 11 Days to Mark Kim Family Anniversary: North Korea has banned its citizens from laughing for 11 days as the country commemorates the death of Kim Jong Un's father, Kim Jong Il, according to Radio Free Asia's Korean Service. “In the past many people who were caught drinking or being intoxicated during the mourning period were arrested and treated as ideological criminals," the resident said. American progressives approve.
Conservatives and progressives joined up to enact Prohibition. Don't forget, conservatives are the biggest killjoys ever to exist - from Southern Baptists to their Taliban brethren.
No, no, no. That's all progressives. Everything bad in the world is because of progressives. Haven't you learned anything from Ken's daily essays?
Oh shit, I lost my mind for a moment.
Ken has me on mute. I need to aks him how to donate to the GOP but he won't get my question.
He mutes anyone who applies reason and logic to is irrational screeds.
Still ironic.
I have been around long enough to see the loudest support for ideological conformity switch from old-school conservatives to woke progressives. Over those same decades the left (except, of course for dedicated socialists) changed from champions of hands-off, anti-government policies to promoters of state control of speech, and just about everything else.
Then you weren't paying any attention over the last five when conservatives gave up all of their principles and became a cult of personality.
If you repeat a lie enough...
Is it because you found put your 4 years of anti trump hate were predicated on lies? How you ignored policy and caved to repeating media narratives?
I dont remember you ever even giving principles. But you sure as fuck don't have them now.
You'll admit to overt you think the left is worse and then push every leftist talking point to attack those who agree the left is worse.

If anything he posts isn’t a lie, it’s totally accidental.
turd lies; it’s what he does. turd is a lying pile of lefty shit.

Joe Manchin just came out and publicly stated that he won't back the Build Back Better bill. This is the first time he's ever said that. It's not that he will back it under this revision or that revision. It's not that he'll accept it so long as . . .
Joe Manchin will not support Build Back Better.
"WASHINGTON—Sen. Joe Manchin (D., W.Va.) said he won’t support his party’s “Build Back Better” plan, a decision that could doom President Biden’s top domestic-policy priority.
“This is a ‘no’ on this legislation,” Mr. Manchin said on Fox News Sunday. “I have tried everything.”

Ding dong
The witch is dead.
The wicked witch is dead!
I haven't felt this good about something in politics since Hillary Clinton lost. Build Back Better passing would have been the worst thing to happen to libertarian capitalism since the Great Society and the New Deal, and seeing it dies is the best outcome for libertarian capitalism possible. with progressives dominating the government.
Libertarian capitalists everywhere owe a great debt of gratitude to the good people of West Virginia. Manchin isn't any more principled than the next politician. He just fears what the voters of West Virginia (who voted 70/30 in favor of Trump last year) would do to his political career if he relented. God bless the good people of West Virginia. If this defeat is real, then the American people got much better than we deserved because of the people of West Virginia.

Fox News: "So you're done. This is a no?"
Joe Manchin: "This is a no".
Santa showed up early, everybody.
Merry Christmas!
Yes. Thank the people and shower contempt on Manchin. He's a subhuman Democrat. The only possible reason for him doing the right thing is the people of West Virginia. He's scum. Vermin. The enemy. He's stupid, irrational and evil. The world would be better off if he was dead.
Ideas!
Don’t forget he lives in a sweet yacht, so we should also have envious hatred on that count.
He's a fucking Democrat. That means he's a piece of shit. The only way to save the country is to get rid of Democrats. I mean literally get rid of them. Like revolution style. If you read Ken's posts, killing them all the only option. Even when they do the right thing it has to be for the wrong reasons, because they're just inherently bad people. They are the cause of every problem in the world. There is only one way to save the country and the world, and that is to rid it of progressives.
Notice how sarc has to conflate Democrats with Progressives so that he can lump Manchin in with the people Ken rails against........
Did you even read Ken's posts? He gave all the credit to McConnel and the people of West Virginia while treating Manchin with contempt. Ken can't even acknowledge when someone on the other team does something right. He has to give credit to anyone else.
