13 Non-Pedophile Reasons Why You Can Hate Roy Moore
Just when you thought you couldn't like Moore any less.
Even if you disregard the nine women accusing Roy Moore of sexual assault, there are plenty of reasons to despise him. Judicial incompetence, constitutional ignorance, and industrial strength bigotry are just some of the issues with the Alabama judge. In the latest Mostly Weekly Andrew Heaton covers some of the many reasons why Roy Moore sucks:
- He taught a class discouraging women from running for office.
- He's referred to people as "reds and yellows".
- He thinks the accusations of pedophilia are pushed by homosexuals and socialists.
- Accepted money from a Neo-nazi group.
- Said gay marriage was worse than slavery.
- Wouldn't rule out death penalty for gays.
- Wants to rescind free trade agreements.
- He's anti-immigrant.
- Believes Barack Obama wasn't born in America.
- Believes 9/11 is God's punishment for legalizing sodomy and abortion.
Mostly Weekly is hosted by Andrew Heaton, with headwriter Sarah Rose Siskind.

Even if you disregard the nine women accusing Roy Moore of sexual assault, there are plenty of reasons to despise him.
The left hates him which is the only reason I need to like him.
The left hates Hitler so you must love him. The left hates Kim Jong Un so you must like him. The left hates Putin so you must like Putin
But does it really? Think about it.
As a progressive lefty, I find many if Hitler's actions and views abhorrent.
However, I admire how he got things done.
As a progressive lefty, given the chance, you would ultimately do exactly the same things. Just maybe to different groups. You can't help it. It's just the way of soulless slavers who base their entire existence on envy, division, slavery, and identity politics.
Which is also why progressive lefties cannot be allowed to exist in any great numbers in America.
And Roy Moore isn't a tenth of the threat to our liberties as the "progressive" left.
Stupid millenials trade true liberties for "free college" and forcing people to bake cakes.
In contrast, even religious conservatives like Moore are against big brother.
Be afraid of Bernie Sanders and Kamilla Harris.
And it's not like Moore has any traction or backing to get anything wacky passed in the senate anyway. All he is, is a reliable yes vote on lower taxes, deregulation, etc.. it's not ok,e he will have the slightest authority to ban abortion, or take away homo's birthdays. He will be just one more senator who votes the way we need him to most of the time and periodically says some stupid sit in public.
Hardly a threat to libertarian values.
Agree Elias. All that matters is how someone will vote in the Senate. The rest is just contrived bullshit by the left to throw the focus off of Jones' liberal stance on most issues.
Dittos. Thinking strategically, since I'm not an Alabaman, I think one reason to vote for him might be to tone him down a little.
(Admittedly, it seems a hard choice...and a novelty. Most years, it's only in July and August that people in Virginia give thanks that we're not in Alabama.)
this post is gibberish
^^ Anyone who says they are progressive lefty on this board is not one.
Crusty hides his wingnut tendencies well.
While progressives can be huge douches there is no more of a scumbag alive than Roy Moore. And that includes Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey - at least they aren't trying to make laws to restrict freedom.
Lol
Please crawl back up Palin's butt and stay there.
Roy Moore fan? Loosen up some. He will win in Alabamastan.
Why don't you and Tony get together. After fucking each other's assholes, you would can engage in a ruder/suicide pact and shoot each other in the back. (Which will be the second load each of you shoots into the other's backside).
PB, for as bad as Moore may be, he is still better than every single progressive. While he has a number of bad ideas, your kind are slavers and genocidal maniacs. You also represent an existential threat to humanity.
Exactly.
I'm not even a Christian, nor do I live in Alabama, but I sent him a donation anyway.
Why? Because the Soros-backed accusers are as phony as a three-dollar bill. And we don't need a commie in the Senate to oppose Trump's agenda.
Do I agree with everything Trump is doing or has done? Not at all. But he is giving the deep state fits, and is rolling back regulations (as has even been noted on reason.com). So he is infinitely better than Hillary would have been, which is all I ask.
The left IS Hitler....
What's your opinion on the newer Halos? Did you play Destiny 2?
Once you go Hitlet/Stalin/Mao there is no left or right, it's just Hitler/Stalin/Mao
What about Super Hitler? He's just like Hitler, except he rides a flying Swastika covered motorcycle and is about a foot taller than regular Hitler.
The Ladies' Home Journal said as much in 1933: see "Homemaking under Hitler." Hitler may have been a socialist, but by gum he was a christian socialist like Eddie Bellamy, William Jennings Bryan and William Dean Howells.
Hitler was a Christian? That would be news to all historians and those close to him but a great line to disparage Christians:
"Adolf Hitler's religious beliefs have been a matter of debate; the wide consensus of historians consider him to have been irreligious and anti-Christian. In light of evidence such as his vocal rejection of the tenets of Christianity,[1] numerous private statements to confidants denouncing Christianity as a harmful superstition, and his strenuous efforts to reduce the influence and independence of Christianity in Germany after he came to power, Hitler's major academic biographers conclude that he was irreligious and an opponent of Christianity. Historian Laurence Rees found no evidence that "Hitler, in his personal life, ever expressed belief in the basic tenets of the Christian church".[2] Hitler's remarks to confidants, as described in the Goebbels Diaries, the memoirs of Albert Speer, and transcripts of Hitler's private conversations recorded by Martin Bormann in Hitler's Table Talk, are further evidence of his irreligious and anti-Christian beliefs; these sources record a number of private remarks in which Hitler ridicules Christian doctrine as absurd, contrary to scientific advancement, and socially destructive.[3]"
He was a good atheist progressive who believed in the State as religion.
Yet the left hates neither of those three. Bad examples.
Spoken like a person who either is trollining or who truly doesn't know shit about shit. The case of the latter:
- The Hilter one is just blatantly, self-evidently wrong.
