In Colorado, officials with Academy School District 20 say they are investigating after multiple parents  of students at Chinook Trail Middle School said teachers are taping their children's masks to their faces. The complaints started after one student posted a photo of herself with her mask taped to her face to social media. Teachers are reportedly taping masks to faces if they catch a student wearing his or her mask incorrectly more than once.

What if your child has schmutz on their face? Having been a kindergarten teacher, touching faces of the students is sometimes necessary at some ages.

Tape is a bit odd though, but unless regular tape as seen in most school is not grounds for a violent reaction.

I haven't looked at/compared the rates. What I do know is that the obfuscation around internal investigations, quietly letting problems go to other schools, keeping details out of the media (complicitly or not), and the comparatively larger/obvious problems makes The Church look like paragons of virtue.

When was the last time you heard of a Swiss Guard officer beating a student for refusing to obey? Imagine how fucked up the system would have to be having a police officer on duty 8 hrs. every day in half the Catholic Churches in the country and sexual abuse and shuffling priests is still a problem.

If a kid has schmutz on their face? Hand them a wipe, point them to a mirror, and let them learn how to clean up after themselves. I feel fortunate for the kids you're not teaching.