Ken has made it pretty clear that all Democrats are progressives, and that all progressives are subhuman scum. They cannot be reasoned with. Their minds cannot be changed. And they vote.
The implications are pretty clear. Whether he really means it or not, he's making a case for the murder of millions. But it's ok. They're not people. They're progressives.
They're not people. They're progressives.
Once brain function is gone one is not a person, so pretty damned close.
McConnell deserves some credit for this, too.
If the progressives had been able to include the legislation to raise the debt ceiling in the Build Back Better bill, Joe Manchin probably would have voted for it. Once McConnell gave the Democrats a way to vote on the debt ceiling--outside the Build Back Better bill--it took away the most compelling reason why Manchin (and Sinema) would have voted for Build Back Better.
The Democrats would have raised the debt ceiling even without McConnell's help, only this way, Build Back Better is dead. And that's the best that can reasonably be hoped for when the Democrats control the Senate, and the progressives control the House and the White House.
I despite McConnell for what he's done in the past on TARP, etc., but he deserves some serious respect for orchestrating this outcome--without Republican control of the Senate. McConnell just double jumped to stop a scoring run in the biggest anti-socialist game in 55 years. We tend to only remember the things people did that resulted in something, but the best plays in the world are sometimes made to prevent what would have happened.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wl4A25cXBX4
That was a great play, McConnell.
Thank the Republicans! They get all the credit! Manchin is a dirty scumbag! Fuck him! He only did the right thing because of the Republicans! Republicans are the source of all the good in the world and progressives like Manchin are the cause of all evil!
All hail Republicans!
All hail Republicans!
All hail Republicans!
Broken
Bevis, this is what you're fucking defending lol. God damn.
Wrong! You're a liar Manchin! You were going to vote for it the whole time, but McConnell outmaneuvered your lying progressive ass! All credit goes to Republicans you piece of progressive dogshit! Fuck you! Fuuuuuuuuuuck you!
Just pathetic.
Ken, let's wait until next years budget negotiations that grow with a lot of the BBB goods. The debt cap is already raised.
There's only so much the Republicans can do when they can't get anything passed without Pelosi's okay and Joe Biden's signature. They need to control one of the chambers in Congress or the White House to have any leverage. The best they can do in the meantime is limit the damage, and if giving them a way to raise the debt ceiling without passing the most socialist bill in 55 years was the best way to limit the damage, then they did exactly what they should have done.
This bill was not defeated from a position of weakness by accident. McConnell made some shrewd strategic moves to tilt things in favor of this bill dying, and everyone who blamed him for doing the things that helped this bill fail should be giving him credit right now. He deserves it.
If the debt ceiling is important at all, it's mostly because it prevents the creation and expansion of entitlements. If not letting them raise the debt ceiling outside of the Build Back Better bill would have led to the creation and expansion of entitlements, that would have been self-defeating and stupid. If the choice is between raising the debt ceiling or funding new socialist entitlement programs, the choice should be clear.
I am a libertarian capitalist, and that means I oppose socialism. A fat part of socialism is about central planning and the redistribution of wealth--and this was the most socialist bill in 55 years. Squandering a trillion on infrastructure is stupid, but negative consequences go away eventually. Socialist entitlement programs are never defunded, and the negative consequences go on forever. We'll be out of both Germany and Japan before we close down Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, EBT, rent subsidies, and free public school for everyone, and the Build Back Better bill was about creating more of those eternal programs forever--and using the government to force us to stop using fossil fuels, too.
The Democrats will still fore some bullets at us in 2022, but we dodged a nuclear missile. This was the worst thing the progressives were going to do to us, and it failed. I hate McConnell for what he's done in the past on TARP and other issues, but we should all drink a toast to him today. Integrity is about being honest regarding people we can't stand, and McConnell deserves some credit for this one. Drink a toast to the people of West Virginia while we're at it.
