Brickbat: In the Bag

Not content with banning single-use plastic bags, California lawmakers have now banned all plastic shopping bags at grocery stores. A previous law allowed Californians the option of buying thicker plastic bags, touted as being recyclable, to carry their groceries. But officials said those were just being tossed in the trash. Shoppers will now have to bring their own bags or use paper bags provided by stores.

Why does California hate trees so much?
They don't really hate trees so much as they hate individual choices.
Wait there's one topic on which California holds "choice" sacrosanct. I'm so confused.
Would someone please think of the owls!
Soft racism.
Still not going far enough. Cali should require the bags to be made from sustainably harvested non-binary lichens or customers must consume everything they purchased at the end of the checkout aisle.
But paper bags require more energy and water to make than plastic bags. Cotton bags are even worse.

It’s ok California has lots of water. Oh, wait.
To be fair, I doubt they actually make the paper bags in California.
Can we ban plastic politicians?
I must note, again, that when the original plastic bag ban went into effect, they also imposed a ten cent tax on PAPER bags. Which are fully biodegradable and reusable and recyclable. Which just goes to show Democrats will waste no opportunity to impose a tax.
What is this new and extended plastic ban going to tax? Will we have to pay a tax to use our own bags?
Pelosi hardest hit
"Shoppers will now have to bring their own bags or use paper bags provided by stores."
But didn't we get plastic bags in the fist place because the same people who now want to get rid of plastic bags wanted to get rid of paper bags?
Your issue isn’t the issue. Their issue isn’t the issue. Their issue is to distract you from their need for power and control.
They don't care about plastic or paper. They need to flip flop so that, whenever anti-gravity nets or food replicator/teleporters come along, everybody thinks "Of course someone needs to regulate them. The same people who've regulated grocery conveyance since the plastic was first invented."
Just wondering - - -
Was 'fist place' a typo, or an editorial comment, or a call to action?
aux barricades !
>Shoppers will now have to bring their own bags or use paper bags provided by stores.
Soon they'll forbid purchase tracking and bring back green stamps, leaded gasoline, and making your kid change the channel on the tv because remotes won't be available anymore.
Why provide bags at all, it has been years since I shopped there so not sure if they still do this but Sams would just leave out empty boxes for you to put your items in. Just do that or even better just leave them in the cart and unload them into plastic tubs in your trunk. Problem solved.
DID YOU SAY PLASTIC TUBS!?!?
Great idea except for the comrades in democrat cities that have to use 'public transportation'.
"The global is warming!," they shrieked.
"No wait, the global is cooling!," they then shrieked.
"No wait, the climate is changing!," they later shrieked.
"What does that mean," she asked?
"It means shut up and do what you're told!"
Remember when paper bags were going to kill the rainforest or whatever? Most of you might be too young for that. I'd suggest you watch Ferngully, but Reason is already lacking in the brain cells department in the first place.
This is very annoying stuff. In an eastern state Aldi's is all onboard with this and does not supply bags but they do have cardboard boxes you can use. I think those are made from those things that come out of the ground with limbs and leaves and such. When we get home I burn them.