- The Left in Russia revolted against Stalin and were violently repressed for their troubles. Not only that, they waged another, earlier revolt, as well as a full-on ground war, against Lenin during the Russian Civil War.
- Communist Party in China, like the Communist Party in Russia, went out of its way to denounce the "ultra-Left"; in other words, the part of China's Left that weren't going to stop criticizing the state just because it was a nominally left-wing state.
The hate Hitler, Lenin/Stalin, Mao and all the other arseholes because they murdered a few people.
Up until that point they loved them. Quite a lot.
But it is hard to look in the mirror when your favourite ideology constantly ends in slavery, starvation and death. So they now hate those who they once loved and hope that next time Comrade X will be the one to usher in the Utopian dream! What was the definition of insanity again?
That is of course if "Left" = Socialism / Collectivism / Fascism
And before you say "But Hitler was Right Wing!"
What does Nazi stand for?
Fascists and Communists/socialists are like Protestants and Catholics, like Sunni and Shia, like any two opposing fan bases, they agree on 95% of everything but they both want to win the ideological game.
Like George Orwell wrote "Fascism, which at its very best is Socialism with the virtues left out."
The Left idolizes Every Fascist and Nazi ever born in their sick little hearts. But then you never actually study what they really believe, scream, etc., and compare to the street thug, etc. of Europe. Antifa's fore-bearers were as fasicst and hardcore as their left wing opponents in the Nazi and communist ranks.
Yesterday I saw some old shitheap of a car with a huge pro-antifa sign on it proclaiming that they "stomp the skulls of the alt-right". Nothing but violent Marxist trash. I look forward to eventually delivering a savage beating to one of these losers when they bite off more than they can chew.
Hitler was a leftist. You know, National socialist. Anti free speech. Confiscated guns. Grew the state. The state comes before the individual.
News flash..... the left DON"T hate Hitler. If they did, they'd not be promoting one of his main tenets.. socialism, or nazism.
Let don't hate Kim John Il, either. They LIKE him and his idealogy.
the left DO hate Putin, but not for the reasons you think they do. Since he's been proving himself to be fairly aligned with the things Trump is working on, the left DO hate him.
FIRST, only two of the nine have actual accusations of sexual assault. One has been proven to have provided forged "evidence", the other has been seriously discredited as she has put forth information that is proven false.
Not one of the "reasons" given to hate him are valid. Some are reasons to like and support him.
He DOES know the Constitition... and with a few questions I can prove he knows it better than Reason staff. He also understands, per the Constituion, the limits placed upon judicial authority.
Barack Hussein Obama was, per credible reports, born in Kenya. The "evidence" proffered by him and his team has been proven a forgery, and false. So far there has been NO credible evidence to PROVE he was born in Hawaii or any other part of tjhe US. WHY does he use a stolen SSN from Massachussetts or Connecticit (can't remember which one)?

Exaggerated.
But also manages to leave out the worse thing about Moore, which is that he supported a religious test for serving in Congress, contrary to the Constitution (and good government):
http://www.wnd.com/2006/12/39271/
I know. I keep saying all the sex stories keep covering up all his awful politics.
I don't think Moore would have had much of a political profile if the federal courts had simply let him have a very small placard in his trial court acknowledging God.
Many voters voted for him as a way to stick a thumb in the eye of the federal courts. The more the federal and state judicial establishments went after him, the more the voters liked him.
I don't think Moore would have had much of a political profile if the federal courts had simply let him have a very small placard in his trial court acknowledging God.
Yeah, it seems like he hates the limelight.
I'm referring to why the voters kept electing him Chief Justice.
"Small placard." Yes.
Just want to get it out there that "small placard" was NOT my nickname on the nude beach.
He could've gotten away with the whole 10 Commandments thing if he'd only added a piece of art about Hammurabi and claimed that it was about legal history.
The more the federal and state judicial establishments went after him, the more the voters liked him.
Which just goes to show how very, very stupid the voters are.
^ One and done, son.
Which annoys me. I think he's lying about most of the allegations, but the fact that we're all focusing on alleged conduct instead of the stuff he's going to be doing as senator make me hate politics.
He's referred to people as "reds and yellows".
He's probably also referred to people as "blacks and whites".
"Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight."
Who is he, Wiz Khalifa?
Did you mean Queen Latifa?
You ain't a bitch or a hoe.
Straight outta Compton, a crazy mother...wait, who put that in the hymnal?
Oh, it's the latest Gather hymnbook, well, that figures.
Please, keep making these esoteric Christian sect jokes.
Let me make the joke broader:
If Christopher Hitchens had been asked to write hymns so bad as to drive people from church, he'd have said "nah, the hymns they have already are bad enough."
That's exactly how he defended it.
Of course, the song is about "Jesus loves the little children," giggle giggle.
"Suffer the little children ...."
You left out the best part: to come unto me!
Blasphemy!
Like.
I actually liked (clunky, not-fully-inclusive) "African-American" better than "Black," and think "Native American" is a lot less confusing than "Red"--but when people want to be hasty and use color terms, yes, my father's skin color was Red, and he was proud of it, and I only wish I'd inherited it. Other people of the same color may feel differently, but that's one vote that, if you're going to talk about Black and White, you might as well talk about Red, Yellow, and Brown too.
(Brown and Yellow types prefer "Asian." Native Americans are not Asian. It's not always possible to tell by looking whether a person is Native American or Asian. A good case might be made for talking about specific nations and ethnic groups rather than trying to identify people by color, too...at least when there's time to go into that sort of thing.)
The hilarity will accelerate when "Alabama speaks" next week.
