Brickbat: Down the Toilet

California Gov. Gavin Newsom could withdraw state funds from a planned public toilet in San Francisco that is expected to cost $1.7 million and take two years to build. That includes the time and costs of permitting, reviews and public comment, as well as the actual construction. "A single, small bathroom should not cost $1.7 million," said Erin Mellon, Newsom's communications director.

It was a crappy idea .
I am making 80 US dollars per hr. to complete some internet services from home. I did not ever think it would even be achievable , however my confidant mate got $13k only in four weeks, easily doing this best assignment and also she convinced me to avail.

But the state is flush with money!
Scatter brained!
"A single, small bathroom should not cost $1.7 million," said Erin Mellon, Newsom's communications director.
If it costs more than a sidewalk and a hose then they're wasting money.
You forgot about the housing for the guy using the hose to wash the sidewalk.
And what about the unions?
What do you think the toilet doubles as?
The land the toilet sits on is worth 3.5 mil.
At $1.7M, Trump would've at least gotten some nice gold plated fixtures out of the deal.
Somebody needs some fiber to get this shit moving.
More of the details need to be flushed out.
The details can’t be kept in-house! (What’s the opposite of that?$
That just runs into more problems
Yeah, but those problems are down hill. So who gives a crap?
In San Francisco public money is spent to support people on the public payroll, and if it accomplishes anything real it is by accident. Look at the final cost of homeless housing - they could have set up the homeless in a good hotel in Lake Tahoe with meals and maid service for life.
Yeah, this. To a big government addict, expanding and then getting on the public payroll is certainly more important than solving a problem. And any hint of solution might threaten funding--and also risk losing a political campaign issue.
The existing public toilets have such an issue with junkies and people generally trashing them that they are manned by 1-2 public works employees and I'm assuming those ongoing costs are not part of this shitshow of a proposal
This is California. $1.7m on paper before construction even starts means $7.4m six years from now when it's finished.
And another $2m to settle the NIMBY lawsuits.
Seattle, for a very short time, had a few toilets that cost nearly that much each. These were magical things that disappeared into the sidewalk during the day, so that they did not take up any space, and rose out of the ground at night when they were needed (or maybe vice-versa).

So did this involve pod people too?

Yet it's the policies of fuckwits like you and your boss that have made it so.
They already have public toilets. Why, there used to be a TV series about those— The Streets of San Francisco!
