Biden Administration To Donate 500 Million Doses of Pfizer-BioNtech Covid-19 Vaccine to Poor Countries
Epidemics anywhere threaten immunization efforts everywhere, including here at home.

Even as rising vaccinations have evidently begun to tame the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States and other rich countries, the rest of the world is still afflicted with erratic and deadly surges of the coronavirus. Countries that do not have access to mass supplies of COVID-19 vaccines are evolving new variants of the virus that are more transmissible but that do not so far evade the protection of current versions of the vaccines. However, epidemics anywhere threaten immunization efforts everywhere. Billions of unvaccinated people is the perfect evolutionary environment in which to incubate even more dangerous variants that could restart the pandemic among those of us in America who are now protected by vaccines.
The Biden Administration has reportedly cut a deal to buy 500 million doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine to donate to poor countries around the world. The goal is to distribute 200 million by the end of the year followed by 300 million in the first half of next year. This is on top of the 80 million doses the U.S. government has pledged to deliver to poor countries by the end of June. COVAX, the nonprofit international vaccine consortium, aims to deliver 2 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccines to poor countries before the end of this year.
A recent analysis by the International Monetary Fund calculates spending $50 billion on manufacturing and distributing COVID-19 vaccines across the world would generate $9 trillion in global economic returns by 2025. Viruses blindly treat human bodies as open access commons suitable for their reproductive plunder. Using widespread vaccination to enclose the human health commons before more dangerous COVID-19 variants evolve is a worthy endeavor.

Epidemics anywhere threaten immunization efforts everywhere, including here at home
WTF?
A hookworm epidemic in E. Europe threatens immunization efforts in the US?
A tetanus epidemic in India threatens immunization efforts in the West?
A Zika epidemic in Brazil threatens immunization efforts pretty much anywhere else?
An anthrax epidemic in Pakistan threatens immunization efforts pretty much anywhere else?
Anti-scientific socialist claptrap.
Also, Ron, you're stupidity is artificially narrow. Presuming that the COVID pandemic was from a naturally occuring colony of bats, nothing short of innoculating every last reservoir mammal is a threat to immunization efforst.
Presuming it wasn't from bats, then the same globalist governments that are propping up immunization efforts are the existential threat to those same efforts.
Fauci is guilty of causing the pandemic.
Making money online more than 800$ just by doing simple work from home. I have received $18376 last month. Its an easy and simple job to do and its SAAS earnings are much better than regular office job and even a little child can do this and earns money. Everybody must try this job by just use the info

There’s a pandemic now? I thought it was just a bad flu year.

It’s also unscientific because it assumes that the only way to control a communicable disease is through inoculations.
We could save all the money wasted on the vaccines to be “donated” by simply ending all immigration and tourism traced to problematic sources.
We could save all the money by quarantining all visitors and immigrants.
We could just test our population of volunteers for antibodies and politely ask anyone without to please take the vaccine. That would cost much less than buying a shitload of vaccines WITH TAXPAYER dollars and shipping it to non-citizens.
However, epidemics anywhere threaten immunization efforts everywhere.
This is quite the sophist argument to justify spending money on foreign nations.
Next up, Bailey argues war anywhere threatens war everywhere.
Civil violations anywhere threatens civil violations everywhere.
Very libertarian.
"400,000 people worldwide die every year from malaria. Trump was right, take your HCQ." - Ron Bailey

Except for the dozen or more studies, AMA stating quietly this year stating that hcq has some positive effects and low risk..
But no, keep trusting your 3.0 GPA journalism major posing as a scientist instead.
Except for the dozen or more studies, AMA stating quietly this year stating that hcq has some positive effects and low risk..
For COVID, there's hundreds upon hundreds of studies showing the positive effects and low risk for malaria.
Good to know that you think the notion that 'epidemics anywhere threaten immunization efforts everywhere' is utter scientific rubbish.
Could it be a typo?
"epidemics nowhere threaten immunization everywhere?"
Because if there's no epidemic there's no need for immunization
Epidemics in Knowhere threaten more than half of all life in the known universe.
Bailey is a cuck. Hes scared of the kungflu so everyone should be forced to keep him safe no matter what.
