Affirmative Action, Unions, Asset Forfeiture: 3 SCOTUS Cases To Watch
The Supreme Court may end mandatory union dues for California school teachers and limit state taking of property.
The Supreme Court is back in session with major decisions coming on affirmative action at public universities, the limits of asset forfeiture, and whether California teachers may reject paying compulsory fees to public sector unions.
How's the court expected rule in these cases and what are the likely implications of its decisions?
Reason Senior Editor Damon Root gave his views on the three most important cases to watch in the Supreme Court's current session: Fisher v. University of Texas at Austin, Luis v. United States, and Friedrichs v. California Teachers Association.

"The Supreme Court may end mandatory union dues for California school teachers and limit state taking of property."
You're right. It may.
Or it may vastly increase the state's power to steal on its own behalf and others ability to steal on behalf of the government.
This Civil Asset Forfeiture racket, aka Theft Under Color of Law has got to be stopped. Actually, it should have been stopped by the courts and or our elected representatives the moment the first example of this racket reared it's ugly head. Shame on the above mentioned for having failed so dismally to do their jobs.
Quit calling it "affirmative action". It's racial discrimination.

The progtards will never give up on it either. It's too great a tool to keep people divided, and introduce more Marxism.
Libertarians are VERY clearly a SMALL minority... WHERE is my "preferential treatment"? I am holding my breath, please advise SOON....
Notice that in the asset forfeiture case, there has been NO conviction yet, ergo, criminality has not been proven.
It's going to be interesting to see if that same justices who ruled (in the gay marriage case) that everyone has the right to be treated equally, turn right around and rule (in the affirmative action case) that...well....we didn't really mean EQUAL equal. Some need to be a little "more equal" than others.
That's not exactly keeping me in suspense: Sotomayor, Kagan, Breyer, and Ginsburg will all vote against equality, only certain groups being equal in their deranged minds. Kennedy? He may vote intelligently. It will be 5-4 either way.
I have little to no respect for the Supreme Court Justices. In 1852 the Supreme Court upheld the Fugitive Slave Act because the was the way the political wind was blowing then. Today they uphold the anti-rightist drug war laws because that's the way the political wind is blowing. They are political animals. Can you imagine anyone getting nominated, let alone confirmed as a Justice who has stated in public or in a court document that he or she knows that the present drug laws are violations of the principle of inalienable rights? They would be laughed out of town.
What is with the f'n background music? It is horrible and makes it hard to hear Fisher. If you are going to use it - cut it back 10db or 20db.
Boy, that would be nice if we could start slowly winding the union mob's power back and return it to a voluntary association. I think unions are great - in theory, when they're doing their job and not screaming "if you are X, you must associate with us or else!"
Any way to get updates on the G. Johnson / J. Stein suit against the debate commission?
Start working at home with Google! It's by-far the best job I've had. Last Wednesday I got a brand new BMW since getting a check for $6474 this - 4 weeks past. I began this 8-months ago and immediately was bringing home at least $77 per hour. I work through this link, go? to tech tab for work detail,,,,,,,

Government itself is a top to bottom fraud, a criminal scam, no more, no less.
That means _all_ of it : the president, congress, the constitution, the bill of rights, the supreme court, the FBI, the Fed, the cops and the courts.
Always have been, always will be.
A fraud/scam cannot be "reformed". It's like putting lipstick on a pig. A waste of time.
However, I'm betting that for most here, as elsewhere:
"In In your dreams the constitution was not a scam,"
In your dreams, the supreme court is not a scam"
In your dreams, the FBI is not a scam"
"In your dreams the cops and the courts are not a scam,"
"In your dreams 9/11 was not a scam,"
In your dreams, welfare is not a scam.........."
......And so on and so forth, ad infinitum 🙂 .