I want Moore to win because:
His opponent is a Marxist piece of shit
It will help keep the democrats from gaining a senate majority
It will cause agony to progtards like PB and Tony. Progtards deserve endless suffering for their evil
It will help keep the democrats from gaining a senate majority
Singularly valid and viable reason right there. Democrats are already purging their ranks of anyone who's used any word that even rhymes with 'sex' in mixed company at work and are plotting out the electoral map. The stage is set for Her second coming.
They're tired of the GOP's inability to repeal Obamacare and general inability to get anything done. Once they have the Senate, we'll finally get to the bottom of the whole Russia thing and begin executing on those excellent plans they've had to put on hold these long months.
Yes, those are excellent reasons!
Seems to have gone down.
Only after asking her mother first.
*** ducks ***
I always wondered, if he always asked the parents first, why did he have to ring that one girl up at school? I mean if her parents were ok with it, why wouldn't he just call her at home?
It's weird, especially since that was an era when contacting a student at school meant calling the school itself, not the student's personal cell phone.
I was happy to see Heaton make a "You know who else..." joke.
I truly want to believe he reads our comments. I want him to know he's loved.
Of course he does. You know Heaton appreciates finely fermented humor.
So, secret Muslim?
Flamboyant Christian in fact.
Wants to rescind free trade agreements.
So, about the same level of economic literacy as Trump.
The so-called "free trade" agreements are not. They are targeted protectionism occluded by a few thousand pages of increased regulations.
I'm a Rothbardian deontologist AnCap, and I want them rescinded, too. Replaced with a half page repeal of all import duties and excises.
As long as other countries reciporicate, but that never happens so free trade agreements have to happen.
I think you left out when he said that life in the US was better when slavery was legal.
Link?
Link!
"I think [America] was great at the time when families were united ? even though we had slavery ? they cared for one another.... Our families were strong, our country had a direction."
That *does* sound bad.
"One of the only" is a meaningless phrase. And when people were talking about this quote, it was as though Moore was saying America was better because it had slavery.
Good catch with "one of the only." It should be "one of the few" or something.
The slave system, of course, separated families and one of the key things many slaves did when freed was to try to put their families back together.
I guess they bought into the myth that families are important. /sarc
He was saying that. He thinks slavery is fine. It's right there in the quote, it's better to have slave than to not according to him. "It was a simpler time when I could kick black people, women, and gay people if I wanted to" is the best way to paraphrase it given all his other fine utterings.
Nope. You're just adding in shit from a conversation you had with Moore inside your head (not a real one).
Well since slavery is still legal as a punishment for crimes we must be great now!
false equivalency, and not what we're talking about at all.
Still in use for the crime of being divorced
I think you left out when he said that life in the US was better when slavery was legal.
By that standard, leftists who bemoan the decline of unions think that life was better when racial discrimination and sexual harassment were legal and gay sex was not.
Obviously not for the slaves. Bad, careless, clumsy speech is grounds for not electing a politician...*if* you can find a better one.
So I read 4 + Eidde's post. It would be nice to hear about all that instead of, "he-said, she-said", which doesn't interest me in the least.
He taught a class discouraging women from running for office.
He's referred to people as "reds and yellows".
He thinks the accusations of pedophilia are pushed by homosexuals and socialists.
Accepted money from a Neo-nazi group.
Said gay marriage was worse than slavery.
Wouldn't rule out death penalty for gays.
Wants to rescind free trade agreements.
He's anti-immigrant.
Believes Barack Obama wasn't born in America.
Believes 9/11 is God's punishment for legalizing sodomy and abortion.
You know, Reason, I really can't say I have an issue with any of this. If anything, in light of modern developments, I'd say just about everything on this list either doesn't bother me, or endears him to me.
lol
Said gay marriage was worse than slavery.
at some point in the more enlightened future this will be the premise of a gay black woman comedian's stand-up bit
Do you live in Alabama, Louisiana or Mississippi Kivlor?
Are you the Kivlor from Talk About Marriage?
No matter, you are right anyway. 🙂
I hated Roy Moore before it was cool.
I ridiculed people who hate Roy Moore before it was cool.
Even if you disregard the nine women accusing Roy Moore of sexual assault,
Except that the link you provided doesn't actually support your description. There is one woman who says he touched her rear end in his office and another who says he kissed her when she was eighteen. So along with the first woman who claimed that she went out with him when she was fourteen and the second one who just admitted to forging at least part of what she presented as his signature in her yearbook, that's a total of four accusers using a pretty broad definition of "sexual assault."
So it's not really so much a question of "disregard[ing]" the women making these claims as recognizing that the people pushing the story (of which Reason is sadly one) don't seem to have any qualms about exaggerating or outright lying about the accusations. The more you lie to smear a guy that you don't like (even if you feel justified because of his politics), the less likely people are to believe *anything* negative you report about him now or in the future.
And he took the butt grab woman's 12 year old child from her so...no animosity there right?
Framing a likely guilty man has its hazards, but they have personal objections to him so why contradict the media narrative?
So you pick one out of a dozen plus reasons that he is a prick and go "aha!"
Like. LIKE! I'm in favor of reclassifying these little personal assaults, put-down pats, patronizing, vulgar fake "endearments," stupid fake "flirting," as an abuse students and junior employees should not have to tolerate *now*...but trying to make them retroactive, claiming that they're in the same category as raping 8-year-olds, makes me queasy.
Pedophiles like prepubescents. He would be a ephebophiliac which is attraction to mid to late teens.
And really, who isn't?
Considering chickens don't live past the age of 20, you don't have much choice in the matter.
Man, even the gay men gettin' hit up for sexual assault.
If the witch hunt goes on, not only will "gays" catch the heat, but so will heterosexuals who may or may not have touched a younger/junior person of the same sex...forty years ago.
He taught a class discouraging women from running for office. Dick move.