Last poll I saw said 60% of West Virginians supported Manchin on his opposition to Build Back Better--and 70% of the voted for Trump. We're probably talking about six out of seven Republicans in the state supporting a Democrat--for representing their interests. If the Democrats condemn him for representing the people of West Virginia, that may be their doom in swing states and swing districts. If the Democrats refuse to represent the views of their constituents on principle, why should swing voters support a Democrat?
Can't give any credit to Manchin. He's on the other team. Fuck that asshole. Seriously. Fuck him. He's a Democrat, which means he's a piece of shit and anyone who voted for him is a piece of shit. I mean, look at him. He's such a liar. He said he opposed the massive spending from the beginning but that's a lie. He secretly wanted it. And if it wasn't for the Republicans he would have voted for it too. Fucking asshole. All credit belongs with the Republicans because Manchin is a douchebag who should be murdered and buried in a shallow grave like every other progressive on the planet.
Fucking broken.
Santa Claus has delivered US citizens and taxpayers the best gift that many of us have hoped for since Biden/Pelosi/Schumer began their reign of tyranny.
Unreported in the national news was that a month ago a poll of WV voters found 74% opposed the disastrous $5 Trillion BBB (that Biden and the news media falsely claim costs $2 Trillion)
https://wvmetronews.com/2021/11/15/wv-voters-slam-biden-approve-of-justice-manchin-in-latest-mbe-research-poll/
I suspect even more WV voters oppose BBB now, and Manchin's 60% approval rating will increase further.
+1
Looks like Biden is getting ready to sell Poland and Estonia short--to avoid an embarrassing defeat in Ukraine.
"Moscow for the first time laid out in detail demands that it says are essential for lowering tensions in Europe and defusing a crisis over Ukraine, which Western countries have accused Russia of sizing up for a potential invasion after building up troops near the border. Russia has denied planning an invasion.
"The demands contain elements - such as an effective Russian veto on future NATO membership for Ukraine here - that the West has already ruled out.
Others would imply the removal of U.S. nuclear weapons from Europe and the withdrawal of multinational NATO battalions from Poland and from the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania that were once in the Soviet Union.
In Washington, a senior administration official said the United States was prepared to discuss the proposals but added: “That said, there are some things in those documents that the Russians know are unacceptable.”
https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-russia-usa-security/russia-tells-nato-to-leave-east-europe-stay-out-of-ex-soviet-union-idUKKBN2IW0Z9
It appears that--to the Biden administration--giving Putin a veto over Ukraine is "unacceptable", but withdrawing troops from NATO members Poland and Estonia (our two staunchest NATO allies) is under discussion?!
If Biden had the balls to draw a line in the sand, he should have done it with Nord Stream 2. Biden capitulated to Putin on Nord Stream 2 in the name of appeasement on Ukraine, and if it shouldn't be surprising that Putin just kept pressing his advantage after that, it should be even more abundantly clear that shirking our NATO commitments to two of NATO's most vulnerable members (Estonia and Poland), won't appease Putin either. He'll just do to Estonia and Poland what he's done and he's doing in Ukraine.
I don't think Biden really cares about the best interests of American security or our mutual defense obligations anymore. I think he's mostly just concerned with his reputation while he's still in office. If the next American president needs to deal with the aftermath of Biden selling Estonia and Poland to the Russians (and Estonia and Poland being reabsorbed into the Soviet Union 2.0), that's the next president's problem. Biden just wants peace in our time.
You know who else wanted to annex Poland?!
Jack posebic?
The US should get out of nato all together. Why should we pay for europs defense, and subsidies their crap?
That's a surprisingly libertarian position.
Er, I mean that's not libertarian because true libertarians are conservative Republicans!
You drunk retarded fuck, almost everyone you hate here is anti interventionist.
Trump had the same comments you retarded shit. You denigrated him for it dummy.
Trump left office threatening to pull us out of Germany.
It is not in our best interests to be in Germany even if going to Estonia and Poland is in our best interests.
Let the record show that I was correct about him being passed out before midnight
Lol. You win the pool.