I dont wear a mask and never have since all this hysteria started. I wont get the vaccine. Georgia is doing great and things have been open here the entire time. We also dont have mask requirements.
I cant wait to rub to in the face of pussies like bailey how they are commies and little ignorant lemmings the rest of their lives.
Its like the cults idiots who would never admit that they are retarded lemmings. And that is why some dipshit Lefty took advantage of them.
Georgia is eighth highest state in number of deaths, so not that great. Anyway haven’t you heard the new take is that Covid is in fact dangerous and you can now blame it on Fauci and China?
Imagine thinking starting a war and donating life saving vaccines are the same thing.
"Epidemics anywhere threaten immunization efforts everywhere, including here at home."
Yeppers, every single infected person is a potential breeder of that new variant that breaks through the vaccines, starting this whole damn thing or a worse version anew.
The sky is definitely falling in your world. This has been true of viruses since mammals first evolved.
Actually it's been true since viruses evolved (predating males by a billion or so years)
I've been told everything is the fault of white males.
Epidemics anywhere threaten immunization efforts everywhere, including here at home.
While this is true in the most flaccid, wishy-washy way possible, from a standpoint of practicality, it's bordering on laughable, and requires a mountain of context before the statement becomes meaningful in any specific way.
Wonder if Bailey thinks it's smart to vaccinate immune people?
Biden Administration To Donate 500 Million Doses of Pfizer-BioNtech Covid-19 Vaccine to Poor Countries
Paid for by me, or has Hunter decided to foot the bill and go cold turkey for a month?
As long as it isn't the Hennessey rates.
Don’t talk like that about my home boy, n***a.
Fuck off, incompetent collectivist
Keep whimpering, disaffected, powerless, anti-social misfit.
The Biden Administration has reportedly cut a deal to buy 500 million doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine to donate to poor countries around the world.
Horseshit. They're going to hand the vaccines over to the governments of the poor countries, which are poor because they're run by corrupt gangs of incompetent thieves and murderers. How the hell do you suppose those vaccines are going to be distributed? Might as well flush them down the toilet because that's where half of them will wind up. Most of the other half are going to be sold on the black market, along with tens of millions of adulterated, contaminated, expired and counterfeit vaccines.
Stacked in a warehouse like bottled water in Puerto Rico.
Remember when Democrats filled “inoculations” with syphillis?
The party of slavery will do anything to keep slaves.
Pretty much. Didn't the US already overpurchase or promise to purchase based on more demand?
Could this just be fullfilling the current contact and we are trying to make it sound better than "we overbought 500 million doses for the trash".
I'm just curious if this is pure spin.
Doesn't sound like it. From what I remember, we bought 300M Pfizer, 300M Moderna, and 100M J&J. We also have ordered a bunch of AztraZenica, NovaVax, and a bunch of others we haven't authorized. We ordered too much, but we didn't order 500M of any particular vaccine. So, this appears to be a new order. Which, I guess is very generous of us, but doesn't really get the vaccines to the developing world any faster, as COVAX was perfectly capable of buying vaccines themselves. It may mean that Pfizer got paid the ~$20/dose it was charging the developed world, rather than the $3-5/dose it would have likely charged the developing world.
If we really wanted to help, we would figure out how to ship out some of the 68M doses (equivalent to nearly 3 months of vaccine at our current administration rate) currently sitting in fridges around the country.
I wasn't sure how much we overbought, but I was sure we backed all of the options not knowing which ones would work. Not a bad strategy if money isn't the most important thing.
Yeah, it was a good strategy until we placed the last 100M dose orders with Pfizer and Moderna. At the time, we already had enough orders to vaccinate 300M, even without a single additional authorization.
There is a part of me that believes that the order was more a way for the Biden administration feel like it had something to do with the vaccine efforts than a legitimate way to get Americans vaccinated.
As an example of how absurd that order was: none of the vaccine makers have fully delivered the orders made by the prior administration. And we are up to our ears in vaccine. Throwing more doses on top is just a waste of “other people’s money” and, just as crucially, is taking up worldwide vaccine capacity that should be used elsewhere.
We are really missing a soft-power opportunity here.