He's referred to people as "reds and yellows". We talking commies and cowards, or Indians and Asians? (Frankly I don't really care, but I wanna know how many negative blips on my careometer I should give this.)
He thinks the accusations of pedophilia are pushed by homosexuals and socialists. That's deflection from the fact that he's into the young stuff.
Accepted money from a Neo-nazi group. I'd accept money from a Neo-Nazi group if they offered it to me. Just saying.
Said gay marriage was worse than slavery. Okay yeah that's a definitely stupid thing to say.
Wouldn't rule out death penalty for gays. Welp that's fucked up as hell.
Wants to rescind free trade agreements. Not a dealbreaker, but not really good. I'd say it's more negative than anything?depending, of course, on his justification. (His justification is probably statist in nature, at which point it flips to decisively negative.)
He's anti-immigrant. Not a dealbreaker; again, devil/details, SIV/chickens.
Believes Barack Obama wasn't born in America. Pete Carroll's a 9/11 truther, but he still has a job as the Seahawks head coach. That to me is more offensive because I know a guy named Pete Carroll who has taken shit over that.
Believes 9/11 is God's punishment for legalizing sodomy and abortion. Fucked up. Not a disqualification from office, no, but still PRETTY FUCKED UP.
Wouldn't rule out death penalty for gays. Welp that's fucked up as hell.?!!
Well, that's all I need to hear.
As do all good post millennial reconstructionists. Actually the death penalty list for them is pretty long but gays are right up there at the top.
I find it interesting that for a group of people who are trying to create a world that Jesus would be willing to come back to, they seem to have forgotten that Jesus' strongest condemnation wasn't for the sinners but for the Sadducees and Pharisees.
Yeah, everything I've read indicates that Obama was NOT born in USA, but in Kenya. His family clearly has loads of spook ties (Ford Foundation), his camp keeps deflecting from what should be an easy sell, so why the fuck is reason so team Left?!?! Trying to bask in reflected glory? At least Trump & Moore are hated and despised by the Deep State.
Interesting takeaway from that post.
Jews.
hehe they can't get off the "blame Obama" wagon. I'd take a pass on trying to convince him of anything reasonable.
If this is parody, thou hath parodied too well.
I can't imagine that a fake account would use 2 interrobangs. He must be both real, and genuinely fearful and questioning.
I defer to your experience as an FBI interrogator and/or LA Noire champion.
Sadly, that dude parodieth not.
"Wouldn't rule out death penalty for gays."
Should people be exempt from capital punishment based on homosexual proclivities? I'm sure the progressives believe so.
Ha ha. All that only makes me want to vote for Moore more! I wish I lived in Alabama just so I could vote for him.
You scumbags have to hang together.
PB, you shouldn't judge anyone. As a progressive, you're a member of one of the lot evil groups to ever exist. Like Tony, you should end your own life.
If you think this list is going to sway anyone planning to vote for Roy Moore, you've sorely misunderstood the basis for his support.
Broadly speaking, his supporters either approve of that list, or say that Roy Moore doesn't matter, just "-R" does.
But elections are binary choices between two candidates.
Who is Moore running against? I've never heard of 'em. Could be Hitler. Can I risk that? Of course not.
So, I kinda have to vote for Moore.
Sorry.
"Meanwhile, here are zero non-assaulty reasons to hate Al Frankenstein because...... well, because we love him and we'll be kind of sad to see him go."
Franken is no child predator.
Mikey, even someone as stupid as you are should know better.
He's kinda rapey though .
No, Franken is handsey.
I can't tell you how many chicks I have played grab-ass with. None of them thought I was going to rape them.
Like most bullshit in the media this shit is all about victimization when a little grab-ass was all that occurred.
I said he was "kinda" rapey; I know he's not man enough to go through with the full deed.
What more do you want from me? Quit whining, you little bitch.
Your mom, your older sisters, and your babysitters don't really count, Weigs.
Because getting handsy is nowhere near being kinda rapey.
Is the answer negative?
So you've never played grabass with anyone. Gotcha.
Translation: Sexual harassment is a-okay when it's someone I like doing it!
Pay your freaking bet.
Considering he advocates for straight up rape it would be strange if he wasn't okay with grab ass.
Mikey, did you meet this asshole Red Tony at a gay gloryhole?
I haven't done gloryholes for quite a while; I find them rather creepy and offputting. When I did them, I needed to be pretty drunk, and I gotta say I've never really had a good time on either end. I much prefer being able to look at my partners?really brings the whole experience home, even if they're not the best looking guys.
Of course, you wouldn't know what I'm talking about, would you.
even if they're not the best looking guys.
Don't hurt Mikey's feelings like that.
Haha. He's a FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAG
Wow, I feel honored. I've never heard of anyone actually using a glory hole for realz. Respect.
Fun fact: PB has a part time job as a glory hole attendant.
P.S. I and many others have already told you that you and the rest of your fellow scumbags in the JournoList have absolutely no credibility whatsoever on this issue, you dumb fucktard.
"I can't tell you how many chicks I have played grab-ass with. None of them thought I was going to rape them."
PB, putting Tony in a wig and a dress with some lipstick doesn't make him a chick.

I'll go with "hate on sight because he's an asshole"....
"Trump's speech just slurred significantly at the end of the speech he just gave. Notice how he says 'United States,' but his words were thick before that," wrote Jon Aravosis, a DC pundit.
"Aside from the constant sniffing, there was something seriously wrong with Trump's speech and mouth during that #Jerusalem announcement. Major slurring. Weirder than usual I mean," said Marcus Dysch, political editor of the Jewish Chronicle.
https://goo.gl/Uz8i4f
Der TrumpenFuhrer is entering his bunker phase, imo.
It reminds me Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi.
