Brickbat: And the Horse You Rode in on, Too

French Prime Minister Emmanuel Macron said his COVID-19 policy is to "piss off" those who aren't vaccinated. "As for the non-vaccinated, I really want to piss them off," he said in an interview. "And we will continue to do this, to the end. This is the strategy." Macron's government is considering legislation that would bar the unvaccinated from restaurants, cinemas, planes and trains, even if they have a negative COVID-19 test. "When my freedoms threaten those of others, I become someone irresponsible," Macron said "Someone irresponsible is not a citizen."

This didn't end well for other out-of-touch French leaders.
Has anything ever ended well for out-of-touch French leaders?
Macron sees himself as a king, rather than as a president. He should remember what happened to the last King of France.
Abdicated, fled to England, and died of natural causes at age 76?
To the authoritarian crowd there, he’s a French tickler.
Y'all have heard of "scapegoats", right? The ancient Israelites laid their sins onto a defenseless domestic goat, and kicked it out into the desert, to be devoured by wild animals!
The French could take lessons... Gather all of the un-vaccinated cooties-befesteredness of un-vaccinated French folks, concentrate such cooties, and inject the resulting fluids into snails... Then drop said snails into boiling butter, and EAT that them thar snails!!!
And if they did this in high-falutin' style in fancy, speedy, expensive car with a giant "S" painted onto the hood... Bystanders would explain, "Look at that "S-car" go!"
C'est la Guerre!
It can't happen here.
Kind of a sad to live through the era of history where, in the same year, we learn that the Nazis, the French Aristocracy, and Antebellum Democrats actually won.
Macron would make the Regime de Vichy proud.
If he did what... Acted like that private school in Florida? (I think we could find a middle ground somewhere, if the politicians would let us!)

Florida School Run by Idiots Says Vaccinated Students Must Stay Home for 30 Days After Each Shot
This is the same school where a teacher told students not to hug their vaccinated parents for more than five seconds.
See? We are ALL data-driven by now! My data says the OTHER (evil) tribe believes in vaccines, so MY tribe must BAN and SHUN the BAD tribe (and their cooties) as much as possible!
The unvaccinated are now CLEAN and the vaccinated are UNCLEAN! Civic-minded BAD! Afraid of micro-chips in vaccines GOOD! Black is white, and good is evil!
The difference, SQRLSY, being that when the private school administrators act like idiots, parents can move their kids to a different, saner school. When heads of government do the same thing, yeah, that's a lot worse.
Oh, agreed! I am one of these so-called "crazies" that thinks we should have "separation of school and state". Sad to say, it's not gonna happen any time soon... But IMHO, that would be ideal!
What a moron. First, he's wrong as a matter of medical science. Once I get vaccinated, your decision to vaccinate or not represents no threat to me.
- In the strong-vaccination case, the vaccination protects you from infection even when those around you are unvaccinated and sick.
- In the weak-vaccination case, you can still catch the disease from others but it is less severe. But in that weak vaccination case, the others around you only have access to the same weak vaccine and are equally likely to catch the disease and be infectious regardless of their own vaccination status.
The only second-tier factor is that a sufficient population of vaccinated people (in the strong-vaccination scenario) can provide 'herd immunity' to those who want to but cannot be vaccinated. That includes folks like my immunocompromised son who cannot take any of the current generation of vaccines. But Marcon's ham-handed policy treats those poor souls just as harshly as those who voluntarily refuse vaccination.
The real hypocrisy, however, is that Marcon himself is "exercising freedoms" that threaten those of others. By his own definition, he is acting irresponsibly.
Please stop insulting the....morons. Thank you.
I can’t believe that there aren’t enough immunocompromised individuals who could force a change in the definition of who is safe.
Much of the rest of the world recognizes prior infection, immunocompromise, and vaccinated as equally in compliance, so as to hold a “safe” pass.
This discrimination of the medically disabled is very much a US-led issue.
I don’t know why the disabled don’t band together to fight to be treated as normal, for the purposes of employment and entry to venues.
Reason, please quit giving Democrats ideas.
"Someone irresponsible is not a citizen."
I guess Macron isn't French.
If Macron tripped over his pettiness and fell head-first into a woodchipper, would the French use the opportunity to fight for their freedom…. or just surrender?
"French Prime Minister Emmanuel Macron..."
He is the President of France. The prime minister is Jean Castex. This article doesn't look too serious from the get go.
Charles Oliver is a hack. He gets facts wrong every day. He’s also a plagiarist.
did this frog just call me a nigger?
And we will continue to do this, to the end.
"Let them inject cake!"
What freedoms threaten others and what freedoms are threatened?
Macron is president, not prime minister.
