What We Saw at the Atlas Shrugged Part III Film Premiere
Atlas Shrugged Part III premiered at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, on September 7, 2014.
"I think there is a universality, a timelessness to her ideas," says Laura Regan, who plays Dagny Taggart in the film. "Believing in one's self to working hard for something you believe in, for standing up for your own […] right to do hard work and be rewarded for it. They're very American ideals."
Reason TV was on hand to ask the actors, producers, and fans what it was like to make the movie and why they think Ayn Rand's work remains appealing decades after its publication.
Approximately 3:31
Interviews by William Neff. Produced by Paul Detrick.

I'm not seeing "hot babes" in there, soooo..... #fail
Neff probably shot them.
Also - I gotta say, these "what's the most important message" questions and answers...this could be a bunch of progderps. "It's to do what you believe it right, and to buck the world..."
Yeah! Fuck Kochporashunz! Oh, wait...
I am disappoint.
""Believing in one's self... to working hard for something you believe in"
Like *one's self*
...
People keep forgetting that Actors are morons? but then they keep reminding everyone.
Funny - that's EXACTLY what I thought after I hit enter. "Actors are dumb - what am i thinking?"
Derp on me 🙂
Actors are dumb,
When they're not acting.
Faces look ugly,
When they're alone.
*Strange* but true.
Pssst, the rest of the world, the real world, views selfishness as bad, for some reason. No idea why!
They only view it as bad when practiced by others.
Well, they at least seemed genuinely positive about the general tone, unlike the apparent incomprehension of and revulsion of the message from AS II.
But really, none of these bozos ever read Rand? What an easy question.
Your life is your own, and the good is to live it.
Will Neff? How's Phyllis doing?
Okay, as I've said before, the best way to do the story is to recast it as a science fiction movie. I mean much more science fiction than Atlas Shrugged already is. Kind of like The Stars My Destination did with The Count of Monte Cristo. Similar themes and plot, but substantial changes to tighten up the story. Not that The Stars My Destination is better than the Dumas original--as much as I love it, it's not--but it is more accessible as a film, if it were to be made into one.
The other option is porn. Not mindless, plotless porn, but porn with a message. Atlas Shagged.
Instead of trains, whorehouses.
Close. Instead of trains, sexbots. Made with Rearden Feel.
Powered by static, targeted by the Whores' Union - I think this could be workable.
The "Anti-Dog-Fuck-Dog Rule."
Or, better yet, the "Anti-Fuck-Bot Rule."
Want to read something that will make your blood boil?
Holy shit. That's enough to make me want to jaunt to the reviewer's home and shove a copy of Bester's book down his throat. I mean, he didn't even mention the book.
I doubt the anonymous reviewer has ever heard of the book, much less read it.
I'm sorry, but you can't review science fiction if you haven't read any. It's a moral imperative.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Are your tattoos showing?
Reason, you are watering down your brand by latching on to these turkeys.
I wonder if this part is going to address who suckled and raised John Galt and how he pooped in his pants and got sick until he was properly raised and immunized by others who are/were less selfish?
Or what happens when he has a car accident and becomes a vegetable?

"I wonder if this part is going to address who suckled and raised John Galt and how he pooped in his pants and got sick until he was properly raised and immunized by others who are/were less selfish?"
I wonder how craig became such a lying, slimy asshole.
Were you born that way craig? Or have you spent long years learning to be such a sleaze bag?
Are your parents as despicable as you? Your kids?
How does it feel to be a resident of the lowest level of a septic tank? Do you warn people about how you smell before you go out?
This reminds me. I talked to my parents the other day and they assured me that I don't owe freeloading progs like you jack shit.
Paris Hilton types taking over the family railroad or copper mine is fine, but why are other characters vilified for just trying to maintain competition and promote equal opportunity?

"Paris Hilton types taking over the family railroad or copper mine is fine, but why are other characters vilified for just trying to maintain competition and promote equal opportunity?"
Yeah, 'promote equal opportunity' at the point of a gun.
Welcome, oh brain-dead lefty! Tell us more lies! You and craig can compete for the low-watt-bulb award.
Hey, who is gonna take care of John Galt when he gets dementia and needs continuous care for 10 years? Is it going to be a west african immigrant at the low wages they get? If so, we'll need a welfare and food stamp program to make up for the shortcomings....
What's gonna happen if Ebola of another flu epidemic occur after Galt shows his face?
Fact: Every so-called Fictional John Galt stands on the shoulders of millions of others. The good ones, like Buffet and Gates, attempt to bring the others up and appreciate the work that others do. The diseased ones (diseased minds) do as the Koch's and other right wingers do and kick the working people so they can trample them.
Yeah, those Evul Kochs are SO diseased, they "kick workers" by support PBS, NPR, the arts, provide water treatment....cause they can afford to, and they do it freely, without coercion.
Veritable monsters, indeed.
D- trolling - you're getting worse.
And libertarians fully support Buffet's and Gates' rights to bring others up, as long as they aren't supporting people or policies that do so by forcing "charity" out of others. Some may question whether they're doing so wisely, but that is a totally separate issue. And FWIW, what I know about the Gates' charitable programs seems pretty good to me.
Generally speaking, charity gives me warm fuzzies. Doesn't matter if it comes from Buffet or the Kochs, so long as the goals are just and the methods seem sound.
But then, I'm not blinded by team mentality the way you seem to be. I pity people suffering from it. The world is an awesome place full of awesome people, but team thinking prevents people from appreciating, what, 30% or so of it? It's self destructive, but then I guess hate usually is.
Hey, who is gonna take care of John Galt when he gets dementia and needs continuous care for 10 years?
Need is not a claim, hotshot. Who says anyone is going to take care of him or that anyone should? If it bothers you, you can take care of him.
Sounds like a solid plan to me dude.