Haven't heard the hag in don't know when, but Pelosi is barely understandable.
You need some GyneLotrimin, Sevo.
Palin's Buttplug|12.8.17 @ 9:12PM|#
"You need some GyneLotrimin, Sevo."
You needed to be aborted, turd.
In most people, there are some redeeming traits. Not you, you steaming, lying, pile of shit.
Oh, and see below fuck-face; busted one more time.
I'm pretty sure Hillary Clinton's eyes require medication to stay together.
What do any of those things have to do w being a US senator?
In fact he'll be less of a threat in the US senate than as a state judge.
Apparently, even the US Senate has standards and don't want child predators to join their club.
Kind of like prisoner standards. Moore would be shived in a prison inside 2 weeks.
US Senate and prisons - similar standards.
"OK, maybe I wrote the word 'Moore' in the yearbook, but he was the one who wrote 'Roy,' I swear, and I'm not just mad at him for ruling against me in a divorce case.
"OK, I wrote the 'y' in 'Roy,' but he wrote the 'Ro.'
"Look, he signed with the letter 'R' and I filled in the rest, OK? Sheesh, it's like you don't believe me or something."
So why was that scumbag banned from Alabama malls in the 80s?
Ya know, turd, I despise Moore as one of those who chooses to push his personal superstitions upon others by the use of coercion.
But then I despise you as a lying piece of shit:
"Was Roy Moore Banned from a Shopping Mall for Harassing Teen Girls?"
[...]
"The report, however, is based on sources recalling a rumor, in some cases. Those rumors have been corroborated by news reports of accusations leveled at Moore by at least nine women who were in their teens and twenties at the time."
https://www.snopes.com/2017/11/17
/roy-moore-banned-mall-harassing-teen-girls/
Rumor is not "corroborated" by hearsay, and even your fave lefty source Huffpo is honest enough to waffle:
"Roy Moore May Have Been Banned From A Mall For Harassing Teen Girls In 1980s"
https://www.huffingtonpost.com
/entry/roy-moore-may-have-been-
banned-from-mall-new-yorker_us
_5a0aeaa4e4b0bc648a0da9f9
So, once again, turd, you been busted for lying.
Go fuck your daddy.
I think his daddy fucks him.
Sending Roy Moore to the US Senate is as libertarian as moment gets. Especially after chasing out Big Government Deep State authoritarian lackeys like Jeff Flakey
I heard that Roy Moore did one of those sweet capoeira dance kicks right into the faces of like FIFTY deep state agents.
While wearing nothing but a trench coat.
All these excuses and compromises for a 3 year senate seat.
It's hilarious.
If we don't debase ourselves for every seat then we'll never be in a position to do real good.
Whereas supporting the raging leftist Dem running against him doesn't involve any excuses or compromises?
Bingo. Everyone who is against Moore acts as if the alternative to him is some kind of inoffenisove moderate. As opposed to a far left marxisism enthusiast.
Really OT; North Korea.
I have no idea who this guy is, but the vid is worth it; he's honest about the pile of bullshit being shoveled.
But give at worst, mouse over to 11:38 for a libertarian rant:

Cosmotarian Cad Caught
Do you have any shtick other than claiming infantile labels?
In 1991, he joined an opinion that said cases should be decided from the point of view of the victim, using the "reasonable woman" standard. The Post quotes Kozinski's writings about sexual harassment in 1992 in which he said that men "must be aware of the boundaries of propriety and learn to stay well within them."
Wow. Didn't even try to mask the sex discrimination there, did he? In no other area of the law is a defendant expected to read someone else's mind to know which conduct is legal and which is illegal.
Apparently he (allegedly) liked discussing sex in a creepy way with young lady clerks.
I would normally wax philosophical about the line between free speech and harassment, but I would guess that the same behavior in the private sector would lead the judge to say the company was liable to the tune of...like, a lot of money. So I say: Judge him the same way he'd judge a widget company where the elderly supervisors enjoy discussing sex in a creepy way with lower-ranking young ladies.
So other than one set of made up bullshit I could also theoretically hate Roy Moore based on some other made up bullshit and totally misrepresented statements taken completely out of context? Thanks Reason!
Keep seeing the world through Roy Moore cum covered lenses, you'll go far.
He taught a class discouraging women from running for office.
Have any women been discouraged from running for office due to this class?
He's referred to people as "reds and yellows".
This one is just dishonesty on Reason's part. This was part of a list along with "blacks and whites", which was carefully edited out by Reason. Does Reason now characterize referring to a race using a color to be racist? If so, time to warm up the Google search bar and list your sins.
He thinks the accusations of pedophilia are pushed by homosexuals and socialists.
You don't think homosexuals and socialists are disproportionately against Moore in this election? And thus touting these accusations compared to, say, heteros and capitalists?
Accepted money from a Neo-nazi group.
Shouldn't you should be happy that the neo Nazis now have less money to spend on their neo Naziism? Or would you prefer that Moore donate the money back to them?
Said gay marriage was worse than slavery.
Again, complete dishonesty on Reason's part. He said Obergfell was a worse decision than Dred Scott. The Dred Scott decision did not create slavery.
Again, complete dishonesty on Reason's part. He said Obergfell was a worse decision than Dred Scott. The Dred Scott decision did not create slavery.
"I'm helping!"
Wouldn't rule out death penalty for gays.
So because he didn't give a specific answer in that interview, to a question the interviewer didn't ask, you assume he believes the opposite? Very leftist media.
Wants to rescind free trade agreements.
Widely held political position in both parties. Gotta think you're just throwing this one in to up the number.
He's anti-immigrant.
Linked to his position page which says nothing of the sort.
Believes Barack Obama wasn't born in America.
Who gives a shit at this point?