Let the record show that you are a retard.
Drunk again already?
I just had a huge response to this wiped out by the squirrels. Suffice it to say, because France and Germany abuse the NATO privileges is no reason for the United States to give up the benefits of NATO to American security, with the deterrent effect of our missiles in Russia's front yard being one notable example.
NATO is part of the government's legitimate libertarian responsibility to protect our rights from the threat of Russian ICBMs. They can't launch ICBms against American targets without our European based missiles landing in Moscow before theirs land in the USA. Getting rid of that deterrent would be like defunding the police--shirking the government's legitimate libertarian duty to protect our rights from criminals.
Furthermore, Estonia and Poland have always met their NATO commitments. If anything, we should leave Germany to redeploy to Estonia and Poland. Estonia and Poland are likely to bear the brunt of any military conflict between the U.S. and Russia anyway. Our security interests and their are well aligned.
In short, I believe NATO is in the best interests of the United States, but there's no good reason why we should continue to suffer abuse at the hands of France and Germany. We'd probably be better off in Estonia and Poland anyway.
Shorter Ken: If you think the US should get out of NATO then you're a progressive and you're what's wrong with the world.
Agreed.
Germany can protect itself, as it has the EU's largest economy.
Germany also decided to become dependent upon Russian natural gas.
And the newly elected Chancellor of Germany wants a unified Europe, and to form a new Axis of power with Italy:
https://www.axios.com/social-democrats-win-germany-european-union-9f7d440b-8111-49cd-a878-98ec5af46218.html
That's why Scholz believes "the biggest, most important national issue of interest of Germany is the European Union," because "only with the bloc of 470 million that we are, do we represent and bring some weight to the table," Schmidt said.
Scholz could now join France’s Emmanuel Macron and Italy’s Mario Draghi at the center of a powerful pro-Europe axis.
You know who else was elected Chancellor of Germany and wanted to unite Europe by joining with France and Italy?
The benefits of NATO to American security? When was the last time Europe rushed to our aid? 1778?
Did you read the part about European based ICBMs?
Reagan's deployment of Pershing missiles in western Europe was one of the key events that led us to winning the Cold War the way we did--without an exchange of nuclear missiles. If there were a 50% chance of winning a nuclear war, the Soviet Union might have chosen that option rather than dissolution. One of the biggest reasons they couldn't was because although they didn't have missiles in Cuba, we had missiles near Russia in western Europe.
There were massive demonstrations in Western Europe against Reagan's missile deployments--which made those countries primary targets in the event of a nuclear exchange. Reagan went on tour around western Europe, effectively campaigning for European leaders who supported the deployments when the opposition tried to vote them out of office over it. The people of Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and elsewhere reelected leaders who supported the deployments. The people of Europe effectively endorsed the missile deployments in their countries--and we won the Cold War the way we did without a nuclear exchange to some extent because of it.
So, the last time NATO countries put themselves in harm's way for our defense wasn't 1980 - 1986, but that was a big deal. They have since helped us Afghanistan, which was a war of self-defense, even if I'm glad we left and it's over.
That's was subs are for, Ken.
King Charles X Gustav?
And now Quidditch is canceled because its inventor so transphobic that she thinks "women" means people who were born female:
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10324923/Quidditch-leagues-select-new-sport-response-JK-Rowlings-transgender-views.html
Although you would think they would cancel the Quidditch leagues because running around with a stick is dangerous, and the broomsticks don't actually fly.
They look like they're running around with their dicks in their hands.
Hey JesseAz, I thing you missed a couple. There's like one or two comments of mine that don't have a muted reply. It's so nice of you to do this you know. After I politely asked you to just leave me the fuck alone you've managed to reply to every single comment I've made. Literally every one. Shows everyone reading the comments that you're nothing but a worthless troll. You know? A regular person who matured past middle school looks at these comments and they're like "What's wrong with that JesseAz guy? He's got a real fucking problem."
F..king idiots. Who didn't see this coming?
