Friday Night Freak-Out With Drew Carey

|

"I love taking off my Price Is Right suit," said Drew Carey on a recent Friday night, and "settling in to my rock and roll jeans." Which is what he does every week at 8 p.m. Eastern, when he hosts a three-hour Sirius XM radio show called Friday Night Freak-Out from Little Steven's Underground Garage. Carey (who serves on the board of Reason Foundation, the nonprofit that publishes Reason) is an unobtrusive presence on an extremely chill show that combines rock and soul music.

A recent episode kicked off with Steve Conte followed by the Four Tops. In brief interjections between songs, Carey drops tidbits about the bands he plays. The origin of the name of The Forty Nineteens, for instance, is the designation for time off from a prison sentence for good behavior. But mostly he just lets the playlist do the talking.