Believes 9/11 is God's punishment for legalizing sodomy and abortion.
Another misrepresentation. He said it might be a punishment for turning against God. Later in the speech, according to CNN's paraphrase (also likely dishonestly crafted) he says God is upset about sodomy and abortion.
"Another misrepresentation. He said it might be a punishment for turning against God."
"I'm helping!"
I was wondering how La Raz?n managed to haul in so much cash in so little time during the fundraiser despite the severe slowdown in the comments sections. They must have had some angels show up in the nick of time.
With this hit piece -- and little to no scrutiny of the guy Reason wants AL to vote for instead -- we know which political stripes those angels had.
"With this hit piece"
You could find this a "hit piece" if you hadn't bothered to read about the asshole long before.
Reason got nothing from me this time for various reasons, but opposing some superstitionist who hopes to use coercion to promote his superstition isn't one of them.
Can I guess you are equally taken by some mythology?
I find it a hit piece because it's just a sequence of misrepresentations.
I wouldn't spit on Roy Moore if he were on fire. But handing a senate seat to a leftist because of the ick factor makes no sense.
"I find it a hit piece because it's just a sequence of misrepresentations."
I'm sure you'll find a way to claim these are "misrepresentations":
He taught a class discouraging women from running for office.
He's referred to people as "reds and yellows".
He thinks the accusations of pedophilia are pushed by homosexuals and socialists.
Accepted money from a Neo-nazi group.
Said gay marriage was worse than slavery.
Wouldn't rule out death penalty for gays.
Wants to rescind free trade agreements.
He's anti-immigrant.
Believes Barack Obama wasn't born in America.
Believes 9/11 is God's punishment for legalizing sodomy and abortion.
I'll be waiting.
Try reading you stupid fuckwit. It's already been detailed extensively in this thread.
Way to GO!
That's a copy and paste of the article, fuckwit.
Some are unravelling allegations, others I am sure have a tendentious and mendacious evasion of nuance.
Half may even be true.
Still better than the Democrat.
Second, all that bullshit you mention has been debunked above. It's ok for you to hate the guy, but stop lying. You're putting yourself in the same subset of dishonesty as AmSoc, Tony, and PB when you say that kind of shit.
Don't you find it telling that Moore's 10 Commandments display controversy -- his claim to fame/infamy before a few weeks ago -- didn't even make the list?
This isn't a libertarian analysis of Moore's history and positions. It's a talking points compilation by SJWs who think the world began yesterday.
Psst, that's part of the first item on the list.
'Course, if they gave it its own place on the list, you'd complain that it's an irrelevant decades-old political stunt.
First item on the list is discouraging women from running for office. Are you looking at a different list?
Comments have no correlation to clicks. Most people don't comment. Comments are for a die hard loser minority that have very little financial or other kind of pull. Oh, wait.
Comments have no correlation to clicks. Most people don't comment.
I find that hard to believe. Maybe for NYT or CNN, but not a relatively unknown site like Reason.
BREAKING: Loser with no influence overestimates influence of losers.
Didn't claim influence. Reason not caring what their readers think was kind of my point -- and one they appear to want to contradict.
Frankly, Reason ought to eliminate the comments. The goal of the site is to popularize libertarian policy and the "actual libertarians" in comments section so undermine that message that continuing to publish them is starting to border on self-sabotage.
Did someone say Sabotage?
Sabotage
A site that predicates itself on an absolutist attitude towards free speech doesn't really have that option if it wants to be taken seriously.
Anyway, nothing is stopping you from just ignoring the commenters that aren't me, BUCS, Sevo, Citizen, Chipper, Crusty, Fist, and the mystery master name changer behind the Tony/John sockpuppet theater. Between all of us, the true libertarian position is always fleshed out.
Now that they've discovered they can raise megabuck$ in just one week on the Internet, why do they need commenters?
But it serves to show their cosmotarian credibility, getting attacked from the right all the time.
Oops, I mean attacked from the...ah, you know, the top of the Nolan Chart which isn't either right or left.
/sarc
Speaking from said windswept, snowy peak, they aren't attacked from there very often.
It's just that certain libertarians being called right-wing or conservative, even if they're for low regulation, fiscal restraint, low taxes, entrepreneurship...it reminds me of a certain Onion headline which I forbear to quote right now.
*resent* being called right-wing or conservative
The American definition of "right-wing" also includes support for police unions, stop-and-frisk, opposition to encryption, a large number of Sessions-ite Drug Warriors, mass incarceration, lingering neoconservatism, and now even protectionism, apparently. No libertarian wants to be associated with that, and being called "right-wing" more or less does that.
Not all of us are opposed to open immigration and abortion, either.
So , the Democrat/Republican centrist establishment is "the American definition of right wing"?
The same establishment that lumps libertarians and Nazis together as "extremists".
Hmm...it's almost like left-wing and right-wing have a lot in common...
Who said anything about "centrist establishment" other than you? You think that there aren't lots of "grassroots", "real 'Murican" right-wingers that don't support marijuana prohibition, defend murderous cops, and want to "shut down parts of the Internet"? I've seen lots of Trumpian nationalists expressing their admiration for Rodrigo Duterte's drug war, dismissing protests against police violence as a "vast left-wing conspiracy" and react to terrorist attacks by calling for throwing out the Fourth Amendment. Not to mention the large section of "soccer mom neocons" who grant their blessing to the droning of Waziristan so they can skip their third Ritalin tonight.
Just because you, I gather, don't support these things, doesn't mean you get to pull a "no true Scotsman" on the majority swath of the Right that does.
Right-wing meant nothing of the sort until the campaign of 1932. That was the first it entered the vernacular as other than a military maneuvers term. In 1932 Amerika the word came to mean God's Own Prohibitionists (and that Christian feller in Germany who is putting the labor unions in their place, thanks to Bert Hoover's Moratorium on Brains). Google news archives are free to search.