Given that both US and Israeli intelligence confirmed with the IAEA that Iran stayed in compliance with the nuclear agreement unti the fat loser pulled us out in 2018, this must be news only to idiots.
"TEL AVIV — A growing number of former Israeli security officials are publicly faulting their government for opposing a nuclear deal negotiated in 2015 between Iran and world powers, and warning that economic sanctions on Iran are not deterring it from dangerously advancing its nuclear program.
While Israel had applauded President Donald Trump’s withdrawal from the accord in 2018, these former officials have concluded that his “maximum pressure” policy built primarily on sanctions has failed to prevent Iran from increasing the quantity and quality of its enriched uranium.
...The former Israeli officials say the 2015 pact had subjected Iran to restrictions and to international inspections that held in check crucial elements of the nuclear program, while enhanced sanctions have achieved far less.
“Today, it’s clear that maximum pressure did not yield its political objectives,” said Raz Zimmt, a former military adviser on Iran. He said the policy may actually have accelerated Iranian nuclear progress and that Iran now has the capability of producing enough fissile material for a nuclear bomb on four weeks’ notice.
...After 2018, Israel increasingly publicized its shadow efforts to hamper Iran’s nuclear progress. In the summer of 2020, a series of mysterious explosions took place at or near sensitive Iranian nuclear facilities. In November of last year, the country’s top nuclear scientist, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, was ambushed and killed in an assassination near Tehran that was widely attributed to Israel.
But the escalation of alleged sabotage attacks has coincided with unprecedented Iranian production of highly enriched uranium. Earlier this year, Iran enriched uranium to 60 percent purity, approaching the 90 percent purity level needed for a nuclear weapon, the International Atomic Energy Agency said in August. The nuclear deal limits Iran’s enriched uranium to 3.67 percent, a level suitable for use as fuel in its nuclear power plants — the ostensible purpose of its program — and sharply restricts its stockpile of the radioactive material.
U.S. warns it has ‘tools’ to deal with Iran if nuclear talks fail
Maj. Gen. Amos Yadlin, the former head of Israeli military intelligence, said on Channel 12 last week that the “issue of material is maybe already behind us. Israel needs to focus on the weaponization phase,” referring to techniques for delivering and triggering a bomb.
Danny Citrinowicz, the former head of the Iran branch of Israel’s military intelligence unit, said the attacks on targets in Iran have played into the hands of that country’s hard-liners, who sought to accelerate the nuclear program and opposed the 2015 agreement.
“History has proven that the attacks were maybe a kind of tactical miracle, like James Bond movies, but they were strategic failures,” said Citrinowicz, now a senior research fellow at the Institute for Policy and Strategy in Herzliya. “Even if they delayed the nuclear program for one week or one month, then what?”
He said that Western isolation from Iran also contributed to the weakening of pragmatic Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his allies, and to the presidential election victory in June of ultraconservative Ebrahim Raisi, a disciple of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s hard-line supreme leader. Khamenei has long argued that the “Zionist regime” in Israel is a “cancerous tumor” that should be “uprooted and destroyed,” and he maintains that the West cannot be trusted...."

Wait... you still think that the treaty Iran was openly violating every year it existed was actually working? Lol.
Both US and Israeli intelligence confirmed with the IAEA that Iran stayed in compliance with the nuclear agreement Jesse. This is public knowledge.
https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2017/07/17/537793465/state-department-certifies-irans-compliance-with-nuclear-deal
"The IAEA quarterly report on Iran’s nuclear program, released publicly just days after Amano’s statement, contains additional details demonstrating that Iran is abiding by the deal’s terms. It notes that Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium is below the 300-kilogram cap set by the JCPOA and that Iran has not enriched uranium above the limit of 3.67 percent uranium-235, far below the 90 percent level considered useful for weapons purposes.
