  • Nardz||

    Austin...
    For, literally, a cocktail party.

    Stay woke

  • Fredo||

    It's why Welch has gotten so shitty lately, he knows all the jokes are true and he's grown to despise himself.

  • Last of the Shitlords||

    I should show up and basically be me. Matt will enjoy the angry lecture about where he's wrong on everything lately.

    I almost feel I owe it to him to correct him.

  • Sonny Bono's Ghost||

    Lets also just ignore that Mark Tippetts, the Libertarian candidate for Texas Governor is speaking that same week a few blocks away. Reason has had zero mentions of the event, or even the damn candidate for that matter - go ahead, search, I'll wait.

  • Sonny Bono's Ghost||

    ...what I'm most mad about is that Johnson had endless coverage of the fact he was being excluded from debates, and Tippetts is undergoing the same thing as we speak, and he has more support statistically speaking than Johnson did for Pres.

  • Just Say'n||

    Are you guys all going to talk about how important it is to understand and be nice to socialists?

  • ||

    You were really quite severely triggered by that, weren't you?

  • ||

    Never mind - I didn't see how old this post was before I responded.

  • Just Say'n||

    No. I was triggered. I will not be nice to socialists, anymore than I would Nazis

  • BestUsedCarSales||

    Get over it. It was literally minutes ago the last atrocity happened.

  • Dillinger||

    Dallas and you're on. Austin blows.

  • Deconstructed Potato||

    Ditto.

  • ATXChappy||

    Born and raised in Dallas, Austin's better.

  • Tony||

    The only good thing about Dallas is the concentration of people willing to have anonymous gay sex with you.

  • BestUsedCarSales||

    That's a pretty good thing, imo.

  • Chipper Morning Baculum||

    Austin is awesome. Dallas is one of the least interesting cities I have ever visited.

  • BestUsedCarSales||

    Lots of good Korean food in Dallas.

  • Last of the Shitlords||

    It hasn't been the same since JR Ewing passed away.

  • BestUsedCarSales||

    Will Iowahawk be there too?

  • BestUsedCarSales||

    It looks like yes, Iowahawk will be there. Which makes me very jealous that this is on a Wednesday. Sorry Welch. You're overshadowed.

  • Just Say'n||

    How would you know Iowahawk will be there other than the fact that you're Nick Sarwark?

  • BestUsedCarSales||

    David Burge is the shadow power behind the LP. Why do you think it's such a big joke?

  • Conchfritters||

    Go Hawks!

  • Aloysious||

    Or you could just regale me with stories about bats and bands and tacos.

    How about I tell you all about my cats? In great detail...

  • Derpmaster General||

    No Scott Horton or Cody Wilson? Meh.

  • Just Say'n||

    Scott Horton might actually bring in libertarians.

  • DesigNate||

    Mr. Wilson will be....otherwise detained.

  • Just Say'n||

    BUCS is going to be in Austin. Boo him

  • BestUsedCarSales||

    I'm also gonna be in Dallas for Christmas and maybe San Antonio for PAX.

  • SIV||

  • Just Say'n||

    Wilkinson is the original woketarian.

  • Tony||

    What do you disagree with in that tweet?

  • BestUsedCarSales||

    That last part of "or think women lying about sexual assault is a bigger problem than sexual assault."

    That's both a false dichotomy and a non-sequitor as one can both be concerned about false accusations of criminal activity and actual criminal activity.

  • lap83||

    not progressives, their passions are too strong and brains too small to emote about more than one thing at a time

  • Diane Reynolds (Paul.)||

    What do you disagree with in that tweet?

    The part after the blue checkmark.

  • DesigNate||

    Proving yet again that Niskanen (sp?) is about as libertarian as the RNC.

  • Diane Reynolds (Paul.)||

    the responses are priceless and spot on.

  • Tony||

    Do you guys go by the "if you black out, it didn't happen" rule of certain supreme court nominees?

  • BestUsedCarSales||

    Go to Austin to find out!

  • Diane Reynolds (Paul.)||

    What are the policy reasons you oppose Kavanaugh that don't involve a drunk, schizophrenic woman babbling on about something she can't prove and can't provide a reliable witness for?

  • Just Say'n||

    The same basis why Reason writers are willing to accept unsubstantiated allegations that are refuted by witnesses named by the accuser: Kavanaugh may allow states to restrict abortion whereby it will not be available through all nine months of pregnancy.

    It's an argument that can be had, but it's profoundly disingenuous that people are hiding their true rationale behind flimsy allegations

  • Tony||

    All of the policy reasons. I don't give a shit about the drunken antics. Like I'm someone to judge that.

  • Tony||

    But being a Heritage Foundation slut is not going to block his appointment, so I'll take what I can get. I haven't been much for the Democrats' strategy of unilateral disarmament in the face of Mitch McConnell.

  • loveconstitution1789||

    You Lefties have been outwitted by the Turtleman.

  • Diane Reynolds (Paul.)||

    I'll only go if Iowahawk shows up.

  • Don Escaped Texas||

    Burge just tweeted from Antone's

  • Just Say'n||

    Did you guys contact Scott Horton about attending?

  • ||

    I'm sure Steve Chapman will be there, why wouldn't Horton?

  • Just Say'n||

    I didn't know Chapman would be there. That sounds good

  • ||

    I'm just guessing - he used to publish here quite frequently, dontchano.

  • Just Say'n||

    I know. I remember. He got a lot of undeserved crap from commentators. Now him and Horton are running the Libertarian Institute

  • Just Say'n||

    Damn it. Not Chapman. We're both thinking of Richman. It's weird how we both confused him with Chapman and still knew who we were talking about

  • BestUsedCarSales||

    Sheldon Richman?

  • Just Say'n||

    Yes

  • lap83||

    'It's weird how we both confused him with Chapman and still knew who we were talking about'

    you know who else failed to see the difference between certain individuals?

  • BestUsedCarSales||

    Ford, if the doppelganger theory is true?

  • Last of the Shitlords||

    Chapman is a moron. Richman has bizarre positions on things, but he's not stupid.

    In Sheldon's view, if the Israelis handed the Palestinians their wallets and slit their own throats, world peace would ensue

  • Rich||

  • loveconstitution1789||

    Go to Austin to hang with matt welch or poke my eyes out?

    ...give me minute decide....

  • Last of the Shitlords||

    The opportunity to tell him how wrong he is has a certain appeal to it.

  • loveconstitution1789||

    Matt Welch trolls these comments.

    I saw an interview with him and he grinned when he referred to the Reason commenters as 'very opinionated' or something like that to articulate how uncensored we can be.
