Why does anyone *need* deodorant?
Especially after smelly natural people are made a protected class.
Yet another reason the French are our cultural betters.
Mais oui!
You've clearly been to Burlington.
Bravo!
Alright, this was actually pretty funny.
"The Bernie Sanders school of economics. Where tuition is free; and, yet overpriced"
Powdery fresh!
You are totally misrepresenting his argument. He is saying that underarm sprays cause child hunger and Old Spice RedZone Aqua Reef is a solid. Only an idiot would think solid deodorant was the cause of children going hungry!
I like the spray, but I don't let the children starve, I employ them as orphan slave monocle polishers. Spray deodorant, reducing child labor unemployment and making monocles shiny!
Minimum wage supporter.
What if we hired starving orphans to spray our underarms for $15/hour? Would that make Bernie happy?
actually i think that the problem is too much choice. If we all just had one choice per item then and only then would the government be able to steer the economy so that we could all have the same miserable standard of living. We would all be "equal" yet some people " the smart leaders of course would get more because they are so much more important than the rest of us.
Got to love socialists. they believe in the easiest ideology in the world to disprove yet we still can't eliminate them.
Leonard Peikoff (Ayn Rand's pal) had a radio show in SoCal during the 1990s that often listened to. He once wondered why there was such an extraordinary concentration of children allergic to peanut dust in Santa Monica, CA.
*** meekly raises hand ***
Peanut oil deodorant?
Because BIG PEANUT, what do you think?! Rat fucking flea tagger!
""You don't necessarily need a choice of 23 underarm spray deodorants or of 18 different pairs of sneakers when children are hungry in this country." - Sen. Bernie Sanders"
Right, Bernie, and don't worry, when you achieve your socialist utopia, there won't be a choice of 23 underarm sprays and 18 different pairs of sneakers There won't be any. I don't mean there won't be any choice because there's only one product, I mean there won't be any fucking products, you dumb ass old fuck. How many times do you idiots need to do this experiment before it finally sinks into your thick brainless skulls that's your ideology is a total failure in every way possible?
Many, many more times for hundreds of more years. It's really amazing how long it takes for stupid ideas to go away.
For example, in ancient Sumeria, they believed eclipses were caused by a demon which ate the moon. Whenever there was an eclipse, priests would frantically beat a drum until the frightened demon spat out the moon again. Hundreds of years later, the Babylonians learned the true cause of eclipses and could predict when they would happen. Yet the priests insisted on beating drums anyway just to be sure.
[cadence of a Gregorian chant]
Herp, herrrrrrrp, herpa derrrrrrrp.
How many times do you idiots need to do this experiment before it finally sinks into your thick brainless skulls that's your ideology is a total failure in every way possible?
Unfortunately, forever. There is always a new generation of young idealists coming along who know that if the right people could just run everything, the world would work so much better.
Only after having lived a few decades, and moving around some, does the Marxist wannabe learn that it won't work, and the best solution is just to leave everyone alone to figure out how to play the game themselves. The problem is, by the time most of them have learned this, they are so set in their ways that they can't admit it.
The Sumerians also believed, in spite of the fact that they lived between two major rivers, that it was impossible for humans to swim. They executed malefactors by throwing them in the river to drown. However, when they tried to execute foreigners in this manner, the miscreants just swam away. The Sumerians never caught on though.
+1 more time
You really can't blame him, he's an elitist, and just like all other elitists, he's clueless. It never ceases to amaze me how people determine how many of something we need or don't need. I wonder if he's telling Ben and Jerry that they don't need the 100+ flavors. Oh wait, silly me, the hypocrite sanders supports B&J so of course they'll get a free pass.
The old saw about Stalin showing "The Grapes of Wrath," was that he wanted to show how badly capitalism treated the poor, but the Soviets were amazed that they had a vehicle and shoes, applies.
yes I like that one two - i also heard a story about a Soviet fighter pilot who defected to the US, could not believe that the American supermarkets he encountered in the early 1980's were real - he thought that the CIA put them in place to trick him or that they were only there for high level leaders. It took about a month or two to realize how much higher the standard of living was in a capitalist society.