The report notes that the agency has had access to “all the sites and locations in Iran which it needed to visit.”
https://www.armscontrol.org/act/2019-04/news/iaea-says-iran-abiding-nuclear-deal
Lol. They were acknowledged by almost every agency to having violated almost every term.
https://www.voanews.com/a/middle-east_un-agency-iran-uranium-stockpile-still-violates-nuclear-deal/6198256.html
Here is Iran openly flaunting the IAEA in 2017.
https://www.latimes.com/world/asia/la-fg-iran-nuclear-20170830-story.html
Are you simply ignorant or just a lying shit?
Ahem, 'and,' not 'or.'
Jesse, your 1st clip is after Trump broke the deal and exactly the point. In fact they have been ramping it up ever since. The 2nd is about a Trump gimmick to focus on military sites which Iran had a right to deny without due warning in the deal:
"Trump has argued that Iran is violating the agreement struck under President Obama, although he has offered no evidence to support his claim and his administration has twice certified to Congress that Iran is in compliance.
But Trump administration officials looking for a way to increase pressure on Iran have begun to zero in on military facilities that they say could be used for nuclear-related activities barred under the agreement."
The first clip discusses how they had openly violated it since the deal was struck. They just didn't have to pretend anymore dummy.
And we had evidence as below links show dummy.
More.
Although the IAEA said it has the power to carry out snap inspections anywhere in Iran it deems necessary, Tehran had denied it access to the two sites for seven months until the deal was struck for access on specific dates this month.
“As part of an agreement with Iran to resolve safeguards implementation issues specified by the IAEA, the Agency this week conducted a complementary access at the second location in the country and took environmental samples,” the IAEA said in a statement, Reuters reported.
So you see Iran openly delaying and forcing iaea to not compromise on inspections. In 2017.
https://english.aawsat.com/home/article/2537991/iaea-inspects-second-suspected-atomic-site-iran
Iran never acted in good faith moron.
Jesse, the deal did not require good faith from Iran as it included full time IAEA inspectors on site. This article is about inspecting a site where activity was suspected in 2003 or 12 years before the agreement.
Holy fuck you are stupid. Iran openly denied inspectors, thats what the article is about stupid.
Here is the UN in 2016 stating Iran was violating the deal.
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-iran-nuclear-idUSKBN1342T1
Your gaslighting is amazing Joe.
There's a sub-population of left-leaning sorts who are of the opinion that having some sort of agreement or oversight, even if Tehran simply ignores or violates it, is better than none at all. They cannot see that it is in fact the same thing as having none at all, but with a lot of wasted effort.
Hank:

The report notes that the agency has had access to “all the sites and locations in Iran which it needed to visit.”
Amano also continued to defend the importance of the IAEA’s independence in evaluating information related to its efforts to monitor peaceful nuclear activities. He emphasized that the IAEA “undertakes analysis and takes action in an impartial, independent, and objective manner.”
"The Trump administration certified to Congress late Monday that Iran has continued to meet the required conditions of its nuclear deal with the United States and other world powers."

Jesse, this one is about the IAEA dis covering 131.1 toms of nuclear water on site when they were to be limited to 130 tons. Iran agreed without dispute to remove 5 tons.
"The IAEA is policing the restrictions placed on Iran’s nuclear activities under the deal it signed with the United States, Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany. The agreement also lifted international sanctions against Tehran.
Iran told the agency it would prepare to transfer 5 tonnes of heavy water out of the country, as provided for in the deal, and a senior diplomat said Iran planned to carry out the shipment in the coming days.
A U.S. State Department spokesman, speaking at a regular news briefing in Washington, confirmed Iran’s intention to export the excess heavy water.
Iran plans to ship heavy water out of country within days, diplomat says
Iran plans to ship out excess heavy water noted in watchdog report: U.S.
“It’s important to note that Iran made no effort to hide this, hide what it was doing from the IAEA,” spokesman Mark Toner said."
You are a gaslighting fuck. Youre the type of idiot that Obama relied on to gaslight people. You can be given evidence after evidence and you push a narrative of compliance instead.
You are actually more dishonest than Jeff.
I accept your poor loser retreat Jesse. It's what we expect from MAGA.