Why doesn’t Biden pledge to vaccinated everyone in any country that asks for it? Have the US Army set up mass-immunization centers all over your country, and your citizens come by for their shot — and a warm handshake from some healthy, friendly Americans, and a brochure in the local language about American values.
When half your populations feels like it owes its lives to the US military, it’s gonna be hard to whip them into a frenzy over us.
We missed this opportunity in the aftermath of the 2006 tsunami. The Indonesian government made all sort of demands the US involvement be very low-key, and we complied to save lives — you know, because unlike some governments, we aren’t monsters. In this case, we can only save X people, so why not save them in the countries that are most cooperative with the US?
"governments of the poor countries, which are poor because they’re run by corrupt gangs of incompetent thieves and murderers."
The US?
There is truly no limit to the generosity of lefties when it comes to spending our wealth, and the wealth of our children and grandchildren. I wonder how many doses the ChiComs have generously donated to the rest of the world?
Trump is 100% right on this, if America still had a real government with some balls that actually put the best interest of its own citizens first, we'd send the ChiComs a massive bill for this whole fucking thing, considering they're the ones who unleashed the China virus on the rest of the world.
Or assuming that they would never pay any bill we'd send them, at the very least we would tell them that whatever money they've borrowed from us in the past has been cancelled out by the trillions of dollars their virus has cost us and we no longer owe them a dime.
None, because the chi-coms Dont have their own vaccine. Everything they have they were given, or they stole it.
China actually has a couple of vaccines. One of them though was found to only have 12% efficacy after it was widely deployed. Oops...
Kind of like Dumbya's $5 billion/yr AIDS in Africa program.
Except 1/10 the size.
Page 6 dummy.
https://fas.org/sgp/crs/row/R46368.pdf
From the link, it looks like the AIDS / health program portion of USA Aid to African countries rose from about $500M annually in FY 2001, the first year of the GWB presidency, to about $5B in FY 2008, the final year before Obama took over. It's remained approximately the same size since FY 2009.
Point being a budget is passed almost yearly, minus the continuing resolution bullshit which is really just a means of passing a baseline budget with 5% growth yearly. As shown, far more was sent under Obama, but the cultist seems to be more concerned with the smaller spending under W. It is an ignorant comment. If his issue was spending he would name everyone sending billions to Africa. He didn't.
The 'annual' spending rose under W and hasn't since.
So bush was still passing the budgets from FY09 until now? Do you know how budgets work?
No. He is definitely not responsible for the spending from FY09 - now.
If your point was that he was not running a $5B/yr program, that's correct. It averaged about $2.25B/yr under Bush.
I agree, note the cost wasn't reported but I'm sure is huge.
To be fair, given Fauci and the people who managed him are also responsible for helping fund the research, the US is also responsible for the pandemic to some extent. We can't hold China responsible without also accepting responsibility. Personally, I'd like all the researchers and funders to be held individually responsible, along with the people managing them, in both countries. I'd bet polls would show people overwhelmingly opposed to gain of function research, to harm humans. But elites seem to dream of it.
Using widespread vaccination to enclose the human health commons before more dangerous COVID-19 variants evolve is a worthy endeavor.
Herd immunity wasn't absurd enough. A "libertarian" science reporter had to go and generate *and then claim protection of* whatever the hell the 'human health commons' is. Why don't we protect the 'human health commons' from an even more deadly and even easier to prevent disease, like HIV first? Fuck you, Ron.
I mean, fuck, the virus, supposedly blindly, only plundered people over 60 with multiple co-morbidities. "I claim this human health common for the people." is more blind and more plunderous.
Foreign aid: Taking money from poor people in rich countries and giving it to rich people in poor countries.
This vaccine aid seems different in that is in our self interest to decrease the odds of new variants. Of course, there’s always the details of whether the countries being aided distribute and use the vaccines efficiently.
Said lime someone who doesn't understand science.
This has been the fucking case since the beginning of life.
You just want to justify your hypocrisy for being for this government spending.
Variants arise because the disease is taking too long to spread worldwide and flame out.
Had there been no lockdowns and other interventions, the same number of people end up sick or die, except faster, so no variants would exist.