Now we got people in this country like Red Bernie, who think that it is noble to lower our standard of living
Comrade Sanders, why do we need 69 flavors of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream?
http://www.benjerry.com/flavors/
Because I just smoked some reefer and need some Chubby Hubby !!
(applause)
these brief sketches are a nice compliment to musical-Remy
More please.
It's a really great non sequitur. Note that BS merely implies that variety in consumer goods causes hungry children. Because even he realizes it's idiotic to claim that having many kinds of deodorant is somehow preventing kids from eating.
Socialist Zero Sum Economics.
"all this energy/money is being *wasted* making 'unnecessary' products!"
Ben & Jerry's sucks, even stoned. I am so fucking glad I stocked up on Blue Bell when I first heard about the recall, because I knew the FDA-Breyer's cartel would not stop with just a few scare stories about listeria, especially when those stories didn't stop people from buying Blue Bell.
One time, I pointed out to a socialist that every single famine in the 20th century happened in a socialist/communist country and that the worst famines of all time were in communist countries. It was to watch him sputter in incoherent rage. But he called me a republican, so I guess he won the argument.
100M socialist deaths in the 20th century, not counting wars.
Billions lifted out of poverty by capitalism.
It gets better -- googled it, and the 10 worst famines were in countries that were socialist or communist, yet the compiler blamed at least one on policies that weren't socialist enough:
7. India (Bengal) 1943
Between 2.1 and three million people died as a result of crop failure, the exporting of foods by India's British administration to Allied soldiers fighting in World War Two, the end of rice imports from Burma following Japanese invasion and a lack of food price controls by the British administration
Britain wasn't socialist in 1943, it was just going in that direction, like the road to serfdom or something.
India was economically very interventionist at the time, although not as much as it would get under independence. But note, the famine occured when the British administration was _exporting food_. But no, it was totally the free market's fault.
Yeah, it's hilarious when lefties try to use the British empire as evidence of capitalist exploitation. Britain actively imposed tariffs on the goods of their colonies (like India) in those countries, to force the people to buy British goods, thereby impoverishing the people to enrich themselves and drive competitors out of business by force.
In short, what labor unions in the US are trying to do to the consumer public.
I guess that the Japanese starting the war wasn't to blame at all, just that the British didn't impose price controls.
I guess that these revisionist historians don't understand the concept of primary cause/responsibility.
I guess that the food shortages in France during the Nazi occupation were caused by the French not having enough central planning NOT the Germans coming and stealing all of the food.
Ok, usually these things are worth a sensible chuckle at best. This one made me laugh out loud.
I don't like to play the sexism card, but it seems like a lot more people would be giving this moronic statement the mockery it deserves if a girl had said it. It reminds me of the sort of ditzy thing people stereotype Miss America contestants as saying. "Why cant we all set down our guns and hug a puppy instead?!" But he's a politician so the media treats it as some kind of serious, dignified argument.
I should say mainstream media. Reason knows what's up at least.
I don't know about that. Elizabeth Warren spouts of the dumbest shit you've ever heard with regularity and the media eats that shit up.
While doing the opposite (re: house flipping and being a lying AA beneficiary).
Honestly it feels like Remy is punching down...

which is appropriate. Pestilent insects should be squashed.
Sanders isn't an insect, but he *is* an annoying ignoramus.
His significance is that he will give Hillary the space to move left.
Attack him, reduce Hillary's maneuvering room.
Move left while seeming moderate, that's the ticket.
Yeah, the less of *that,* the better.
Is it just me, or does Bernie sound like he has a bit of a British accent going on there?
His campaign is absolute comedy gold. He's mostly harmless but listening to him spout nonsense is fun. Watching my facebook friends lap it up is even more fun.
Democrats always run at one complete clown.
i remember when Jessie Jackson decided to run - now that was truly hillarious - or Dukakis in the tank trying to look like hawkish.
I make up to $90 an hour working from my home. My story is that I quit working at Walmart to work online and with a little effort I easily bring in around $40h to $86h? Someone was good to me by sharing this link with me, so now i am hoping i could help someone else out there by sharing this link... Try it, you won't regret it!......