JesseAz is nothing but a troll that uses logical fallacies like strawmen, ad hominem and switching the burden of proof to make his arguments. Without fallacies he's have nothing.
You’re just too precious sarc.
And once again you prove your idiocy as I provided sources you ig orange leftist that.
Twat*
Lpl what retreat Joe? I linked you evidence idiot. You denied it like a shallow ignorant leftist. What the actual fuck? Ignorant denial isn't a winning argument Joe.
Joe is terrible. I'm sure he's lied about his expert contractor status too he's pretty much one of the few worth muting.
So an experimental vaccine injected as a pre-condition to employment and access to the public square, a vaccine that is so safe the manufactures have to be granted legal immunity, a vaccine so safe negative reactions are not documented, is a "small infringement on freedom"?
I wonder what he considers the internment camps in Australia?
A free vacation?
Remember that time the progressives all shit their pants at the same time--when Hillary Clinton lost? They're doing the same thing now over Manchin killing Build Back Better.
Read the following article.
https://www.cnn.com/2021/12/19/politics/joe-manchin-build-back-better/index.html
Pants shitting Exhibit A:
Bernie Sanders is telling Manchin that he'll have to face the wrath of the voters of West Virginia if he doesn't change his mind--but 70% of West Virginians voted for Trump and the people of West Virginia support Manchin on opposing BBB by a wide margin.
As I linked yesterday, even Daily Kos admits this.
Pants shitting Exhibit B:
Pramila Jayapal, leader of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, is calling on the Senate to hold a vote on Build Back Better to force Manchin to actually vote against it--without realizing what the impact of that is likely to be moderate Democrats in purple and red districts and states in the Midterms.
The reason they don't like to vote on things that won't pass anyway is that the Republican challenger can't effectively campaign against them for voting for the Green New Deal if they never actually voted for the Green New Deal.
Knowing that the bill won't pass the Senate, now, plenty of moderate Democrats in the House won't vote for it--and even fewer will vote for it in the Senate now that they know it won't pass.
What if they held a vote and a lot more than just Manchin voted against it? How embarrassing for the progressives!
They're all lining up, one by one, to shit their pants on cable television. They're shitting their pants in large groups, too. It's pants-shitting extravaganza! And we haven't seen Hollywood get in on the pants shitting. There are all the influencers on social media who are yet to get in on the pants-shitting.
Watch the stupid shit our politicians say over next couple of days. I'm sure the pants-shitting from our resident progressive trolls will be epic. Don't argue with them when they predict all sorts of terrible shit because we aren't transforming into a socialist state. Just LOL at 'em and enjoy those laughs. I'm tellin' y'all, if all the pants-shitting we're about to see doesn't make you laugh your ass off, you've got a heart of stone.
"Progressive independent Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont harshly criticized Manchin for revoking his support, saying "I think he's going to have a lot of explaining to do to the people of West Virginia" and calling on Democrats to put the bill to a floor vote to pressure Manchin into voting no on the record.
"I hope that we will bring a strong bill to the floor of the Senate as soon as we can and let Mr. Manchin explain to the people of West Virginia why he doesn't have the guts to stand up to the powerful special interests," Sanders told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union" Sunday.
"If he doesn't have the courage to do the right thing for the working families of West Virginia and America, let him vote no in front of the whole world," Sanders added.
----Ibidem
LOL
It shouldn't be funny to watch an old man shit all over himself on national television, but we're talking about a self-described socialist here.
"I hope that we will bring a strong bill to the floor of the Senate as soon as we can and let Mr. Manchin explain to the people of West Virginia why he doesn't have the guts to stand up to the powerful special interests,"
---------
Especially hilarious when we're talking about a multi-trillion dollar bill that's packed to the gills with payoffs to special interests......
The state has been devastated by the loss of coal jobs.
Why would they support elements of the Green New Deal?
