Brickbat: Surfing U.S.A.

The Pinellas County, Florida, Sheriff's Office has fired Deputy Joshua Sacino for violating his duties and responsibilities and committing acts unbecoming of members of the agency. An investigation found Sacino spent four hours one day parked in his patrol vehicle surfing the Internet. When asked to document his activities, Sacino told a supervisor he had stopped one car and given the driver a warning. He later drove to a Walmart, picked a car at random and wrote a report saying the vehicle's driver was "involved in drug activity." After reviewing his bodycam video, supervisors confronted Sacino, who confessed his lies. "It's a serious matter," said Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri. "Deputy Sacino did this for self-serving reasons, to conceal his lack of activity and incompetence, with no regard of the consequences this report could have had for the citizen involved, or for any citizen operating that vehicle in the future."

Aside from the false report I'm.. totally fine with the cop sitting around not harassing people or "raising revenue."
"Deputy Sacino did this for self-serving reasons, to conceal his lack of activity and incompetence, with no regard of the consequences" to citizens
Just fill in the name of most any government employee, as it applies to all of them. There is seldom any consequences to government employees for not doing their jobs, except for the lowest level employees. This guy got fired, for falsely accusing the owner of a vehicle of being involved in drugs. IMHO, he should be prosecuted because what he did is far more immoral than someone consuming drugs. Are police immune from this crime? Time to reform the police, but not like the way all the big cities run by Democrats for decades have reformed their police into oppressive kneel on the neck jackboots for the Democrats. No surprise they'd try to distract our view from who's responsible via the "Defund the Police" movement, meanwhile calling the country (and themselves) "systemically racist" as the reason (plus Trump of course).
I'm not totally fine paying a cop to sit around; they're supposed to be protecting us by seeking out people who've harmed others and arresting them, while they're living off the sweat of taxpayer labor. Why doesn't someone go out and arrest the lying deputy? Why it's the professional courtesy of those in the political class, for others in the political class. They don't prosecute each other, unless one starts pointing out the corruption, then they prosecute the whistleblower.
Maybe someone could start GoFundMe accounts for cops and government employees in general.
To Protect and Serve.
Except as Uvalde shows, and court rulings have affirmed, police have no duty to protect. So what the fuck are they serving?
Democrat political contributions?

Hey, if you're not doing anything wrong. Oh, wait...
The Uvalde Police Department is looking for men who can act busy while doing nothing.
