My wife and I flew first class last year. After being thoroughly vetted by TSA to be safe and terror free, we were seated and asked if we wanted a drink. The flight attendant brought my wife's white wine in a proper white wine glass with a 4" to 6" long stem. One click on the seat frame and voila', a glass stiletto.

As long as terrorist don't fly first class though we're safe.

All of these arbitrary rules make completely no sense.

The container size limitations are mind-bogglingly stupid, considering they don't bar the number of containers you bring (though I imagine a large number may lead to questioning) AND they sell large soda bottles in the stores at the terminals. I have never, not once, followed the "you have to put all your containers in one Ziplock bag" rule despite a gazillion warnings that this is required; nothing has ever happened to me because my repeated failures (is this even a rule anymore? I don't read any sign around the security lines anymore).

I have no effing clue why our shoes have the be taken off or what exactly they're looking for in the X-ray machine. Just because one dimwit "terrorist" stupidly hid an extremely badly-assembled bomb in his shoe doesn't mean it's in the Terrorist Go-To Handbook (and I imagine they would have figured out a way to trick the X-ray machine by now).

I read an article the other day by a former Tel Aviv airport security agent. He argued convincingly that the entire premise of TSA's "security" scheme was flawed: it focuses too much on THINGS, not PEOPLE (and by people, he doesn't mean doing any sort of racial/cultural profiling).

I got my ducks today, finally.

Pressure cooked for an hour with three large onions, chicken broth and a heavy dose of garlic. Deboned and ground twice with a quarter cup of orange zest and some orange sauce. Orange duck paste.

Spread it on a ritz cracker with a sliver of Swiss cheese......It is freakin' delicious.

While preparing that I watched the movie 'The Giver', which is a take on 'Brave New World'. Again I ask, if the hollywood types get it enough to make a movie condemning collectivism, why do they walk off of the set and start demanding it? I think it is all social signaling and they don't actually believe any of the shit they say.

Grammar-school sums show that the man-hour delays caused by TSA and the resultant man-deaths (we all only live X hours) far exceed any possible 'saving' of lives as a result of TSA's supposed mission.
And this ignores the deaths resulting from diverting people from (safer) air travel to (more dangerous) automobile travel.
I'm not sure I agree that there is an intent to 'train' the population, but there certainly is an intent to employ further low-info voters at the expense of supposed 'safety'.
