Brickbat: What's the Big Emergency?

A Rochester, New York, police officer, who wasn't named by media, has been placed on administrative duty pending an investigation of an incident in which he handcuffed and placed into a police car an EMT who was working in the emergency room at Strong Memorial Hospital. The officer was parked in an ambulance bay, and the EMT reportedly hit his car with the door of an ambulance while unloading a patient. The officer tried to stop the EMT and get her information, but she continued to take the patient into the emergency room. The officer followed her in, grabbed her arm and handcuffed her and took her to his car. Supervisors from both the ambulance service and the police department responded, and the EMT was released without charges.

To be fair, anyone who is illegally parked in an ambulance bay is going to be upset getting his work car dinged. And who among us wouldn't be suspended with pay for committing felonious assault on an on-duty EMT?
Reminds me of the arrest of the nurse in Idaho who refused to do a blood test on a guy the cops were after for some supposed crime, maybe DUI. The cops arrested her, cuffed her and verbally abused her. They got publicity over the event and had a change of heart.
I without a doubt have made $18k inside a calendar month thru operating clean jobs from a laptop. As I had misplaced my ultimate business, I changed into so disenchanted and thank God I searched this easy task (neh-65) accomplishing this I'm equipped to reap thousand of bucks simply from my home. All of you could really be part of this pleasant task and will gather extra cash on-line

Cops in principle know how much they rely on the medical community to prioritize their own should it come down to that. In practice, however, the obedience-or-violence instinct/training kicks in and all bets are off.
Years ago I got to see a fire engine push a car out of the way that was parked in front of a hydrant. Brush fire across the street and they needed the water. They don't fuck around with small fires here during the summer.
They just nudged up to the bumper and started shoving and that little thing didn't have a chance. Fireman said it's legal, though it was the only time he'd done it in his career to that point. When the car owner came back he had a shit fit, so the cop gave him a ticket for parking in the red.
I always wondered if that dude's insurance paid for that bumper.
Vids show up from time to time of the firefighters blowing the windows out on both sides and dragging the hose through the car.
There's a case where I got their backs; your car, park it where you're not endangering others.
Government property is more important than some citizens life.
Are you trying to say that citizens are not government property? What kind of barbarian are you?!?
some government property is more equal than other government property.
Gotta respect that authoritah
Let's hope this cop has a heart attack, and this EMT "responds".
There was a story a while back about a cop pulling over someone and being a dick (I repeat myself I know), so the person who he pulled over informed him that he was an ER doctor and that he's be sure to treat the officer with the same respect should the situation be reversed. Needless to say the cop let him go.
Didn't happen.
But it should have!
Supervisors from both the ambulance service and the police department responded, and the EMT was released without charges.
Nobody apologized, no one was reprimanded, and it will surely happen again. And again. And again.
To Protect and Serve!
Also, where's the usual litany of comments about how this isn't a brickbat and how Reason should be reporting on culturwar instead and why Reason is silent on whatever Biden said last night?
We were waiting for some TDS-addled asshole like Brandyshit to show up and defend droolin' Joe, Branyshit.
Stuff your TDS up your ass; your head's asking for company.
Cop should have cited himself for parking in the ambulance bay and interfering with an emergency vehicle. Then he should have screamed "stop resisting!" and tazed himself.
ya but did he get a date?
"The ambulance bay in front of the emergency room is typically reserved for ambulances only but the investigator was parked there, planning to go inside for a case."
"typically reserved for ambulances only?" When are exceptions allowed?
Hell of a lot safer than entering a room occupied by a kid intent on murdering other kids, right Cowards of Uvalde?