Interventions dragged it out.
The House Democrats are moving forward with regulating social media.
"The lawmakers are considering five draft bills, the documents show. They would make it unlawful for operators of large platforms to control a business that creates an irreconcilable conflict of interest, to advantage their own products or services over a competitor, and to acquire companies that pose current or potential competitive threats.
Another bill targets the budgets of antitrust enforcement agencies, while a fifth requires platforms to make their services interoperable with those of other companies.
https://www.wsj.com/articles/draft-antitrust-bills-would-restrict-online-platforms-11623269646?
That highlighted bit may seem like a good idea because it would make social media more like a phone carrier. When you buy cell service from AT&T, you can call people in your contacts list who buy cell service from Verizon or T-Mobile. Why wouldn't we want Facebook users to be able to post comments for people on Parler, Twitter, and YouTube to see?
Why aren't our contact lists portable from one platform to the other. After all, the reason it's so hard to drag people away from one social media platform to another is that you can't take your contacts with you. If you leave, your contacts can't follow you. Hell, Facebook became the dominant platform by letting people import their contacts from MySpace.
My question is about rules and moderation.
I've long argued that we're headed towards a consent decree from the antitrust cases, in which the dominant social media companies will agree to moderation standards that ban "hate speech", "conspiracy theories", "violent threats", etc., but the Democrats consider opposition to affirmative action hate speech, the suggestion that covid-19 escaped from a lab to be a conspiracy theory, and support for the Second Amendment as a check on oppressive government as a violent threat.
So, if Facebook is forced to open its users up so they can see posts from Parler, does that mean Parler users can still support a wall on our southern border without it being flagged as xenophobic, oppose abortion without it being flagged a misogynistic, oppose gay marriage without it being flagged as homophobic, oppose affirmative action without it being flagged as racist, etc?
I suspect "interoperability" means Parler will be forced, ultimately, to accept the same moderation standards as Facebook, Twitter, and everyone else--in exchange for liability protection, etc. How do you mandate an interconnected social media with different moderation standards? How many Parler users are there for the exact reason that they don't want Facebook moderating their content?
No, only progressive views will be allowed
Somehow by the companies themselves, which up til now have moderated their own stuff without interference from the government.
It's not shocking that they don't want to be associated with the vile garbage people post. Funny that huh?
In the end, there will be no bill that mandates everything works together over a common standard (the technological scale to do that would be immense and nigh impossible). If it were a common protocol sure but all these networks use many different frameworks and backends. Regardless, you can be assured that companies probably don't want the liability of Joe Racist spouting off his bs on their platform. All for the better. You want that? Fine. Go to Gab or Parler or whatever fascist/racist hangout of the day. Don't be surprised though when very few people follow you.
Somehow by the companies themselves, which up til now have moderated their own stuff without interference from the government.
LOL. You still don’t get it.
Until the next time the pendulum swings to a conservative government, and the apparatus that was put into place to censor conservative viewpoints is used to suppress liberal viewpoints.
Conservatives might do it in the future so stop criticizing the left now.
Gee Ken, maybe you should actually wait until the bill is actually introduced before jumping to wild conclusions about what might be in the bill.
And by the way Ken.
I’ve long argued that we’re headed towards a consent decree from the antitrust cases, in which the dominant social media companies will agree to moderation standards that ban “hate speech”, “conspiracy theories”, “violent threats”, etc., but the Democrats consider opposition to affirmative action hate speech, the suggestion that covid-19 escaped from a lab to be a conspiracy theory, and support for the Second Amendment as a check on oppressive government as a violent threat.
Well right now, if you search "Second Amendment" on Facebook, you get no shortage of Facebook groups supporting the Second Amendment. I stopped counting at over 50.
So, if Democrats consider support for the Second Amendment to be a "violent threat", and if - as you have previously claimed - Big Tech companies like Facebook are mere puppets enacting the will of Democrat legislators in DC because they are terrified of anti-trust legislation and will do whatever their supposed Democrat masters tell them to do, then why are these Facebook Second Amendment groups still up? Why haven't they all been banned yet?
Jeff in the early 30s: "the Nazis would never continue to advance their agenda, right now they are just shutting down some immoral books. This will never escalate."
