Debate Over Obamacare Medicaid Expansion Continues in Florida

Supreme Court ruled it's optional for states

Some of the state's poorest individuals, who today aren't considered poor enough under the state's current Medicaid system, would be eligible to receive health care — and the federal government would give Florida billions of dollars to pay for it — if Gov. Rick Scott and the Legislature agree on a plan from the White House this spring.

"There are a million workers in Florida who could benefit," said Laura Goodhue, executive director of Florida Chain, a grass-roots health-care advocacy group out of South Florida, about provisions in the Affordable Care Act — a k a Obamacare — to expand Medicaid coverage in 2014.