"The House of Representatives last week passed the $2-trillion spending bill, which Democrats hope to enact through a “reconciliation” procedure to overcome a Senate filibuster. Only 28% of West Virginia voters generally support the Build Back Better bill"

Not the 1st time Ken has celebrated early or Libertarians here have demonstrated a weird and repetitive copraphilia, and another example of MAGA focus on enjoying their political opponents suffering, as if that was the primary reason to partake in democracy.
We'll see Ken, This isn't like the 2020 election, WHICH IS OVER.
Gonna cry?
Not for second Negro. I've been around the block plenty of times and unlike the Drama Queens who mostly inhabit this site, I don't confuse legislative set backs - which this not yet - and elections with the coming of the 4th Reich. Hey, I lived through segregation in the south and this ain't that. Can you relate to that?
Don't confuse Ken with libertarians. He's not. He's a militant conservative who would fully support a Final Solution to the Progressive Problem. Which is ironic with him being Jewish.
You really have embraced full leftist behavior.

C'mon boys! Start cheering! Just like a leftist would if they heard the same thing about Trump! You know you wish she was dead! We all know you wish she was dead!
But nobody except Sevo and Nardz are honest enough to say it.
C'mon you sick fucks. Be honest for a change and celebrate.
Just yesterday someone DID gloatingly post about a politician not only getting Covid but…. That was SPB2 and the politician wasn’t a Democrat.
Textbook tu quoque. Very nice.
Oh dear, you really don’t know how to use that one, do you?’
Miserere nobis!!
Oh yeah? Well whatabout....
Your first post was literally a strawman whatabout comment made by you dummy.
Sarc literally can’t distinguish truth from falsehood anymore. If he ever could.
Wow you're dumb. The most we'll say is -- the jab didn't stop her from getting the virus, just like we've been saying for months and months.
Since Omi is extremely mild, she'll likely be fine -- just like nearly everybody else who gets it.
I don’t believe sarcasmic has ever claimed that fully vaccinated people can never be infected.
No he just prances around saying stupid shit like "If it's not 100% effective it's worthless!" while ignoring the truth that the jab doesn't stop transmission at all.
I guess you have your own special truth different from everyone else’s truth.

"Our vaccines are working exceptionally well," she said. "They continue to work well with 'Delta' with regard to severe illness and death, but what they can't do anymore is prevent transmission."
August 6.
I do wish she was dead (politically and culturally, if not corporeally), but for other reasons.
Why would anyone want her dead?
She's a great source of amusement (due to her hypocrisy, stupidity, and pretending to be an American Indian) and seems to be utterly powerless.
If she died, there would potentially be someone competent replacing her and with less baggage in their teepee

Just look at that. Shameless progressives must have spent a lot of time editing out the packed crowd, just like they did at his inauguration. Fucking progressives. They are the cause of all the evil in the world.
U.S. Senator Cory Booker has tested positive for COVID, according to a statement from the New Jersey Democrat. The announcement came after he started feeling symptoms Saturday.
“I learned today that I tested positive for COVID-19 after first feeling symptoms on Saturday. Fortunately, my symptoms are relatively mild,” U.S. Senator Booker said in a statement.
He said that he is fully vaccinated and received his booster vaccine recently.
“I’m beyond grateful to have received two doses of vaccine and, more recently, a booster — I’m certain that without them I would be doing much worse. I encourage everyone who is eligible to get vaccinated and boosted,” he said.

I wonder if he and Senator Warren attended the same event recently? Kind of strange to have two of these on the same day.
“Fortunately, my symptoms are relatively mild,” U.S. Senator Booker said in a statement.

The lucky 99%.
I really dislike the quote "I'm certain that without them I would be doing much worse"
Given that the vaccine doesn't seem to do anything to prevent the spread, it seems like the "duty to prevent harm to others" is not an actual issue.
I leave for 9 months and come back to read the stupidest headline I’ve ever seen.
Lol what a joke.
“2 libertarians”, fuck outta here.
It’s almost like they’re trying to make the term libertarian more meaningless than it’s already become. Almost.