1. The term "right-wing" originated from the French Revolution and referred to the aristocratic wing of the National Assembly, before entering the French vernacular as a rough synonym for "conservative/monarchist" for the following century until eventually spreading here.
2. Hitler was an atheist who had no respect for the "Positive Christianity" he peddled to the German populace to keep them in line while planning to eventually abolish theism in favor of "scientific" racial-nationalist doctrine. (I am, for the record, an atheist myself.)
3. You have less credibility than a woodlouse on psilocybin.
Well fuck my asshole! Hank. Fought up the 1932 election! That certainly hasn't happened 233 time before! And referring to republicans as "God's own Prohibitinists"? Such fucking wit!
Hank, you are so goddamn fucking clever!
FTFY
Says the guy who thinks that the "Bastiat-Schmastiat" mercantilist, "the Irish, no wait the Italians, no wait the Mexicans are destroying our country" nativist, "Pinochet will you please sign my moob" feudalist, "our brave boys in blue" police-statist/apologist, "every sperm is sacred" theocrats are the "individualist" end of the political spectrum.
Were you trying to hit every base there?
Grasping for every possible straw?
Because you could not be more wrong. I mean really, there's nothing that has ever been or ever will be as wrong as what you've just written.
It's a singularity of wrong.
Let's review:
1. You have said in the past, repeatedly, that the "Right" wing is the "individualist" end of the political spectrum.
2. A large and growing section of America's right wing electorate are mercantilists and protectionists who believe in collectivized national control of trade.
3. A firm majority of said right wing are nativists who drum up ahistorical moral panic about immigrants to promote collectivized national control over migration.
4. A large section of said right wing support crony-capitalist boondoggles like ethanol and coal subsidies out of a belief in collectivized national energy policy. Further, many in the Alt-right are active Pinochet fans.
5. A firm majority of said right wing are consistent apologists for police brutality, mass incarceration, asset forfeiture and police unions, out of a Bork-esque belief in majoritarian rule and "law-and-order".
6. A firm majority of said right wing oppose any form of abortion, and until recently opposed freedom of contract (eg "marriage") for gays, out of a religiously motivated belief in imposing "public morals".
QED: A firm majority of those Americans who identify as and are identified as "right-wing" are statists who believe in a collectivized national "tribe" in which a Western European, Judeo-Christian society is preserved and promoted by NAP-violating police action, central planning and discrimination. An examination of other "right-wing" movements throughout history will reveal similarly nationalistic, monarchic/aristocratic, sectarian, authoritarian beliefs, going all the way back to the ORIGINAL right wing in the French Assembly. Thus rendering your past assertions that "right-wing" = "individualist" absurd, and your implied assertion above that I, BUCS, Fist, Crusty, etc., are less libertarian than you even more absurd.
You are, of course, free to simply spend a few more sentences coming up with new and elaborate ways of saying "nuh-uh" in response to this, as you did immediately above, instead of making actual counter-arguments in defense of your position.
And speaking of said long-form "nuh-uh"... You do realize that you just accused my comment of being "more wrong" than Mein Kampf and the Communist Manifesto, yes?
Yeah it's the comments that undermine the libertarian message. Not the articles praising race riots, calling for political violence, opposing tax cuts, supporting Obamacare, or underage sex trafficking apologia.
Telling the truth isn't a hit piece. What they pointed out are all valid reasons to not vote for this pile of feces.
As illustrated by many above comments, no, they're not. Most of this article is made up of lies and distortions. If you don't like a Moore, fine. But cut the bullshit, m'kay?
Right on. Reason's slip is showing.
What undercuts the libertarian message is a comments section polluted by Contards who wander over from the Federalist or Brietbart. And then someone reads their drivel and thinks, ''this is what libertarians think.''
And the people that see those commenters and react by revealing that they think "-tard" is an appropriate suffix to non-ironically attach to a word for someone they dislike. The frieze of libertarian embarrassment wouldn't be complete without them.
We could also listen to this week's episode of the reason editor and writer laden podcast Fifth Column instead, where they make predictions that blow up in their faces two weeks later.
Liberaltaritard? Cosmotard? Sophistitard?
I have to clean my house this weekend so I know I'll finally be listening to last Thursday's comedy.
Still better than an establishment Democrat in office.
If he actually did anything prosecutable people can take him to court.
And the Governor can appoint someone else not a Democrat to his seat.
This is their plan. The ethics committee will run him out of Washington then they can appoint the Alabama governor's crony, or someone that McConnell hand picks.
They would have to expel him with a 2/3 vote in the Senate.
Ironically the Dems would probably rather have Moore in the Senate to use as a punching bag, rather than a replacement Republican, but I don't see how they could vote against expulsion.
Fucking Christ I've had it. This is supposed to be a Libertarian site, but all I see these days are droves of undercover republican fluffers rushing to the defense of scumbags like Trump and Moore, while they argue with the handful of prog trolls that only come here to antagonize them. And the whole "still better than Hillary/Obama/fill in the blank lefty" argument is pathetic and one of the main reasons I abandoned the shitty two party system in the first place. Either a lot of you don't really belong here or you're turning into the very thing you used to despise. Either way, go fuck yourselves. I'm taking a break.
Look, you've got two choices in this particular race. One is a commie statist slaver. One is Roy Moore. Take your fucking pick.
Hint: If you're going to pick the commie, you're too stupid to live and should probably euthanize yourself for your own good.
The source is CNN? WTF? LMAO
We need some Republican sockpuppets to come out of the woodwork and deny Roy is a True Landover Baptist Christian. Next, some identical sockpuppets to swear He is as godly as Mohammed, Jimmy Swaggart, Jim Bakker and Charles Coughlin, and that it's all just a free-trade commie librul plot.
