What Charles Manson Teaches Us About Harvey Weinstein, Al Franken, and Tax Reform: Podcast
Nick Gillespie, Katherine Mangu-Ward, Peter Suderman and Matt Welch discuss what's wrong with the GOP tax bill, Roy Moore, Al Franken, and Aquaman.
On this week's Reason Podcast, Nick Gillespie, Katherine Mangu-Ward, Peter Suderman, and Matt Welch discuss everything that's wrong with the Republican tax reform bill, what it would mean for Obamacare, whether the neverending stream of sexual-assault revelations will turn America into a desert wasteland of fierce Beyoncé woman warriors, gubernatorial candidate and Ohio Supreme Court Justice William O'Neill's announcement that "in the last 50 years" he has been "sexually intimate with approximately 50 very attractive females," and whether Harvey Weinstein is the "Charles Manson" of the 21st century.
Some of the stories referenced in this week's show:
- Matt Welch in Reason: Thomas Massie on Tax Reform: "It's highly likely that we pass whatever the Senate comes up with"
- Nick Gillespie and Veronique de Rugy 2011 feature on how to balance the budget: "The 19 Percent Solution"
- Katherine Mangu-Ward in The New York Times: "Everything Is Bad. Blame the Tax Code."
- Nick Gillespie in Reason: "Manson's Death One More Milepost in Waning Significance of Baby Boom Generation"

Pussy-grabbing used to be cool.
One can only imagine how frustrating it must be that you've never been in contact with one in your pathetic life. It's no wonder you struggle with manic depression and suicidal thoughts.
Mikey, are you frustrated that the Con Man's agenda is close to death?
I mean, he even fucked up the shit I thought we could use. The border wall is a stupid idea but I at least wanted to see him fight Congress over building it.
And you could have had Huckabee!
I'm making over $7k a month working part time. I kept hearing other people tell me how much money they can make online so I decided to look into it. Well, it was all true and has totally changed my life.

I shouldn't laugh, but I totally did.
Blue Mikey vs. Mikey is almost as entertaining as Red Tony vs. Tony.
Live video stream of the debate
Who would win in a commenter death match?
I got Red Tony by soul-crushing psychoanalysis.
John definitely has no qualms about killing people. Probably a safe bet.
He would definitely win, but only because he would play rope-a-dope with an endless stream of densely-packed non sequiturs.
By Red Tony do you mean me or John?
Mocking someone for mental illness is insipid. Raise the level of conversation instead of lowering yourself to such bullshit.
BUCS, it's Simple Mikey you're talking to. Insipid is a real achievement for him.
What, are you some kind of imbecile?
Hmmm.....
It's not the worst I've seen, but it lacks that element of truthfulness that would make it funny. Also feels like you're trying to shoehorn Trump in, which is a well used play but is trite by now.
4.5/10
It is too difficult to work "Denny Hastert dragging a Lazy-Boy into the boys shower room" when I want to reference a sleazy politician. "Pussy-grabbing" is succinct and timely.
You know what though, I bet that if you gave Elizabeth Nolan Brown a little chunk of your book advance or got her a full-time job at the Post, there's a small chance she might actually give you some, just out of pure pity if nothing else.
Wait you think this'll work? (asking for a friend)
Not for most of us; Weigel is one of the few commenters here she doesn't despise.
For his own sake, I'd highly recommend going to the clinic and getting every available vaccination first though.
I think you are confusing the lovable ENB with the scornful Postrel.
Yeah. Bailey, Shaquille, and Kray Kray have all gotten into it with John and others, but the only commenter i've ever seen ENB clash with is... Simple Mikey.
One time I saw The Jacket touch Chipper Morning at a USO show.
one of the few commenters here she doesn't despise
I wonder if there's a reason she doesn't like you.
Mike wonders the same thing about his mom every time he calls and she yells obscenities into the phone before hanging up on him.
Can one 'grab' negative space?
In their mind. Assuming it hasn't just blown out.
I prefer the term "vulva grappling".
Of course. Or are you gonna claim that you never masturbated?
So it turns out Franken is an ass man. And based on her pic he is showing good taste.
Sexual molestation is OK if she's hawt, it's understandable even, heck it shouldn't even be an issue. What's the point of a nice pair of titties, a bubble butt or a trimmed pussy if not to be grabbed?
Plus you get elected.
Hmmmm....
Decent return, nice velocity, brief, it's workable. However, leaving ambiguity there means a respondent could offer up a withering reply concerning Bill Clinton. An amateur mistake.

Bill was call the Big Dawg you know. As in horn dog.
If women didn't want to be raped they should have stopped strutting around with their giant vaginas.
Leeann Tweeden announces that once upon a time Al Franken tongue kissed her and touched her tits while she was sleeping. It's cool though and she forgives him so we should all just drop it. She just wanted to throw it out there.
I imagine it's pretty shocking to realize that you may have just destroyed someone's career.
But if it destroys Franken's career, isn't it worth it?
I'm just saying, a person with empathy and a conscience is probably going to feel weird about wrecking another human's life, even if it's justified.
Empathy, conscience? Take it outside, Phil Donahue.
There is a pic of Leeann Tweeden with HER arms wrapped firmly around Franken while engaged in a kiss (same day as the tits pic).
Probably the kiss where he jammed his tongue in her mouth. *shrug*
That wasn't his tongue.
Great podcast! Start out with criticism of the tax reform bill. It is going to blow up the debt by 1.5 - 2 Trillion.
OK why not mention that is an estimate for ten years resulting to 150 - 200 Billion. Great job!
They go on to Norquist, and talk about how Bush cut taxes and raised spending a big no no.
True, but didn't mention Obama raised taxes and spending with six years of 1.5 Trillion annual deficits.
Then they continue about the backlash that will come with the dropping of certain deductions, and ignore the backlash that would come with spending cuts they promote. Excellent commentary.
Oh horseshit, Nick. Taxes are extracted from us at gunpoint. Its done so under the threat of "Gimme your shit or I shoot you!" Plenty of people want LESS government but the asswipes infesting Mordor on the Potomac don't give a fuck about anything but their own power and their cronies ability to keep them in their lavish lifestyle.
