Remy: Hallelujah (SNL Parody)
Remy finds a silver lining in a Trump presidency.
The first post-election episode of Saturday Night Live opened with a tribute to Hillary Clinton's loss and music legend Leonard Cohen's death. Whether you consider it "profoundly beautiful" or "embarrassing," we can all agree that…well…Kate Mckinnon sang a song. Now it's Remy's turn.

Lyrics:
I heard the news and I was sad
A crazy man who'll power grab
He'll probably bomb countries unapproved, yeah
The debt will double - Won't abate
He'll build up the surveillance state
I guess it won't be all that different, ooh yeah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
He might be so awful, So unhinged
Defense Secretaries leave and then
Imply his White House knows not what to do yeah
He'll wage a war on whistle-blows
there may be unexpected gropes
He'd be that nightmare
They call "deja vu" yeah
Hallelujah
Hellelujah
He might take the data from our phones
Have citizens killed by flying drones
Mock the disabled oh no we'll be through yeah
So if you're mad and on the streets
Concerned about this overreach
Well where've you been
It isn't all that new, yeah
But Hallelujah
Hallelujah

Better than the SNL version.
This wasn't as hilarious as the SNL one.
*standing ovation*
Outsanding Ovulation!!!
That didn't say "power grab" in the first draft, did it? Be honest.

Self-censoring? What a pussy.
Self-censoring? What a pussy.
Obama killed with good intentions though. Trump's meanness means the dead foreigner's will have died harder.
Remy is a national treasure.
Yes he is. Love his stuff.
Yup. Unbelievable how obscure he has remained. I love 'im.
A polymusicman, Remy is. I'll know we've got a decent president when he gives him a National Freedom Medal or whatever it's called, and an open invitation to the White House music room, day or night.
I don't really expect that much of a 'default to policy' from Trump.
Remy hasn't given up, and neither should you.
I snort-laughed alone in my office.
Too lengthy for an autobiography title.
Says you.
Says You: The Autobiography of Citizen X
My autobiography will already be titled God's Shenanigan.
Says you.
Not too lengthy for a euphemism
This was fucking super. Someone promote that man!
Too bad I read Walker's piece before seeing this, though, because I laughed like hell but then felt bad for doing so.
Hey, look! You can actually use humor and satire to skewer left wing politics! Huh, you'd never know it from watching network TV.
That SNL episode only had one bit of real humor, Chappelle's monologue. Well, that and the pre-taped bit where he did all of his old characters in a Walking Dead parody. He was great, not just because he was funny, but also because he didn't just poke the other side. He clearly was 100% team Clinton, but he had real observations about both sides. And they were largely funny. The rest of the show..... not so much.
Having a bunch of white liberal yuppie millennials watching the election returns in horror as they learn that all of the white people outside their bubble are a bunch of racists isn't funny. Nor is it insightful. Inciteful maybe, but not insightful.
Congratulations Remy, an excellent effort. I will be spreading it far and wide.

That truly was brilliant.
Now I've heard there is SOME guy called Lorne
And his sketches just go on and on
Well you don't really care for humour, do you?
Bravo!
Even though there's Dave Chappelle
All i see on SNL
Is butthurt wailing 'bout some fascist losin'
The writers tried, it's plain to see
To ignore flaws in Hillary
But that's why they'll not get the country's choosin'
I'm kinda worried about the links. It's 4:38 and the links are always up by 4:30. Hell, FoE sets his clock by them. Could it be some Islamic terrorist attack like happened to the Frog Mad Magazine?
Anybody else notice that the folks who've been laughing at us for thinking we might need the Second Amendment to protect folks from a rogue government because it could never happen here, are being real quiet about now?
Remy is awesome
El Risitas on the election.
Yes, it would be so frightening for liberals if Trump acted like Obama (as in fact is all too likely). Well, in their case they'd be getting what they deserve.
I like this Remy guy. Consistently provides hilarious content. Good hustle, too.