Best. Video. So. Far.
That's a nice right-wing video, remy. It's smugly arrogant and yet still portrays people making a good living by supporting rich fat cat special interests as the victims. You guys are masters at that.
It's a good thing right-wingers are so serious that they need to write five articles and film a video about Bernie sanders saying--by analogy, in case you missed it guys-- that not everything done in the name of the free market is that great.
Yeah, people who make a good living, are never victimized by commie shitbags like you.
Go eat some shitty commie ice cream till you die. You mendacious cum wipe.
It does? Which character(s) in the video "portrays people making a good living by supporting rich fat cat special interests as the victims"?
The spokesman for the Bernie Sanders Fund? The guy who wants deodorant? Or the starving girl?
You're right, of course! I can't believe I didn't see it before! we should aspire to 'great' things! Things like this:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Leap_Forward
or this!
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Terror
or this!
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Purge
or this!
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reign_of_Terror
---------
Or maybe what Bernie (and you, apparently) missed is that the greatness of freedom is not and cannot be represented by any one single thing, labeled as "great" or not - it is the unstoppable and dynamic force of a billion tiny victories, miniscule upticks, and the flourishing of creativity. Humbling, I know, that one person cannot lay claim to the sum of human greatness; but Humans can only be great as a whole if individuals have the license to prosper by any means available, not just by those deemed good by the 'top men'
Awww, da widdle video hurt commie kid's feewings!! Maybe it was too cwose to home?!?!
Don't worry, commie kid. All that documented history is RACIST. Socialism really DOES work!! You can go back to your mom's basement now...
Please apply sarc tag.......please...
The point is, you evil commie, is what does choice in the market place have to do with starving kids? He's engaging in false dichotomies to fit his socialist narrative and fantasy.
My guess, anyway, that statistically people going to bed hungry has actually probably gone down in the United States. Just like crime with guns has been on the decline since the 1960s.
I'm no expert but the problem with the Sanders of the world is they explicitly ignore the role of choice and laziness that lead to hunger. They make no distinction because, zero-sum, one size fits all must prevail against such subtle human factors. That's why we never seem to 'win' against poverty. Hence, we keep arbitrarily moving goal posts to determine what 'line' is poverty.
Now go back to your make-shift gulag and making Pol Pot posters to fight the Jews and whatever other issues else your bull shit side distorts.
not everything done in the name of the free market is that great
Your right, it's not always great.
But it is free and uncoerced.
Analogy . . . I do not think this word means what you think it means.
"Not everything done in the name of the free market is that great."
WTF? Nothing is done 'in the name of the free market.' 'The free market' is not some sort of religion, or belief system, or absurdly complicated Rube Goldberg device like the ACA or even your local sports team fan club. The free market consists of leaving people alone to mind their own business. Why is this so incredibly difficult for lefties to understand? Can you people please just go to your little communes without deodorant and feed the children and pay for each others birth control or whatever it is that you want to do . . . and leave the rest of us in peace?
Exactly. They can't grasp someone not being in control or having TOP MEN on it. They are little peons who like being told how to proceed and being fed bullshit in political ads.
How many kids were fed by the wages of the workers at the retail store selling deodorant, the manufacturers, the distributors?
You fucking people are fucking clueless. Choice is a great thing. 23 deodorants and child hunger are mutually exclusive.
So, remind me again amsoc, how production of deodorant and sneakers is starving children?
It seems like you missed the point, then invented your own point, which is the reddest herring I've seen in a while. Nobody produces products "in the name of the free market." They produce things so that they can sell them to people who want them.
Now, tell us again how anyone who produces anything that isn't food is somehow responsilbe for starving children?
I notice Bernie is concerned about starving children while eating in what looks like (and probably is because socialist enjoy the perks of life while railing against it) a pretty decent restaurant.
Say Bernie. What did you eat? And why do we need so many restaurants come to think of it? Shouldn't you go eat at a government run cafeteria? I mean, like, because starving kids, amirite?