Or tear down statues they dont like....
Or censor speech...
Or invade sovereign nations...
“the reason it’s so hard to drag people away from one social media platform to another is that you can’t take your contacts with you”
That’s a fairly minor problem. The heart of the network effect is that you cannot “drag” all those people to a new platform if they are happy where they are.
Ken, I think the only workable approach would be designing social networks such that there is a separation between the client and the platform. Just like you can choose between Chrome, Firefox, Opera, etc. to browse the web, and the browser makers have nothing to do with the websites you visit.
Instead of having a Facebook app, a Twitter app, a Parker app, etc. you could install FireSocial, and then have it attach to whatever social networks you want. If you don't like Parlar's moderation policy, just don't add them to your social media client. If you want to post something "spicy" you can unclick the Facebook and Twitter options on FireSocial's post window. People who follow you on both Twitter and Parlar will have your messages reduplicated automatically. People who only follow you on Twitter won't see your spicy messages.
Of all options, this feels like the least bad one. It doesn't force platforms to host content against their will, while also allowing people to engage in all legal conversation, as long as they can find a platform willing to host it. The big problem I can't figure out is monetization. There really wouldn't be a good way for Twitter/Facebook to shove ads down your throat, if everything is being intermediated by FireSocial. Maybe FireSocial has to pay a thousandth of a penny per message, and then makes it up with advertising in the app (or gives you the option to pay a buck a month for ad free)?
You just described a protocol (which raspberrrydinners has been talking about a lot in these discussions).
The thing is, if you look at the history of how protocols become established, they are hardly ever (maybe never) retrofitted into existing systems. Instead, the way a social media protocol would happen is that colleges, open source developers, and startups would mutually develop a protocol to challenge existing social media platforms. The proposed Democratic laws that Ken describes would work against that type of innovation, while a free market and government's staying out of it, would be conducive to it.
Throwing more doses on top is just a waste of "other people's money" and, just as crucially, is taking up worldwide vaccine capacity that should be used elsewhere.
Oops reply put in the wrong place
Mike, I would think the details of the law would matter a lot. If all social networks are required to use the same protocol, that would obviously be extremely disruptive and destroy innovation. However, if the rule was merely that the protocol/API that the proprietary client uses to talk to the social network be documented, then I believe that would be far less of a problem. I believe Twitter already has an API that would meet the requirements of such a law.
I would like the market to take care of it, and I am certainly looking into the Fediverse. However, right now, we have Congress subpoenaing social media CEOs to effectively tell them "won't someone rid me off that troublesome priest...I mean misinformation" while threatening them with all manner of legislation and anti-trust action. This makes the claim that moderation decisions are fully private action questionable. If there is a piece of legislation that would get Congress off the social networks' backs, and won't cause too many issues, it might be better than a lot of the alternatives.
Stupid lockdowns probably cost over $10 trillion so not getting back to full economic normal.
Never listen to a democrat when it comes to anything.
Cry more you butthurt snowflake.
Wow...
You idiots never did learn how to use the term snowflake. I suspect its because non-leftists don't surrender to their urges to engage in such behaviour because, you know, being grown ups and all that.
Lefties are liars and they hate that most Americans ignore everything they say.
Its why democrats are so desperate. their voters are ditching them in droves.
THE IMPORTANT THING IS TO BLAME THE VIRUS ON A LAB LEAK SO TRUMP CAN RUN AGIN NEXT TIME!!
IT AIN'T HIS FAULT!
You biden cultists are breaking down.
Just remember : #TrumpWasRight
You know bio weapons are a thing right and they worked on them where the virus originated? Or maybe you don't. You don't seem that bright.
Trump, the best president in us history, will likely run again after civil war 2.0 is over.
We havent had a us president since jan 20, 2021 at noon. Trump was the last and best president, america has had. El presidente biden of the banana republic is so funny for the chimp that he is.
"A recent analysis by the International Monetary Fund calculates spending $50 billion on manufacturing and distributing COVID-19 vaccines across the world would generate $9 trillion in global economic returns by 2025. "
That's all you need to know. Like spending money on birth control and other things, society comes out way ahead in the long run. It's a savvy move that is not only morally right but economically right. Everyone should be in favor of it.
