Mostly Weekly: Why I'm Boycotting the White House Correspondents' Dinner
Journalists and politicians work best as frenemies.
The White House Correspondents' Dinner has turned into a red carpet event for Washington's media and bureaucrat elites. This year president Trump is not attending, which is a good thing. Fostering a little comity between Republicans and Democrats can bring the nation together, but a healthy democracy works best when there's a frosty tension separating journalists and those in power. This weekend's self-important gala encourages the executive branch and the fourth estate to get along; it would be better if we made them square off in paintball.
Mostly Weekly is a new comedy series on Reason TV written by Andrew Heaton and Sarah Siskind with writing assistance from David Fried and produced with Meredith Bragg and Austin Bragg.

Andrew Heaton is always entertaining. Though, I'm starting to see a connection between all libertarians I know and a love of Scotch.
Sweet sweet Scotch...............
Kind of makes me wonder if Ron Burgundy was a libertarian.
When he's wondering which pipe hitting bitch is going to pass him the mashed potatoes, I say he is absolutely Libertarian.

I'm making over $7k a month working part time. I kept hearing other people tell me how much money they can make online so I decided to look into it. Well, it was all true and has totally changed my life.

Some sort of correlation between Scotch and the Scottish Enligtenment...
" Fostering a little comity between Republicans and Democrats can bring the nation together, but a healthy democracy works best when there's a frosty tension separating journalists and those in power."
So the republic will function better with Trump having defeated old Hill-dog eh?
I am boycotting it too.
I am boycotting it because Trump has not yet conquered Somalia and turned it into a Libertarian paradise!
He should bomb some airfield or send his armada steaming to the shores of Africa.
I'm boycotting it because Norm McDonald isn't hosting it this year.
Since when are politicians and journalists nerds?
Politicians have practically always been extreme extroverts and are, by and large, scientific and technical imbeciles, with journalists only being slightly more nerdy in that some of them are able to write. By this definition, JFK, having been both a reporter and a politician and in spite of serving in the war and shtupping actresses, models, and movie stars was some manner of not-really-at-all-but-stil-?ber nerd.
Has the bar been so lowered that any chimpanzee who can hold an iPhone for more than 3 hrs. everyday is a nerd?
Millenials GREW UP with technology. They SOCIAL MEDIA. And differential equations are just the hegemonic repression by the patriarchy. SOCIAL MEDIA!
Can we actually make "Mostly Weekly" and actual mostly weekly thing (Was this a secret dig on The Fifth Column)?
Here hear!
"Emo Vulcan" was my nickname in high school.
I'm pretty sure "Thelma and Louis Endings" redundantly after "Suicide Pacts" is a euphemism.
Snowflakes!
??????O just before I saw the paycheck which was of $9068 , I did not believe ...that...my father in law was like they say actually taking home money in there spare time on their computer. . there brothers friend haze done this for less than seven months and at present paid the loans on there apartment .??????? ?????____BIG.....EARN....MONEY..___???????-
Not bad, not bad. I will watch future installments, usually.
Colbert's rip on Bush was the first time I'd heard of him, and it was fantastic watching all those faces trying to figure out what was going on, especially Bush. Then Obama came in and he sent all fanboy.
If he had just switched gears and gone all safe-space SJW extremist for the next 4 years, maybe Obama wouldn't have felt so secure, and maybe he would have been shamed just a bit into upholding a few campaign promises, and maybe Colbert would have set his reputation forever. Instead he's a tepid Johnny Carson and will be remembered as a one hit wonder.
Last month i managed to pull my first five figure paycheck ever!!! I've been working for this company online for 2 years now and i never been happier? They are paying me $95/per hour and the best thing is cause i am not that tech-savy, they only asked for basizing experience working with them and i wanted to share this with you, because they are looking for new people to join their team now and i highly recommend to everyone to apply? Nah, you are boycotting either because you were not invited, disinvited or more likely are attending the Drumpf rally where he is celebrating his 100 days in office by throwing tantrums that he is being judged for an artificial deadline of 100 days
"Hasan Minhajs veered away from jokes to warn, "Donald Trump doesn't care about free speech. The man who tweets everything that enters his head refuses to acknowledge the amendment that allows him to do it."'
Sigh.
No!
The First Amendment doesn't "allow" Donald Trump-or anyone else-to say whatever they want. It forbids the government from interfering with that person doing so-and that distinction matters. That Hasan Minhajs seems not to understand that and that he was the keynote speaker at this charade is what troubles me and I think many others.