Right-winger? In what universe are libertarians right-wing? I realize your purpose here is trolling, but have you actually ever read anything published here? The thing about insults is they are most hurtful when they have an element of truth. Calling libertarians right-wing is like calling Sanders an undocumented alien who hasn't learned English yet. It's not hurtful, it's stupid.
FYI we are neither left- nor right-wing. If you want to hurl insults, non-conformity and trouble fitting in would be a good area to mine. Only problem is, many of us somewhat proud of our freak status.
This was meant as a response to AmSoc. Damn squirrels.
They have to label people. How else to get them into designated camps? Socialists can't direct an economy but they're experts at herding people into gulags.
Precisely. Once someone is pegged as a right-winger, one does't need to refute their arguments anymore, one can just ignore them and sit safely in one's cocoon and watch the daily show.
That's actually the funniest Remy skit I've ever seen.
another compassionate progressive who is pro-choice on exactly nothing except, of course, abortion.
I sometimes wonder if they even really believe in choice for abortion. It's not hard for me to envision a progressive government that decides "okay, woman 57382987-A, you have to have an abortion because another child unit would exceed the Five Year Plan for your domicile sector".
The one child policy in China should answer that question. The Leftarded will always claim that this is not their intended destination but all roads of Collectivism lead to that same Hell.
I had to think really hard this morning: gross out my co-workers by stinking up the joint or helping Bernie Sanders feed the hungry children in America. Let me tell you that is a tough ethical dilemma to sort out before you've even had a cup of coffee.
Decided to let the kids starve.
Even I might be curious as to how the market works that produces so many different varieties of similarly designed products, but can't figure out how breaking out some guns forcing a producer of X to grow peas for children instead. Isn't that the logical conclusion to this analysis? Force has ultimately been the end of the equation formulated by such minds.
Every time i click over to the youtube link for a reasontv vid I have the same experience. Objectors spout out their typically vapid, emotional-rich mantras about the wealthy getting that way on the backs of the poor, corporations being the real threat to freedom, posting links to "prove" that 23% of US kids really are starving etc. I get a few chuckles and bolstered sense of superiority for my basic understanding of history and economics. I do some mental fist pumping while reading rebuttals, many of which I find to be effective and funny.
Though their arguments have been ground into dust, the OP's return unfazed and post more of the same, and again are trounced by rebuttals. This cycle repeats over and over until I find that a creeping depression has become substantial, and 30 minutes of my day is gone. The moral conviction that these people think they yield renders them completely immovable! I then think about academia being over run by people who believe and preach that life's solutions are rooted in governance, and their progeny coming out in annual batches to vote in accordance. At this point I'm seriously fucking bummed out. I don't know how much of this feeling is bolstered by being a father, or the fact that I'm rereading 1984 at present, but I do have to actively deny my base instinct to seek out people like AmSoc and beat them to death with my fists.
My best friend's step-mother makes $85 hourly on the computer . She has been fired from work for nine months but last month her pay check $17089 just working on the computer for a few hours. see it here

My brother "liked" BS on his facebook page the other day. I am sure he doesn't see the irony in the fact that he has a wine cellar full of 100s of different types of wines - I mean, why does anyone need that many different types of wines?
sigh...
If you want to see the U.S. Bernie Sanders Socialism Demonstration Project, go to any Indian reservation (those reservations without a monopoly-protected casino!). It's been going SOOOOO well.
About right for an unemployable pornographer from Brooklyn ( do people stil make fun of Brooklyn?). Like my choice of " anyone except Bernie"
Still think we need to vote for Bernie in the primary. Only way that Hillary is going to be exposed as the corrupt POS that she is, is if someone from the left, and better yet someone even farther left than her, brings up all of the numerous skeletons in her closet. Otherwise, the left wing press will simply sweep it under the rug.
Besides, if Bernie somehow magically gets the nomination, he will get killed in the general election.
For me it was a bit of false note. He shouldn't have to justify wanting another deodorant with "because I'm allergic."
"Do you have another brand?"
"What are you, the 1%?"
And done. Short, punchy, gets the point across.
Rest of it was amazing. "Because economics" should be the title of Krugman's column.