Have you ever seen a government economic forecast be accurate?
If by accurate you mean within 200% of projections... once or twice.
>That’s all you need to know.
Yes, big daddy government says its good, thats all you need to know...
As a Koch / Reason libertarian, I'd rather see our government bring hundreds of millions of people from poor countries into the US, so they can be vaccinated here. Then they can stay and join our labor force. Because our benefactor Charles Koch finds foreign-born labor more cost-effective than American-born, and libertarianism is primarily about maximizing billionaire profits.

buttplug must've just gotten an coffee enema and he's wired for another night of grooming kids.
You cant impeach el presidente biden. Hes not a us president. El presidente biden is a banana republic commie leader that controls nothing.
Commies in america wanted civil war 2.0 and got it.
It's probably not in the top 100 of worst things Hunter did, but ironically if Trump did that the left would explode with righteous indignation at finally having something REAL to pin on him.
It's good to be friends with America.
One thing I've noticed in all the news stories about this. How much does 500 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine cost? no one says.
Apparently, Pfizer is charging the U.S. $19.50 per dose, although the street price is closer to $200.
Even at the lower price, that's a cool 10 billion bucks. At retail, it's $100 billion.
That 20 bucks is after the US already gave them billions in logistics, transportation, distribution, etc...
Don't forget marketing.
It’s only $19.50 because Trump negotiated the price.
OT: Not any news article, just me two glasses into some wine, cooking dinner, and reading some comments that Yellen thinks inflation and bumping up interest rates wouldn't be the worst thing ever. That said, aren't a lot of the financial shenanigans the Federal Reserve and Treasury get up to, due to the USD being the only real reserve currency in town?
What if that were to change? The only sizable competitors to the Fed (cite hier: https://www.swfinstitute.org/fund-rankings/central-bank) are the People's Bank of China and the Japan Central Bank. No one else is within a factor of 3. Nobody trusts the Chinese numbers. Or trusts they won't commit fraud on a particularly epic scale.
But what if they were to join up with the Japanese? The World trusts them, at least as much as they trust us, these days. Have a joint national currency, with the PRC taking on all of Japan's staggering governmental debt, while the Japanese administrate it.
Yeah, yeah Nanking. Nanking happened 84 years ago. Imperial Japan lost 76 years ago. It's ancient history.
It solves a lot of problems for both sides, and probably gives the death blow to the US as a unified global power. Along with kicking off the mother of all depressions.
Seems likely that the next world reserve currency will be a basket of currencies. 40% Dollar, 30% Yuan, 20% Euro, something like that. Don't think the leading nations of the world are going to go all-in on one nation being the standard for everyone, not anymore.
I suppose the leading nations would continue to have their own currencies, e.g. the ones you mentioned: dollar, yuan, etc. For the second tier of nations, that base their currency on a leading nation's, I could see them adopting a basket approach.
But I'd place a bigger bet that something will happen with money and currency that we cannot even anticipate until it has already happened.
El presidente biden and his banana republic hacks are ignoring inflation. Remind you of 2008? It should. Commie obama and his hacks did the same thing.
Houses in Georgia are selling in 5 days. Housing prices increasing by 50% over original purchase prices. A bunch of out of staters buying nice houses on decent land tracts in red state, For inflated prices.... sound familiar?
Why isn't the Euro considered to be a viable competitor to the USD?
China and Japan's economies aren't similar enough to really make a currency union make sense. Anyway, China is going to have a difficult time navigating declining population and the switch from an export economy to a consumer one. They aren't going to surrender any possible levers for dealing with those issues. Hong Kong and Macau don't even use the same currency, and they are part of the same country!
Japanese hate Chinese. Full stop. It’ll never happen.
Also, the CCP would just as soon use Japan as a military base and push the Japanese into the ocean. They would never partner with what they consider inferior.
Well the doses are in some storage place. They do not last long.
We have more supply than demand.
What would you do?
I know, right? This seems like one of the less objectionable instances of government spending. It's not pallets of cash that go into straight into some dictator's Swiss bank account, it's actual vaccines that have to be used on vaccinating actual people.
