Ben & Jerry's Co-Founder Won't Vote For Hillary
Ben Cohen tells Reason TV Clinton is "part of the system."
Ben Cohen, co-founder of Ben & Jerry's ice cream is a big Bernie Sanders booster, even going so far as to create "Bernie's Yearning," a special edition ice cream to raise funds for Sanders' campaign.
Reason TV caught up with Cohen at the McIntyre-Shaheen 100 Club Celebration in Manchester, NH, where he told us if Sanders falls short of winning the Democratic nomination for president, he won't vote for Hillary because she's "part of the system that has created this government run by the corporations and the ultra-wealthy."

I typically vote for the candidate who is endorsed by a guy who makes ice cream and sells out to Unilever for a big cash payout while railing against capitalism. Guys like that know what is best for all of us swine.
You must think I am a joke
I ain't gonna be part of your system
man
I threw it on the ground!
The apparatchiks always know what's best.
He donated all that cash to charity, I'm sure.
this government run by the corporations and the ultra-wealthy
Wait, isn't Ben someone who got at least mega-wealthy, though maybe not ultra-wealthy, from starting a corporation? Who is now trying to influence the outcome of this election using his mega-wealthy money that he got from a corporation to do so? I'm confused, is this mega-hypocrisy or ultra-hypocrisy?
Shh... you're not supposed to point this out.
Yeah, but he's socially aware, supports progressive causes, and doesn't screw anybody over. So he's good.
He's sitting on over $150 million in liquid assets, so he's not supporting progressive causes as much as he wants other people to.
Exactly. If he thinks that millionaires should pay an 80% income tax rate, why hasn't he visited this website where you can make a voluntary contribution to the US Treasury?
He should be donating enough money to make his net pay only 20% of his gross. It's only fair, right? Right? Maybe I'll consider his ideas when he shows that he's willing to live by the rules that he advocates for everyone else.
The voluntary nature of it really pisses off progs like him.
So he would probably be ok with me confiscating $50-60 million of his net worth right? So he and I can be more equal?
Nah, he is just trying to sell more ice cream.
"In April 2000, Ben & Jerry's sold the company to Anglo-Dutch multinational food giant Unilever.[12] Unilever said it hopes to carry on the tradition of engaging "in these critical, global economic and social missions". Although the founders' names are still attached to the product, they do not hold any board or management position and are not involved in day-to-day management of the company.[13]"
That'll show those evil corporations!!!!
Maybe Ben has a retainer with Unilever that stipulates he needs to keep up his progressive shtick.
He sold it to a European corporation! They are the nice, socialist kind, because, as we all know, Europe is a hotbed of socialism!
"...is this mega-hypocrisy or ultra-hypocrisy?"
Yes. Yes, it is.
they pay their ice cream scoopers $16.00 an hour
"...he won't vote for Hillary because she's "part of the system that has created this government run by the corporations and the ultra-wealthy."
Hey Ben, who'd ya vote for in 2008? In 2012?
I have an idea. It mostly involves you going and fucking yourself.
I still think the funniest parts about this is how the main 'celebrity' socialists trying to push it forward (Sanders, Cohen, etc.) are all old-as-fuck ideologues that just seem desperate. Do they think this is their last chance at a socialist Presidency before the younger and far more 'social justice' than 'socialist' crowd takes over?
What's even funnier is that many of them are very wealthy.
Sanders isn't wealthy, but still can't complain, receiving both a Congressional pension and various other lifetime government benefits. Add that to Sanders' net worth of between $500000-$800000, and even a loser like Bernie Sanders ends up quite well off.
So close -- like Occupy Wall Street -- they have identified the problem, corporatist government cronies -- and then think MORE government, by TOP.MEN., is the solution. They are SO CLOSE to realizing that government itself is the problem because its very nature attracts corruption and cronies.
If only you were right. Unfortunately, most people need a guiding authority figure to feel safe. For the right, it's Jesus. They see the government as competing with his authority, and that's why they are, at least nominally, against the government. The left has no Jesus, so the government takes that role. You see, we just need to put the right people in charge. But the system itself is never questioned. That would be, literally, heresy.
Vote for the Bern to ensure your right to free Ben & Jerry's any flavor.
No no no, just one flavor, we have too much variety as it is.
Who really needs ice cream when there are hungry children out there?
Notice he said 'ultra-wealthy' when describing the bad guys. His net wealth, from two different sources, seems to be around $150M. Sounds kinda ultra to me, Ben. And get your teeth fixed.
My last pay check was $9500 working 12 hours a week online. My sisters friend has been averaging 15k for months now and she works about 20 hours a week. I can't believe how easy it was once I tried it out. This is what I do..

That only puts him in the .01%. He's talking about the .0001%'
Start working at home with Google! It's by-far the best job I've had. Last Wednesday I got a brand new BMW since getting a check for $6474 this - 4 weeks past. I began this 8-months ago and immediately was bringing home at least $77 per hour. I work through this link, go to tech tab for work detail.

Bernie's Yearning: the yummy deliciousness of statism topped with the mouth-watering flavor of serfdom! Mmmm . . . mmm!
I don't care what he thinks. All I care about is that Ben & Jerry's ice cream is awesome which it is. Their's and Haagen-Dazs' are two of the best national ice cream brands you can get pretty much anywhere.
Ben: "I agree with Bern that we have too many flavors which is why we've decided to go right back down to the basics and have just one flavor: Vanilla.
Bern: No! No vanilla! Just white.
Ben: Wh-what do you mean, Bern? It's vanilla.
Bern: Vanilla is a flavor and we can't have that. Vanilla is white.
Ben: Actually it's kinda cream-whi...
Bern (interjects): WHITE.
Ben (looks on baffled): O...kay. (Covers mic leans over to Bern) Bernie what are you doing?
Bern (smirking): You do as I say or else...(motions)....it's the gulag capeesh?
Ben (addresses crowd): White is the new vanilla!
So? Ben Cohen is part of the system too. He should feel right at home with Hillary.
Sounds like Bernie won't be shutting Ben & Jerry's down over it's high levels of dioxin.

Politicians are influence peddlers and sweet talk their followers. Trump suggested that only self funding billionaires should run, but thousands of parasites would riot if enacted. Corruption is the reason payroll taxes are so high.