I have received $18234 in one month by working online from home. I am very happy thay i found this job and now i am able to earn more dollars online which is better than my regular office job ABe. Everybody can get this job and earn more income online by just follow this link and instructions there to get started.......... http://www.startonlinejob.com
1 And? Anyone deterred by such a class doesn't need to be in politics anyway.
2 Meaning...? I refer to some people as raging morons.
3 Doug Jones is both. If you include sexual harassers, you get all the MSM as well.
4 Hillary did to. And a lot of the 'neo-nazi' types are bedwetting basement dwellers.
5 He's a Christian and follows the Bible, but I forget the 1A means nothing to you.
6 Gee, neither did Obama! Ed Gillespie has no public stance, neither does Andrew Heaton nor Sarah Rose Siskind! I can't find Gandhi's.
7 Like anyone who actually realizes that they are costing AMERICANS jobs.
8 Nope, another LIE! Immigrants are great, CRIMINAL ALIENS need to be gone.
9 With no birth certificate, stolen SSN, forged Selective Service card (PO clerk, I can spot an altered date and that one...wow!), no college transcripts, etc., what is to prove he wasn't? BTW, his parents were both American citizens (Frank Marshal Davis), making him a citizen at birth, anywhere. Period. Read the 14A.
10 I'll ask when I get there, but there are people who claim Dick Cheney flew those planes in himself and that steel doesn't melt. I have seen liquid steel pour like water here in Birmingham. Cheney must be faking those heart problems.
Other than some vapid whining, you post not a single 'REASON' to not vote Moore. If you looked at Jones with half the critical eye, you'd be manning the phones at the Moore campaign site.
Hell, that list makes me like him even more.
nobody has said anything about if the democrat running against him is any good?which is essentially why these kinds of folks are there right now
you left out his total disregard for the rule of law, both as a candidate and as a jurist. pathetic.
Well, that's a rather strong case against him.
From Jone's website homepage:
I'll take those values to the U.S. Senate and work hard for all the people of Alabama:
Everyone has the right to quality, affordable health care.
We must restore Alabama's trust for its elected leaders.
I will defend a woman's right to choose and stand with Planned Parenthood.
All children deserve a first-class education regardless of where they live.
College must be affordable without burdening a student with overwhelming debt.
I believe in science and will work to slow or reverse the impact of climate change.
It is past time we raise the minimum wage to a livable wage.
Women must be paid an equal wage for equal work at all levels.
Voter suppression is unAmerican ? we must protect voting rights.
Discrimination cannot be tolerated or protected. America is best when it builds on diversity and is welcoming of the contributions of all.
Other than being pro-choice on abortion, I see no reason for libertarians to support him and a few reasons for libertarians to oppose him. That part about him stopping the oceans from rising means he wants a technocracy instead of a theocracy. There's not much practical difference.
Moore's campaign website homepage only posts his experience, but his positions page is mostly full of policies libertarians support. His opposition to homosexuals in the military and free trade agreements are bad, but he has several good positions.
Say what you will about Moore, at least everyone in Alabama knows where he stands. Nobody has any freaking clue about where Doug Jones stands. About the only thing Jones will admit is the usual platitudes about wanting to go to Washington to fix it and is willing to work with everyone up there.
And he has one advantage. He's not Doug Jones.

That's only 10, not 13...for fiscal conservative strategy purposes, I'm not seeing anything that makes him a threat in the U.S. Senate. In fact he's likely to be less dangerous in D.C. than he might be in Alabama.
Any baby-boomers out there? Have we had a more definitive example of "the less evil of two lessers" in our lifetimes? Was Congress' replacing Spiro Agnew comparable?
good grief
Reason can't make up its mind if its a libertarian site or a corporate/globalist anti-nationalist site first and foremost - one willing to denigrate democracy, the real economy, and basic honesty.
All else aside, clicking on the 'anti-immigrant' link takes one to a statement about ending illegal immigration.
Irrespective of one supports enforcing the law, or open borders, conflating a stance as to unlawful immigration with one as to migration *per se* is deliberately, clumsily dishonest.
And it makes you look like disingenuous, agenda-driven hacks.
I always go by my own (patent pending) Statist Scale, aka the Coercion Meter. At one end is 0, where one might find such pure libertarians as Robert LeFevre. At the other end is 10, the realm of Hitler, Mao and Stalin. Around 7 begins what I call the State-f*cker Zone (Hillary Clinton, Obama, etc.). My main question with the Alabama race (and all poilitical contests for that matter) is "How close to 10 is this candidate?" followed by "Is he closer to 10 than the other candidate, or closer to 0?" Not sure where Moore lies on the Statist Scale in comparison to his component; but I note that the people who most vociferously against Moore are way in the State-f*cker Zone.
What is wrong with people in Alabama who are voting for this monster - do they simply lack any sense of human decency ?
Come on, Reason. Don't misquote Moore. He's not anti-immigrant. He's anti-illegal alien (according to the link you cited). There is a difference between legal immigration and illegal entry. You may conflate the two and may believe they should be conflated, but they have separate meanings according to the law. https://thelawdictionary.org/illegal-alien/
Also, "free trade" agreements aren't actually free trade. With the TPP being over 5000 pages, how free can that "free trade" be when each legal section on each page is a regulation where the government explicitly picks winners and losers? Truly free trade would only require a one-sentence agreement: "The government shall not interfere in trade between two consenting parties."
Also, the gay marriage position of the authors isn't exactly libertarian. The truly libertarian posiiton on gay marriage and heterosexual marriage is for gov't to get completely out of what is an agreement between consenting adults. Why do we need gov't to tell us what kind of marriage is okay at all?