Lol. Government is fine when it is an outlay to a foreign country. Fuck off jeff.
It’s not pallets of cash that go into straight into some dictator’s Swiss bank account, it’s actual vaccines that have to be used on vaccinating actual people.
I agree, not the most objectionable, but I remain unconvinced of the abject superiority (moral or otherwise) of dropping $5B worth of widgets on a country in need relative to dropping (e.g.) $500M in cash on Iranians in exchange for hostages/POWs, $50M in hurricane relief, or $5M dollars in weapons to Mexican drug cartels. I could easily comprehend a situation where a corrupt government or warlord takes $5B dollars in vaccines, innoculates the cronies, and leaves the rest to pot, thereby producing more deaths in his opposition/subjects selectively than if we'd just dropped an F-22 on him.
Ideally, the government would do little-to-none of all of the above, and let individuals make their own value judements. But then I'd be, simultaneously, getting too pragmatic as well as too fantastically and unworkably libertarian.

I know, right?
Jeff has been starting posts with this phrase a lot recently. Did Jeff turn into a high school girl?
This is for buying MORE vaccines, not dealing with current orders. God dam. The intent is a buy and give. If supply outstrips demand, lower supply.

Nice band name.
I think I saw them open for Godspeed You! Black Emperor
I must say, as someone who's 'hesitant', I am enjoying the smug 'virtue' of incidentally allowing the poors and those who've inflicted socialized medicine on themselves equal access to lifesaving medication.
It would be nice if I weren't footing the bill but it does make me feel a bit like Colin Kapernick, taking a knee and sacrificing my pro football career for, uh, social justice. Yeah! That's it! Social justice!
I see no reason to take it. The Cleveland study showed that if you had it already the vaccine doesn't help and all of the cases of vaccinated people getting the virus anyway were among those who hadn't had it before.
So it's pointless to get it if you had it because your immunity can't be improved upon, and it's pointless to get it if you haven't had it because you can STILL get it. Unless of course you're a morbidly obese 60+ year old. In that case, it's probably not something you had to mull over.
and if the authorities had just allowed invermectin and HCQ from the beginning, no one would have to get the jab
This is why the Cleveland Clinic suddenly came out with that study indicating those previously infected see no benefit from vaccination? Because they're paving the way to keep those vaccines on the shelf to ship instead to foreign countries?
Well, now I'm not finally agreeing to getting my free shots, I'm demanding it!
Never taking the vaccine. The more the commies in government push, the more I will never take a vaccine for a virus that is less deadly than the coof.
That is, as it should be, your choice.
UNTESTED vaccine to boot.
The label says
Used under EMERGENCY AUTHORIZATION"
That means large scale testing was not done despite the Official Lie that its " tested"
They’re only emergency authorization in the US because they’re missing the >1 year post-dose studies. By September, that’ll be done. In several other countries, Covid-19 vaccines are already fully approved.
The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are remarkably safe. So safe, it is like water. So effective, it is like water. That’s why they both are useless with the variants.
There’s no comparison with the AZ and JJ vaccines, both of which are actually effective and have more side effects.
I’m old enough to remember when the libertarian position would be against this spending, and would make the case for charity to address this.
AND... Liberals were anti Big Government
What happened? ( coughCommunismCough)
i wish go away covid all over world..stay
When most aid is military weapons to our, this is actually "better". Still not what our government should be doing.
Hey those poor country kids are as smart as...
Didn't the Trump administration contract to buy 1.8 billion doses from Pfizer? What did people think was going to happen to all those excess doses once they were delivered?
Give them the vac so they can kill their own people?
Like Al Bundy said:
" more people we should have killed."
Thenumbers were going down b4 vax. Its a false claim to victory to justify spending TRILLIONS of dollars on useless vaccines.
Did the Pzifer CEO* personally felate him?
*The one who held up the vaccine to ensure Trump lost.
When I was a kid it was UNICEF, then it was loans for Africa, then it was “feed the world” in 1985, then it was forgive those failed African loans, Then it was go save them from Ebola. It had to be a paradise over there and we should be living in poverty for all the money that has been taken out of our pockets and into their‘s
